We've used Fred and his son for many years. He's fixed our washing machine, helped our son with some things at his new condo and several other things. Fantastic service. I bought my stove 2 yrs ago, oven never turned on. Did i call warranty for repair? No. Because i procrastinate. Warranty expired. Called this company. 1. Answered quickly. 2. I have been using Sharp Appliance for an apartment complex I manage for the past year. We found him on angie's list and called on him based on the reviews found there. He is reliable and has checked a few of the dishwashers and stoves in our complex and is quick to tell us whether it is worth it to repair or replace. He provides an estimate prior to approval and seems knowledgeable. In any appliance repair, cost are usually high, however I do think he does a great job at working with the customer. read more

We just had our refrigerator fixed by Sharp and I really appreciate the service and information that Fred gave us about another one we have, because we had called another company that came to see it and told us what we needed and they would order the part and be here in a couple of days. But never called or returned . My husband called the night before and fred came the next morning and went to get the part to fix our fridge. To me that is a very dedicated person to his field. Some people except miracles from people and everyone is human and can only do their very best. And to those who expected more I would have to say read up on how to fix your own stuff and do if yourself if you think you can do better. Because sometimes things happen. Homeowners beware! I have a central heating / cooling system in my house. My heater has given me no problems, but the cooling system needed help this summer. I hired Fred to come and look at the A/C on July 1, 2014. He came, fixed the A/C and left. This winter, I find that now the heater won't ignite. I called a different technician to come in this morning and he immediately noticed that an electrical wire has been manually disconnected from the unit, prohibiting the heater from igniting. There was no reason for the wire to have been disconnected and removing the wire requires too much force for it to have disconnected by itself. The only person who has accessed the unit all year was Fred. The first thing my new technician asked me was, "has anyone come in to work on it this summer?" saying that unfortunately it's a common occurrence for some technicians to disconnect wires in order to ensure repeat business. It appears as though this was done to my machine. I do not recommend using Sharp's services. read more

Fred is the best. I've used him more than once, most recently last week during the hottest days of the year. I called him just before 10 p.m. on a Thursday night and he came first thing in the morning Friday before his other appointments. He's honest, patient, responsive, diligent and resourceful and charged a very fair price when he could have tried to take advantage. It wasn't only the hottest day of the year. It was my wife's birthday and he knew we were having people over that night to celebrate. I'd give him six stars if I could. read more

I wish I had read more of the Yelp reviews. We hired Fred recently and although I think the work was well done, he showed a lack of integrity. He used our lack of information to jack up the price far beyond OEM prices. I recently had an issue with my ice maker. My wife looked at reviews and called Fred. He came on site and gave a quote of $665 to replace the ice maker. Trusting that this was reasonable, she approved and asked Fred to fix this. He was there for a couple of hours and he seemingly did the work well. The ice maker now works. However, as I had contacts with a spare parts supplier in another matter I learned that the *OEM* icemaker was $189 plus some small things like a plastic tube and a solenoid (double checked with detailed model number). This didn't sound right. Thus, I asked Fred for a cost breakdown. He said the materials were $420! When I confronted him with this information he didn't explain the cost but just said: "You got the estimate before the job." And yes, we did. And we did approve. Because we trusted that we would not be ripped off. Starting to suspect what was going on I asked for the original parts invoices and what he charged per hour. He refused to send any invoices. Texting back and forth I insisted, and wondered why he would possibly not share this unless there was a discrepancy between these invoices and what he was telling us. Faced with this, and understanding that I actually understood what materials cost, he immediately volunteered to send me $100 back which he did. He already had my money and getting a fair deal at this time seemed farfetched. However, I still want to provide this review for others' reference. I have the text messages, invoices, and estimates to back it all up. If you want to use him, buyer beware. read more

Fred is a crook!!! I called them to fix my washing machine... I told whomever I spoke to I had just purchased it used and that I knew of one problem that it wasn't putting out water on the cold cycle settings... but that there may be other problems as I had just purchased it and hadn't fully tested it out. He said he would send someone out look it over for the assessment fee of 59.99 that would be applied as credit to the total of the repair. That the repairman would asses the problems and let me know what the cost of repairs would be... Fred care and he said he found only the cold cycle problem and the part was 285.00 (on a machine I purchased used for 150.) He repaired it I paid it and he said it was all in working order. but it is not in working order... the spin cycle leaves the clothes feeling too wet.. when I called today to ask for him to come back and fix it... he was rude and stand offish when he spoke to me on the phone... and told me it was a new problem . he said that it worked when he left that this is a new problem... but I haven't used the machine until today. His "supervisor" Chris called me back but offered no solution or to send him or another repairman back out to do a proper assessment and repair... it's such a scam... And when Fred was at my house he kept asking me "you buy this house" I said no I'm just renting it... but he kept asking about it... " you sure? What you don't want to buy this house" what's it to you Fred? They make it seem like they are legit over the phone....but they are just trying to get more money out of you and up charging according to what they think you can pay... I do not recommend their services... I recommend you look elsewhere. read more

Fred is been our designated handyman for the past four years. His work has always been professional, he is affordable, fair, and above all .. honest. I trust his judgement and his intention. He has repaired our washer, dryer, and even done minor plumbing work. My wife and I simply allow no one else to serve our repair needs. read more

We saw the reviews on Angie's List and placed a call to Fred to look at our range and fridge. He came out, did some work on the fridge, said he needed to get parts for the stove and left...neither of them worked. Came back a few days later, changed out the thermostat on the fridge, took down some more numbers from the stove and said he'd come back. Fridge started to cool again but stove was still broken. The third time he came back, tried to install some parts on the stove, mumbled under his breath about the parts not working and he "wouldn't get his money back for the parts" and he left again. Stove still doesn't work. Two weeks later I had to call him as we had not heard from him. He indicated that he was going to try some other parts on the stove but didn't really want to because he didn't think it would work. I asked him point blank if the stove needed to be replaced and he said yes. I was frustrated he didn't tell me this two weeks prior but I moved on. Fast forward about a month. Open the fridge and the thermostat reads 65 degrees even though the fridge is on the lowest setting. Call Fred to see if he can come and look at it, and he begins to dispute the date of service even though it's written on the invoice. He indicates that he can come out the next morning but unfortunately that time doesn't work for me. He got very defensive, ugly on the phone, kept asking me "what do you want me to do" and would become even more hostile when I said I wanted him to do the job I had paid him for. He became very aggressive on the phone, extremely rude and finally said when he got time he'd call me back. I will never, ever use this man again. If he can't fix something, he needs to be honest enough to come right out and say it needs to be replaced instead of stringing you along and trying to fix something that may be beyond repair.
