Came for dim sum with family on a Sat. Less expensive on weekdays. We had ha gow (nice and plump), sui mai (huge and moist), chicken feet, taro puffs, taro cake (different, delicious and pretty), pork bean curd that came in a soup. We weren't used to it in a soup form. It was still good. Private rooms available. Nice ambience. Good service. Parking lot in the back. Come early to beat the crowd. Looking forward to having dinner which came highly recommended!

Salted Egg Fried King Crab 10/10

Came here for dinner twice this month with family. This place is a great place to eat for dinner with family, prices aren't too bad. My favorite dish was their salted egg fried king crab the batter is delicious (see first photo) and flavorful it goes well with the meat! The other King Crab is also cooked nicely with the garlic and other garnishes. The Chinese bbq chicken was good too. Only bad thing about this place is they don't take Apple Pay so don't forget to bring your credit cards....overall 8/10. Service is typical Chinese restaurant, if you speak Chinese it will definitely be easier but servers do speak English. Most days I noticed the restaurant is not too crowded, ambiance is not too bad, never had trouble getting a table.

No wait on a Sunday during lunchtime. You can order dim sum at the table, they do not have food carts. You can order dim sum, lunch specials and dishes. Lots to choose from. The dim sum ribs were really good and garlicky. The chicken sticky rice was really good. It was soft and very flavorful. Everything else was good. They have all the regular items at dim sum. Shrimp har gow, shu mai, chicken feet, football, rice rolls, etc. I didn't care for the zongzi. It was the Vietnamese style with the mung bean. They have a big dining room and private rooms. HAPPY DIMSUMING

I would give this restaurant 3.5 stars for dim sum. I especially liked the bean curd wrap with pork. But I did not care for the shrimp har gaw or the shrimp rice roll. The har gow skin was too thick and the shrimp did not taste very fresh. The rice roll was fine but the shrimp filling was not fresh. All of the other dishes were fine. Service was good. Parking is no good; very small parking lot.

We came here for a family dinner with a party of eight and ordered both king crab and geoduck. The seafood was impressively fresh and the portions generous. The king crab was flavorful and perfectly cooked, while the geoduck sashimi was clean, crunchy, and refreshing. Service was attentive and efficient throughout the meal, and for the quality of seafood, the pricing was very reasonable. Great experience overall -- would definitely return for another celebration or large gathering.

Ambiance: fancy chair covers, many individual rooms, well-lit Service: this is pertaining to the dinner service. They changed our plates frequently even though they had a ktv party going outside and we were in one of the rooms. There was no gap in service the whole night, which I appreciated. Even teapots and hot water were replenished often. However, the food came slow (understandably because of the large party going on in the main banquet hall) Food: decent portion for a table of 12, were able to make substitutes on some of the dinner menu set to fit our needs. I particularly enjoyed the xo sauce stir fried geoduck, steamed fish, and roasted suckling pig. But overall, the food was pretty mid. For example, the veggies in the fried rice were too bitter, no different textural elements so it was very monotonous. The sea cucumber that accompanied the abalone was a little too firm. The fried scallops lacked flavor, though the scallops were gigantic. The walnut dessert with black sesame glutinous rice ball only had one ball per bowl, tasted watered down. Overall, for the price range, we got good ingredients, but more seasoning and additional textures would elevate the dishes better.

Update review: one of my friend decided to still have his wedding at this place since I didn't mentioned bad thing about this restaurant except telling him to not leave anything at the restaurant before his wedding incase he lost them like ours. When the manager knew that he is my friend, he still remember us and he sent an apology through him to us and also gave us back our deposit money through my friend. The service and foods were not bad. The manager was nice, but for his response to the loss of our handmade wedding gifts damaged the relationship. If only he apologized and no other words, it'll be fine. But this is a lesson learned. I happened to be in charge of the decoration and needed to arrive early and met the manager there.. he apologized to my husband again, but for me, it's still a bit awkward. Lol. Oh well, things happened and I accepted and forgive.

First time coming here for dim sum and it turned out to be pretty good. I wasn't expecting much as it wasn't packed with customers but I was pretty good overall. My friend was visiting from out of town and chose this restaurant based off something he read on the plane. He made a good choice on this restaurant. The bao's, hai gao and siu Mai's were all tasty and plump. Service was quick but the only downsize was no carts like traditional dim sum places that I'm used too. They do have pictures and you choose what you want if you can't read Chinese characters so it's good for foreigners. Everything was good and tasty. I'll be back with my out of town guests to enjoy.

Ordered Shrimp and Pork Shiu Mai, Chu Zhou Fun Gor, Crispy Eggroll, Deep fried dumpling with mochi, egg custard tart, and Beef Chow Fun. The Shrimp and Pork Shiu Mai were a nice size and a different topping that might be pork floss instead of the usual roe that is on top of the shiu mai. The Chu Zhou Fun Gor were on the smaller side in terms of size, still quite flavorful with a slightly different mix of more seasoned vegetables inside. The Crispy Eggroll were petite, decorated nicely and still very hot and fresh inside. The Deep fried dumpling with mochi was served hot and had a nice sticky exterior to crunch into. The egg custard tarts were on the smaller side too but the egg part of the tart seemed to be more egg custard concentrated than other places. And the Beef Chow Fun was probably the best dish to end with, generous slices of beef inside this well-seasoned noodle dish, a great pick out of all of this. Service was fast, foot traffic through lunch was not very busy, but the two parking area are very tight on space and availability. Interior ambiance is loud, lots of chatter going on so it's easy to be drowned out by the voices around you. The tablecloths are more like table plastic, it's some sort of plastic sheet that they overlay, looks nice but a little weird at first sight. Overall, there are other greater options for dimsum, especially with their middling price, this was fine but there was a lot of room for improvement.

Introduction: I first visited this establishment due to the recommendation from a friend of mine and ever since that visit, I've become one of their loyal customers. Food: Dim Sum Some of my favorite dim sum dishes at this establishment are as follows: Crystal osmanthus cake: The crystal osmanthus cake serves as a great palate cleanser and ending to the meal: it is a dessert that is light, cooling, and refreshing. The best part is the fact the restaurant doesn't skimp on the amount of osmanthus flower they put in the cake and as a result, with each bite, the patrons can fully taste the delicate sweetness and fragrance of the flower. Crispy fish ball: The fish ball is unique in the sense there is an inherent savoriness that's derived from the fish it's made from. The texture of the fish ball is bouncy which means the one making the fish ball has to beat/slap the fish paste repeatedly during the course of making the fish balls [it's a labor-intensive dish]. Pan-fried daikon cake: Unlike the usual pan-friend daikon cake that's served at other dim sum restaurants, the pan-fried daikon cakes at World Seafood Restaurant are refined in its flavors and taste; there is a cleanness to the daikon cakes overall as opposed to being either heavy or greasy. Cocktail bun with coconut filling: It's hard finding a good cocktail bun with coconut filling since very few places make it. I like the cocktail bun due to its texture resembling that of a brioche-bun and the coconut filling inside is delicately sweet and fragrant. Chinese herb with chicken feet: In terms of chicken feet, there are the red braised and herb variety; I prefer the latter between the two because I enjoy the taste and drinking the herbal soup afterwards for the sake of recovery after undergoing an intensive training session. Steamed lotus wrap sticky rice: Amongst all the steamed lotus wrap sticky rice I've tried at other dim-sum locations, the lotus wrap sticky rice at World Seafood Restaurant is the best. The size of the lotus wraps is just right: neither too big nor small. Due to the size of the wraps not being too big, the flavors from the ingredients are more concentrated as a result. In addition, all the ingredients inside are of good quality: one can taste the difference(s) as they're eating the lotus rice wraps. Ambiance: Upscale, spacious, classy Service: The staff is friendly, cordial, and accommodating Price: Reasonable

World Seafood Restaurant in the city of Alhambra has a pretty nice dinner option if you are dining with a large group of people. This is an Asian-style seafood place but they have meat as well as vegetable dishes. All the dishes are family style so they are big to share. I enjoyed the lobster and all the dishes we ordered. The walnut shrimp had a nice crispy texture on the outside and was full of flavor. Don't forget to eat the walnuts too! The vegetables are a good amount and I love how they put a lot of mushrooms on it! The steamed fish was fresh and fall off the bone. They also have different fried rice dishes we got the one with beef and that was a good amount of meat inside. So if you are hunting for a spot in the city of Alhambra for dinner time this could be for you!

Pictures are provided as well through the menu which is a nice plus. Food came out pretty fast, and since we were a 2 table party, each table took turns getting their dishes first. Seafood here is a great option, portions are huge for most dishes, making it perfect to share. My favorite among the dishes is certainly the Walnut Shrimp. It's a classic amongst plenty of Chinese restaurants and Lunasia is up there when it comes to quality. Overall, a decent experience, been here plenty of times for dimsum and it's always quick and quality food. Dinner was decent but nothing too over the top. This was next to. Table of 10 where each individual was just about shouting to each other as their normal tone. I did not like the ordering process which is a change from regilar dimsum places where people walk around with carts of good stuff. You have to scan a QR code to get to the menu so you don't really see what you're getting other that the picture you see on your phone. This place by the way is way pricier than actually better dimsum restaurants. So the food came out.. Pork spare ribs w/ blackbean sauce - the meat was chewy, almost tough to eat, and with a generous hint of MSG. Taro with chinese sausage - bland taro base, stale topping of supposed to be ground chinese sausage. Chicken feet - overcooked Water spinach - pale green, unfresh taste, two bites and I had yo give it up. Salt and pepper pork chop - this is ordinary at best compared to places in Monterey Park and Rowland and Hacienda Heights. Beef Chow fun - the only thing we mostly ate. Shrimp and pork siumai - I was so disappointed I list my appetite by this time. Needless to say, we felt like we wasted our $100 plus tax and tip..$120.00 + , for two prople for dimsum. We left the taro and water spinach and took home more than we ate because maybe I can tweak the left overs at home. Have I talked about the service yet? I will not because it was almost non- existent. I get it's Sunday lunch, but really? We never got the water we asked for but the oolong tea was decent. Again, very disappointing experience. I would have taken bad service with good food but bad service and bad food? One star and not a damn little spark more. Get in the game Lunasia in Alhambra!

I saw they had chicken feet, which I usually love but they didn't look appetizing enough to order. Would definitely go back for other dishes and with more people so we could sample more selections.

Rolling cart service... with friendly efficiency from the women pushing the carts...wide variety available...many same items with choices of meat....shrimp, beef, bbq pork, chicken fillings......things meant to be hot were hot, fried things were crunchy and not greasy.. Things that were delicious: The pineapple bun with the custard filling. 5/5 The beefball, well formed, with the nicest visible chunks of water chestnuts and strong cilantro flavor...usually this meat dish has a hint of orange rind, which I don't like...so I was happy the meatball was more cilantro forward. 5/5 The long rice noodle with beef...also we had the the same with bbq pork were delish. 5/5 for all three...as we also had the shrimp one, my party ate it all up first. I didn't eat the chicken feet, but it was enjoyed by all. The siu mai were large and made with shrimp, which I can't eat, but our party of 6 enjoyed. The platterful of soy chicken was enjoyed by all, just beware the chicken head will be included if you are squeamish. The soy chicken feet, also seemed to please. No one rushed us out even though the dim sum service was over by 3 pm. We had a leisurely meal and waiters made sure to come by and refill our tea kettles. I really enjoyed Capital Seafood today. About 10 years ago, I had a bad experience with takeout roasted duck, so I avoided coming back, but things change for the better.....food was great...and clearly a lot of diners packed thr place and were smiling and laughing as they dined.... I even enjoyed watching the staff change the dining room to accommodate a large banquet later this evening, which included the assembly of a large stage/dais. Very interesting how the waiters transformed the dining room to accommodate the needs of the banquet to come. Well done staff!!

Perfect family dim sum experience for us…read more We took out my parents and in-laws for dim sum: my parents' very first time ever. We did wait about an hour, but honestly I didn't mind at all because it gave us a chance to relax, talk, and catch up as a family. Once we were seated, my parents were immediately impressed with the decor: elegant and cultural without feeling overly modern or cold. And can we talk about the tea kettles? They looked like literal pieces of art being poured at the table. Ordering was super easy with the QR code system, so my husband handled the whole spread: shumai dumplings, chicken feet, sesame balls, and more. Everything came out hot, fresh, and beautifully plated. The ENTIRE table agreed on one thing: the chili oil condiment deserves to be sold in bottles to take home. It was that good. Smoky, just the right amount of spicy, and addictive. Now for the real test: my in-laws. They've been to *many* dim sum places and are not easily impressed. They declared this place to have the best chicken feet that they've ever had: meat easily sucked off the bone, melt-in-your-mouth tender, and perfectly seasoned. High praise coming from dim sum veterans. Most importantly, my parents' first dim sum experience couldn't have been better. They loved everything from the ambiance to the food to the overall experience. My husband and I want to come back to explore more of the menu because there's clearly so much more to try

This location is pretty spacious and even has a second floor for dining. Though we were seated inside, a lot of people were coming in and out for take out. They have a QR code to scan the menu and send your order to the kitchen. Unfortunately, they forgot our order of shumai. We had already finished eating before it even came. The waitress was kind but apparently had to bring the receipt back because the staff was claiming we already received it.

Everything is ordered by piece, so you can mix and match exactly what you want by filling out the form. Came by on a Saturday craving a few things and ordered siu mai, har gow, BBQ pork buns, ham sui gok, and sesame balls. Once you place your order, everything comes out pretty fast. Overall the items are decent and definitely hit the craving. The BBQ pork bun was a little dry for me, but I liked the sesame balls and ham sui gok, nice and crispy on the outside with a chewy texture. Solid spot if you're in a rush or just want a quick dim sum fix.

I have been going to this place to satisfy my dim sum cravings ever since it used to be "Fong's Dim…read moreSum" back in the 1980's. Yes, that's how long this place has survived & for good reason. They were the first to serve fresh & tasty dim sum to-go for a reasonable price at good value due to their big portion sizes. However, my son & I, went there recently & ordered the usual Siu Mai, Baked BBQ Bun & Steamed BBQ bun. We usually call in our orders in advance to avoid the long wait outside but this time things seem off. Firstly, the lady cannot understand our order & we were put on hold while there seem to be a banter between her & a gentlemen inside for sometime. Secondly, when we finally got there & picked up the order, one of the items given was wrong. Instead of Char Siu Bao, we had Har Gow. So, we waited for another 15 minutes more to get the correct item. When we got home & opened the bags, the Siu Mai had gotten smaller & the worst part is that one of the Baked BBQ Bun had a cockroach pressed on the outside layer of the bun (see picture). I tried to contact the owner first to let them know so it can be corrected before posting it here but no one called. I know that this can affect their "safety food rating" & thus their sales. But if there was indeed a change in management or ownership, they need to fix the sizing portion & bug problem so they could live up to the history & expectations of their loyal clientele.
