    I was randomly searching for crab roe noodles on yelp and stumbled on Auntie Qiu Kitchen in Arcadia. I ordered the crab roe noodles, pan fried pork buns and spicy wonton? The crab roe noodles were really good but it was a little small in portions. The pan fried buns came out piping hot and it was filled with soup. I thought I ordered spicy wontons but my wontons came out to be wontons with sesame sauce. It wasn't spicy but I really like enjoyed the sesame sauce with the wontons. Auntie Qiu offers a wide variety selection of food, the menu was pretty extensive but I knew what to order what I got there. The place is a bit small but when I went, it wasn't so busy and they had more people ordering take out. Overall, it was a comforting and great meal.

    A friend mentioned Auntie Qiu Kitchen is their favorite restaurant in the area so I had to come check it out. We ordered pork soup dumplings, pan fried pork buns, pork potstickers, thick chowmein with beef, Shanghai rice cake with pork and pork belly noodle soup for entrees. The wrapper of the soup dumplings is a bit thicker and chewier than Din Tai Fung. The pork filling is juicy and flavorful. We really liked the noodles and rice cake. We also got coconut lava balls, osmanthus ice jelly, and sesame mochi. The osmanthus ice jelly is nice and refreshing, and not too sweet. The coconut balls and sesame mochi were just ok. The staff is friendly. The decor in the restaurant is cute. I'd come back to try more dishes.

    after consulting my Shanghainese friends and checking this place out for myself. Auntie Qiu is an automatic No Brainer, must-detour for Xiao Long Bao & Shen Jian Bao Lovers and everything Shanghainese. That being said. I gave everything high markers. Both Soup Based Dumplings and Pan Fried Pie/ Baos were flooded with soup. Their specific Worcester Vinegar sauces were all local to Jiangsu & Shanghai and elevated both dishes--- fully enjoyed these two items. Shanghai Braised Pork was a solid 8.5/10, Jellyfish Salad 8/10, Shanghainese Scallion oil dry noodles maintained form factor and flavor on my rig during my trip out, am I missing anything.... This restaurant is worth driving from Rowland Heights out to Arcadia for dinner. Gentlemen in the front of the house was excellent. Stellar service and interior decor fits that whole Shanghai theme really well with the 1920s Art Deco & Neoclassicim that really brought the culture there to the attention of the West as the Paris of the East. Can't wait to come back with a party next time around.

    They have a large menu. I've been here a couple times and there's still more intriguing items I want to try. Once I came for lunch on a Saturday. Another time I came for dinner on a Sunday. Both times we were seated right away, no wait. Service is polite. Standout dishes for me were the Twisted Cruller Mochi Black Sesame and Shanghai Style Salty Tofu Pudding. Both were unique and interesting flavor and texture combinations.

    Super quick and excellent Shanghainese food! We ordered a bunch to try. The Shanghainese eggrolls were delicious and came out so hot and crunchy. The wonton noodle soup was simple but comforting. And the XLB were on par with dtf The mochi sesame donut was unique and a standout.

    Came here with high expectations and it was just okay. The soup dumplings really stick to the paper if you don't pull them off right away. The food was very seasoned/salty. It's not a bad thing, the flavors were just very strong.

    Tried another Auntie Qiu location and had a fun little food adventure! The place was clean, the server was super friendly, and we decided to switch things up and order totally different dishes from what we usually get at the Alhambra spot. We started with the pork potstickers--they were decent and juicy, but honestly didn't wow me. The pan-fried pork buns still win by a mile (those are just hard to beat!). Then came the sweet and sour pork ribs--tangy, juicy, and yes... lots of fat definitely indulgent and packed with flavor. We also tried the string beans with beef, and those were actually really delicious--simple but super satisfying. Overall, I'd say stick with the server's recommendations--they really know what's best on the menu! Still a fun and tasty experience, and I'd come back again knowing exactly what to order next time We also added the crab xiao long bao--it was okay, but honestly the pork version is still way better.

    I can't say enough about this place and their amazing dishes - we ordered the crab XLB, pancake egg crepe with hot dog, brown sugar glutinous cakes, salty tofu pudding, pork noodles, and pan fried dumplings. The XLB was HOT as it should be and the skin was just thick enough where it didn't break. I loved the salty tofu pudding as it's something I've never had before - it hit the spot on a rainy day. My partner enjoyed his noodles but felt it was a little too plain which may just be the style of the dish that we're not used to. His favorite was the egg pancake because of how flavorful the sauce was. They ran out of the pan fried buns when we got there so that's for next time. Big thumbs up for their self-ordering format

    This place truly took me back to Shanghai, and every dish we tried hit the spot. This is their original location, and there was a wait when we arrived, so I recommend calling ahead. It's a little cramped inside but the waiter was attentive in checking on the progress of our food. We started with Wanlaoji, a drink I used to order often in China, and it was refreshing and nostalgic. The mini wonton soup was a standout. The broth tasted just like the ones I have had in Shanghai, and the tiny wontons made it comforting and hearty. We also ordered the steamed lettuce in oyster sauce, a simple but great addition to the table. The sheng jian bao was made fresh and came in a portion of four, which was perfect for sharing. It was absolutely delicious. The shaomai was another highlight, soft and full of flavor. Overall, this was a great meal, and I will definitely be back to try more dishes.

    TDLR: far cry from Shanghainese food in terms of flavor, but close enough for this area that enjoys fusion and gimmicky trends I went here twice to make sure it wasn't an off experience because I saw this reel from a pretty famous chef raving about this place. Maybe this really hyped my expectations due to growing up in Shanghai, but the flavor was seriously lacking both times compared to what I grew up with. The interior decoration is really adorable, although they did keep the hotpot tables from paperpot. Service was nice, but they only have 1-2 staff running around even when it's really busy so expect a wait due to the recent hype, but food does come out quickly aside from the pan fried buns (made hot). Everything we tried & my shanghainese parents, non shanghainese friends were mostly disappointed: -pan fried buns: excellent crunch, better than the ones in Flushing, NY that are similar but the dough is different from the real thing on top. Soup and meat is fine -crab roe XLB: barely crab taste and coloring -shumai: no taste compared to the real thing and pretty much all rice -hairy crab noodles: close enough if you haven't had it in years, but my mom was most disappointed in this since it's our favorite -braised pork was good in flavor but a bit tough, restaurant 99 is much better -scallop wasabi was random, but ok -osmanthus tofu had no flavor, others in the are have better -egg pancakes &sesame crueler: lack of flavor/mushy/ wouldve been fusion dishes That being said, some of my American Chinese/taiwanese friends did enjoy this spot. Its not authentic enough for someone who remembers how it tastes in Shanghai :/

    My first time visit at Auntie Qiu Kitchen was in their Alhambra location. I found out they are also located in Arcadia which is a lot more convenient and closer for me so here I am. It's located in the President Square a few doors down from 99 Ranch Market. I called in to place my order as I didn't want to wait since my Mom was with me. The young gentleman on the phone was pleasant. Upon entry, I was WOWed by the decor. Interior ambiance has a very Asian oriental flare to it. I like it! Good amount of inside seating. No outside seating. They accept cash or credit card. If you pay by cash, you get 5% off the total bill. So bring cash if you love to save a few bucks! Luckily I had cash on me LOL. Staff was okay. If they don't look at you in the eye, it's probably nerves. Do check your food order before you leave. They forgot my pan-fried pork buns. I had to go back to get them. It's okay... they're still learning. My order consists of the food items below. My daughters favorites from this place. We'll be back for more deliciousness. One day, we'll have to come dine-in to experience the cool ambiance. You should, too! 2 Pan-Fried Pork Buns - pork filling was very flavorful, tasty pork juices were spilling out, nicely pan-fried... two thumbs up in our book! Get it if you love pork!! 2 Bean Curd Pork Wrapped with Vermicelli - broth was delicious, bean curd pork were well marinated, vermicelli was the perfect amount... just delish! However, one more of each of the bean curd pork would have been nice. Would still get again! 1 Scallion Oil Noodles - tasty, but needs a little bit more oil as the noodles got stuck together. Other than that, still a WIN!

    A solid place with quick service with good value and food! If you're looking for great place for dumplings and noodles, this is your spot! ** Parking: situated in a large plaza with plenty of parking spaces -- no issues with finding a space ** Ambience: nothing fancy but clean, average noise level, great for small - shmedium groups! ** Service: quick to take our orders and for food to come out. I'd say by the time we placed our orders the first dish came out within 5 minutes. Someone came to our table to take our order but you can also scan a bar code to place your order as well. If you pay with cash, you get a discount on your total bill at the end!! ** Food: - Crab noodles: a GENEROUS portion of noodles with a generous portion of crab meat (the type you find under the shell). Mixed with a bit of vinegar and their chili oil (which by the way was SO aromatic) is chef's kiss - Pan fried pork bao: amazing fatty pork and soup flavor, just wished that there was more meat and soup. Just felt like there was a lot of empty space for the size of the bao. I would say this is my number 2 favorite place for pan fried pork bao (after number 1 reigning Kang Kang of course) - Soup dumpling/xiaolongbao: a lot of places struggle to make the dumpling skin not too thick or it ends up chewy, but also not too thin or the soup just spills out. Auntie qiu's got the perfect thickness of the skin down with a flavorful porky/soupy interior. One of the best I've had in the area The price and flavor of the food here is already waiting to drive back out here to try the rest of the dishes here. If you need to try anything here, highly recommend the pan fried pork bun (esp if you LOVE A GOOD FATTY PORK INTERIOR) and pork xiaolongbao.

    located between 99 Ranch Arcadia Golden West Street and Full house restaurant. Plenty of free parking. Very nice ambience. Cute deco of Shanghai streets. Excellent shen chen bao - Pan fried SLB. Is limited waiters. Only 2 for the whole place. Pork with brown sauce very good. They didn't have fried shrimp nor smoked fish --- bummer See details of description in the pictures

The interior feels nice and lavish, and the dishes are served on these massive plates that really give off a luxury dining vibe. Servers were also nice for the most part. Food-wise, I ordered the yan du xian, xiao long bao, and a crab dish that came with the thin wraps usually used for duck. The xiao long bao was acceptable, though the flavor was definitely different from what I'm used to at other local spots like Din Tai Fung. Not bad, just different. The crab dish was actually pretty tasty and something I'd definitely order again. The yan du xian, unfortunately, was the weak point for me. I have this dish relatively often, so I had certain expectations going in. The soup had this strange stench to it that I can't really describe beyond just tasting "stinky." It may have been from the pork or bamboo shoots, though the pork itself tasted okay to me. Whatever it was, the flavor just felt off, and I'd probably skip that dish next time. Overall though, I still enjoyed the experience enough to maybe come back and try other dishes like the acorn fish and braised pork, but will need some time first to forget the yan du xian flavor...

You can look at the pictures to see some of what we had, although now I'm realizing that they're only appetizers because presumably I was too busy eating after a while to take more pictures (a successful food influencer I am not, nor do I aspire to be). The only disappointing one was the 生煎包, only because 康康 does it SO much better...but 康康 does it so much better than really anyone else (Auntie Qiu's comes close). Their smoked fish dish is magic. Service is fine. I mean, typical of what you'd get at a place like this? There is easy parking in the lot.

It had the texture of a tortilla instead. Service was excellent! The server was quick and attentive. We received our food within 10 minutes of ordering. There is plenty of seating inside and parking is in a shared lot with other businesses. Would come back and would also recommend!

Parking: There's a parking lot, but many of the spots seem to be reserved for other businesses. There are also many street parking spaces.

The restaurant wasn't busy when we arrived, there were only a few tables. It's a small restaurant. The owner (I think) and waiter were both very welcoming and friendly. They gave us complimentary cups of chicken vegetable broth. We decided to try some items that we regularly order at other restaurants and some new items. Chicken vegetable broth: 5/5 - I thought this was the best dish we had. Very umami broth. Beef burrito appetizer: 3/5 - This is more commonly called a beef roll at most other restaurants. It was okay, they don't fry the wrapping like some other restaurants. Braised pork rice: 3/5 - Good portion size and reasonably priced. The flavors are less Taiwanese and more Shanghai. Braised beef noodle:3/5 - Compared to other beef noodles soups we've had this was just okay. Braised intestine rice noodle: 3.5/5 - they were nice enough to make mine without peppers. I enjoy intestines and wanted to try this dish. The owner suggested I have it with vinegar which I tried and after eating maybe a quarter of the dish I felt nauseous from the vinegar. The vinegar does enhance the dish but at the same time you can only have so much of it without feeling queasy. I would rate this place 3.5 rounded up to 4. Food wise I thought this place was just okay. But I really enjoyed the friendliness of the staff and might come back again in the future to try new dishes.

I had called 20 minutes before and let them know what I wanted to order via dish name. Parking is available in the back lot but there's very limited spots available due to other businesses being really busy. The store is pretty small since they try putting as many tables as they can. When you walk in, you have to squeeze past the tables to walk to the counter to pick up your order. It felt really awkward since I had to walk in between two tables while they were eating. When I talked to the server, I asked her if she accepted Apple Pay and she said yes. I tapped my AMEX card and it went through but made a weird sound as if it denied. I asked her if she accepted AMEX afterwards and she said no but it already went through. Not sure what that meant... I signed my receipt, grabbed my food, said thank you and nothing back. Food: I got take-out so the food might vary compared to dining in. My family and I did try and eat it as fast as we could. It took 10 minutes to drive home and another 10 to actually eat the food. We ordered the home style chow mein, beef roll pancake, hand made pancake, and pan fried pork dumplings. Home style chow mein (7/10): When we opened the box, the steam was still pouring through. I thought that this one was decent. We did order this one to be cooked with less oil so it might've dried the noodles a little more when it was being cooked. There were lots of different veggies in this dish. I think the protein in here was pork, I'm not too sure. I thought that there was good amount of flavor! Beef Roll Pancake (7/10) : I love beef roll pancakes and will order one if a restaurant offers it. However, this one sort of fell flat for me. There was hardly any beef rolled into the pancake. It comes with 2 big rolls that are cut into 3 so in total you get 6 rolls. The skin was chewy and the sweetness from the hoisin sauce came through with each bite. Some people steer clear of this because of the cilantro but the flavor didn't really overpower the dish. Pan Fried Pork Dumplings (7/10): Of course you need to get dumplings at a dumpling house. I thought that this dish was a tad bit too oily. The dumpling skin was soft and the filling was packed. I do wish that the "pan fried" part was a little more crunchy but it could be soggy because I got to-go and couldn't eat it right away. It comes with 8 pieces which was plenty since we got other dishes. Hand made pancake (6/10): This one is so unique! If you can imagine it, it's like a circle with swirls and the swirls are pulled apart from each other. This dish is so easy to share with other people since you can just rip it apart in strands. I do wish that this one was a little more salted.
