If you have an older car with a lot of miles and just need a quick fix, go here. Called five different businesses in the area to get a quote to fix my front brakes since they were making a scraping sound at random times. Spoke with Dimitri at D&G and he quoted half the price of most every other competitor in the area. He started off by saying I might just need to replace the pads (rather the rotors and calipers like other places require). He said he could get my car in right away and have it done in a few hours. Lo and behold, I saved $250+ and will be bringing my car back when the time comes.

i don't know if these guys are scam artists or just crappy mechanics. i've been bringing my car…read morethere for 2 years. i think they had a change of ownership because the main guy i had been dealing with disappeared about a year ago. things have been downhill since then. for the sake of brevity i will just describe the most recent of my travails there. brought my car in a month ago because the check engine light was on. they said it was the egr valve and i had it replaced. $350. month later, light goes back on and my brakes start acting up. they say the light is on because someone forgot to put in the gasket w/the egr valve and it was all coated in carbon. as far as the brakes, they said i needed to replace: rear brakes (all hardware) and rear wheel cylinder-$483, and front tie rod and axle-$475. not including tax. i refused the repairs (my car is worth less than it would've cost to fix it) they said they would have to order the gasket and could i call them in a few days. ummm...how bout YOU call ME in a few days since you didnt do the job right in the first place?! so they did. brought it in and the supposedly put it in. in the meantime , i go get a second opinion. thank gawd!!! Tony from Tony's greenwood auto (that godsend), did everything they were gonna do (rear brakes, wheel cylinders, tie rod) plus thermostat and a tune up for a total of $475 (including tax, labor, etc). the same price emerald city auto was gonna charge to do JUST the tie rod!!!!!! my check engine light was back on 2 days after the emerald city guys put in the egr valve gasket. tony took a look and said they actually made the gasket rather than ordering it. and he was dumbfounded that they didnt put it in in the first place since it comes IN the box with the egr valve. if you want your car to be repaired correctly for an honest price, DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!

When I ask him why my car was throwing white smoke from the muffler, he denied it all but in latter months after I finished the engine repair that cost me around $35,000 dollars; I found a video where he was abusing my car making explosion and popping from the engine. Note. I never gave permission for him to test drive my car. I won't recommend this shop for anyone with common sense of how car is taking care of. Up to today June 2026 he is denied his responsibility even that I have video where he abused my car.

Imagine my daughter's horror: I just bought her a used, pretty little car with AWD. She was in love at first sight. I had it checked out with my SoCal mechanic and everything was great. All of the services were done at a local Audi dealer on time every time... did I mention from the Audi dealer? But within a week of transporting the car to her an alert screams "Switch Off Engine! The oil pressure is low!" She calls crying as she driving home from work saying she didn't do anything wrong but the alert tells her to stop driving immediately. I desperately tried to find a reputable mechanic over the weekend - out of state - with no knowledge of the city but thankfully Yelp led me to Steve. He was quick to respond and even allowed her to come that very morning despite his loaded schedule. He diagnosed her car, sent me texts of each inspection check he performed (with pictures) using an app of some sort that was very detailed. He discovered the problem was a broken solenoid bolt that caused the oil leak; replaced it; added new oil; drove it around to check the oil pressure; rechecked any faulty codes and called me to tell me my daughter's car is all fixed.... ... Wait for it ... The bill was just a fraction of the costs I thought I might have a pay. He could have said it was a gasket leak, or worse engine damage, etc. I wouldn't know and couldn't know but he was thorough, honest, and so impressively great professional. I love cars, but I'm not a mechanic and he saved me. He saved my dad-cred, saved me time, energy and money. I'm my daughter's hero but he's my mechanic hero. I will never send my daughter anywhere else. Everyone else in Seattle should do the same. Thanks Steve.
