With the current Covid19 situation it has been hard to find an open Chinese restaurant. We called around and yes they were open. The food here is very tasty. This is a step up from your local Chinese restaurant . We really enjoy their noodle soups and my personal fav the beef with long hots. We try to order at least 1 new item every time we order. I do wish they would have combination platters because my kid loves them but he has been happy with the pork noodle soup. Their pad thai is probably some of the best I have ever had. We were craving Vietnamese food, but they were all closed on Labor Day. So, we came upon Shangri-La, a Chinese restaurant (and you know Chinese Restaurants never closer on holidays). We really liked our server. He was very cognizant of the fact that we had two young children to feed. We ordered from lunch special menu and a la carte menu. Mostly tasty choices. Nothing was amazing, but everything was good. We also ordered shrimp rice noodle and there were more than enough shrimp in the dish (some places really skimp). While visiting family, I had the best General Tso's shrimp I have ever had. Large prawns, not over fried, fresh perfectly prepared broccoli and delicious rice. If their other dishes are this good, I might have to move to the area! read more

The healthiest spot around me! I love Shangri La as it is an awesome restaurant. 1 cup of rice, about 6-7 oz of chicken, and a whole mess of vegetables only for 7 bucks + you get a soup... it is so delicious and good. The staff is super nice and friendly and I get a special discount since my gym does promotional stuff that gives discounts to all local businesses. The biggest things for me are HEALTH, TIME, and TASTE. Shangri La checks of all three of these requirements at a great cost. I love the lunch combo, the dinner is the same thing it just has twice the quantity... but all it is, is boiled chicken and select veggies, steamed rice, and a sauce- I cannot get over the Mango. For lunch I like to call ahead so its ready when I arrive. I used to mess with the spice (4-5 out of 5) until one time it really did burn too much. So now I get the 3. I was excited to order from here because they have many vegan options. The food was good but don't order the food from grub hub. I was charged $25 more then the prices on the menu. I wish there was a warning on the website I would have called it in. They charged me $20 for 5 pieces of Veg tempura. $7 for 2 spring rolls. Everything I ordered was at least $1 or more then the original menu price. I will probably order again but I'll call it in next time. read more

Shangri LA in Cherry Hil It's a very modern style restaurant for traditional Chinese food. Eight of us went to dinner and overall had a very good experience. Spare ribs were very good and so was Chinese pizza. The dumplings were thick and doughy and the noodle soup was just ok. Chicken lettuce wraps, the sweet and sour chicken were very good. We also did a make your own with chicken and lots of vegetables which was good as well. Our vegetarian dish was a moo soo which was good but a tad too sweet. Service was fast and the staff is very attentive to any dietary needs or to your taste preferences. Would definitely recommend! read more

I'm giving this place 5 stars because as a vegetarian, I cannot stress how hard it is to find Chinese food that is vegetarian friendly. Sure, I could just eat vegetable fried rice and cheese wontons but I missed having a full meal. This magical place offers seitan and I LOVE THEM FOR THIS. It is SO nice to be able to order General Tso's or Sweet & Sour again. The texture and flavor are both amazing and even my carnivorous friends prefer the seitan! What a surprise. I sometimes jones for chinese but am always didappointed. Not here!. The spare ribs were from my childhood...big, meaty. And with awesome duck sauce. I havent had duck sauce like this in decades. They make it here. Had chicken with a variety of vegetables that i picked from a great list. What came out was a larger than expected order with lots of chicken in a spicey (i ordered it on a scale of 1 to 5) brown sauce. I ordered lo mein the first time here and asked for as little oil and sauce as possible. Dish came out full of oil and sauce but ate it, didn't complain, but didn't enjoy it. Last week I ordered scallops, you choose four vegetables, and sauce. I asked for lite teriyaki sauce. There were 6 large scallops, but they had no flavor and seemed raw and not cooked. I guess they pan fry them in a wok, but they were just terrible. I'm upset with myself for not sending them back. I ate a couple and left the rest of the dish. The chef has no understanding what Lite means cause there was a lot of sauce on the dish. I know this place has great review, and I probably ordered the wrong dish, but not sure if I will give this place another chance. read more

Tonight, I had the distinct pleasure of trying Shangri-La for the first time. My six year old son and I were craving some good Chinese food and saw that this restaurant was highly reviewed. While it wasn't close (20+ min), boy was it worth the drive! When we arrived, we had to wait a little bit to be seated. You could tell they were very busy, but the gentleman at the counter was prompt and polite and sat us as soon as a table was available. All of the employees, despite being busy, managed to show personal attention to every customer. It was a pleasure to watch! Then the food came... all I can say is WOW! The food was absolutely exquisite! My son is a dumpling aficionado, and after one bite, he swore these were the best dumplings he had ever eaten. Both the meal and the experience were so enjoyable, I only wish we lived close enough to go again tomorrow night! Drove a bit from the hotel, but worth the drive. I cam for the food, the ambiance was casual and while.they just moved here from 50 feet away, somebody goofed on their popularity!!! Packed and many turned away. They should have waited . Service awesome and first rate. Made great recomendations and accomodated diet and were huge knowledgable. So the food, the real reason? Damn awesome. Bean curd (tofu) soup with vegetables was so tasty while simple. Flavorful and fresh. The sesame Seiten (vegan) chicken with broccoli and brown rice was very tasty and well textured and flavorful. Very very nicely done!! If you want quick and consistently good quality Shangri La is the place to go. We've had a lot from the menu and nothing disappoints.

The first thing I should mention is the staff is so welcoming and hilarious. As soon as you walk in the door they are ready and willing to help you. Back in January my friend informed me that she was hosting a birthday celebration at the Chinese establishment near the Kibitz room in Voorhees. I immediately thought of the restaurant that was there years ago. I dined at that location, and while the food was good, it didn't have that WOW!! factor I know she requires when hosting a celebratory event. I have complete trust, and faith in her decisions when it comes to dining so I figured either the place got better, or she was able to obtain the mythical "secret menu". When I pulled into the parking lot I realized the other establishment was closed, and Shangri La was not the place I was thinking of. I was later informed that the children, of the owners of the previous Chinese restaurant, decided to venture out and open up their own restaurant in the same plaza. As the night went on I became more and more welcoming of this establishment from the staff tripping over themselves to greet us as we walked through the door, and when the wonton soup hit the table and washed down what little doubt I had left with that flavor from the broth. Unless I am ordering noodle soup or Pho, I don't usually eat soup when dining at Chinese establishments but the family style seating allowed me to sample a bowl and indulge in a few more thereafter. The soup was quickly followed up by platters of salt & pepper chicken wings, boneless spare ribs, a platter containing fried shrimp, scallops, and fish. I would never consider ordering the fired platters on my own. but maybe I need to reconsider. Nothing was heavy or contained a ton of grease. Even though Shangri La seems to be a more modern, fusion style establishment, they do embrace the traditional classics, at the same time incorporating their style in some of your traditional favorites. Best Chinese pizza (scallion pancake) I've been able to find in years! My favorite place closed (Bo's Wok in Cinnaminson), and ever since, I've been on the hunt for Chinese pizza that was just as good. I think I've found it here! It's a bit thicker, but still has the flaky, crispiness I love, and the sauce was great, too! I could have eaten 2 orders by myself. I also tried bubble tea for the first time (almond, my fave), and it was delish! The servers were funny and on top of everything, which was great. One recommended the crispy sesame beef strips when I was originally going to just order sesame beef, and I'm so glad he did. My husband, however, thought he would try something he never had before (pan fried noodles with beef), which the waiter said came in a brown sauce, but when he received it, it didn't appear to be brown (almost like a clear or white sauce?) Which he said was bland, so that was disappointing. I also requested brown rice with my meal (and repeated it twice to be sure) and it came out with white. We aren't the type to complain or send anything back, but it's worth mentioning. The dining area feels more like take-out seating and it was smaller than we thought, but clean and well-kept. Visiting Cherry Hill, and my boyfriend's family took us to one of their favorite spots. First of all, great service! We had a very large table (8), and the waitstaff were all incredibly attentive and gracious. I ordered the beef teriyaki bento box, which came with salad, miso soup, tempura, California roll, and rice. The salad dressing was a little watery, but otherwise I enjoyed everything else. I also ordered a classic milk tea with bubbles. Unfortunately, that wasn't very good...overly sweet with an artificial flavor and the tapioca pearls seemed like they had been sitting for a while. They had a gummy texture like they were breaking down. I'll certainly be back. I tried other food that people had ordered (pad thai, sesame noodles, beef skewers, etc.), and it was all very tasty. read more

2.5 stars because portions small for the price. I am from central Jersey. On the positive, the shrimps were fresh and nice sized but for $18 I expected a larger portion of Kung Po. I've tried a number of places in the Cherry Hill area and I won't be coming back here. My wife also thought her dish was on the small side.
