I had the lamb kalaia and it was pretty good. The torshi went nice with the rice and veggies in the plate. The lamb was cooked perfectly and the side of lentil soup was amazing. I am still a big fan of this place! The hummus is awesome. I picked some up and brought it to a bbq this weekend. It was eaten up pretty quickly by the crowd. People loved it and kept asking me where I got it from. The lentil soup is still one of my favorites. I really wasn't a lentil fan until I tried the soup here. A month ago I ordered delivery, was told it would take 30 minutes (I live 3 blocks away, yes, I'm lazy!) and 90 minutes later it arrives cold. I love the combination plate but this time I was very disappointed in the delivery service. 1st The lady took my order I asked for a plane shawarma sandwich, I repeated my order several times, when I get my order it was not what I requested. 2nd I received my order an hour late because she took my address wrong. I had to call three times to check on the status on my food and the same damn lady answers and puts me on hold for 8 minutes, twice in a row. We live nearby and order from Shawarma Inn on a regular basis. The beef shawarama plate is a generous portion with rice and two small salads included plus soup. The lentil soup is delicious and definitely a favorite of mine. My only disappointment is that they do not serve arab coffee. The owner gruffly informed me one day he did not want people sitting around drinking coffee and eating humus all day. By the way the hummus is also delicious and I could definitely sit around doing that all day if I had the chance. In short this place is all about the good food, simple decor and great service. This place is by far the best kabab place in Chicago for me. If you compare the price taste ratio, you can't find anything close in the country, I would say. Extremely disappointed with this place we typically order from here when we crave for shawarma which is pretty often! Ordered 6 plates total and one pita wrap spent over 100 on food because we had company food arrived and a lot of items were missing. Called restaurant 5 mins after food arrived and spoke to TWO different people about the issue in the end I was sent two chicken shawarma plate which I never ordered! Maybe things would have been fine if the two plate of chicken shawarma was good but it wasn't and we knew it doesn't travel as well as the beef that's why we do not typically order chicken for that reason. I should have taken photos of all the wasted food that my guests and I did not get to enjoy. I was even asked for my order number which was FFC5E via uber eats and still got the order wrong. Maybe this place is too popular and understaff that is why customer service and quality of food is going down hill. I might have to start going to Larsa's on Touhy and Kedzie. read more

Today i ordered Shawarma plate and Kefta plate to go, i picked it up went home and opened boxes, it appeared that they put Beef kabab plate instead of Kefta kabab. Actually Its not a big deal, but the problem is my kid asked for Kefta and i decided to call them back and just let them know that they made a mistake. But somehow, the girl i talked to became nervous and started not yelling but SCREAMING at me that i did a mistake( i thought maybe she is right.. than i asked my friend,thanks god she was next to me, and she said that i ordered kefta). Hands down my favorite place for kabobs in Chicago. I eat here often and I am never disappointed with the food. The kefta kabob platter is an awesome value, served with a salad, soup, and huge portions of rice and bread - you can't find a better dinner deal for $10 in this city. It's a small restaurant and can get busy at certain hours, but the staff is always friendly and keeps up with the crowds. Just moved down the street from Shawarma Inn and i constantly see people in there at all hours of the night. Well, that was me last night, for the first time after a few late night hours of karaoke from Hidden Cove and HOLY SHeeT. It blew my mind. The absolute best beef shawarma ive ever had. Crispy on the outside but so tender that it melted in your mouth. No fatty pieces. The lentil soup was bomb too!! Nice and hearty. Im right now finishing up my leftovers, which is still delectable, cuz they gave me such a fat plate!! Service was great too. Super sweet and fast!! Great prices, lots of good food. I pretty much love the combination plates both veggie and non, both appetizer and entree, and the fact that all entrees come with a decent sized salad and full bowl of soup is one of the amenities that will keep me coming back. Its has a fresh taste and a variety of Middle Eastern cuisine, including the beef kabob which is this restaurants signature plate. I think this is part of some franchise. Great service and unbelievable food! I came here on my lunch break and ordered the combination entrée. I did not know I would get so much food, salad, soup, huge plate of different meats and rice. I wasn't even able to finish everything, but I cant wait to try the other menu items. Shawarma Inn Shawarma Inn is located at 5533 N Lincoln Ave, Chicago in the corner of other small stores. You won't be able to see it far away because it small restaurant but you can definitely smell the food from the outside. When outside looking at the store, looks old and not well designed. Even though from the outside is not that classy or professional the inside is what matters. There are signs hanging on the door or on the walls of the store to let people know what they are selling/ cooking. There are also space for parking in front of the store when it gets to busy and there are lots of people parked outside of the store and next to it the signs are not seen because it blocks the view and the store. When you go in, as you open the door a waiter/s welcomes you in and let you have a seat and be given a big menu. The waitress are very friendly mostly there are 2 to 3 girls serving. Every 15 minutes they come and ask if you need anything else and if you like the food. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very relaxing. They have pictures of the old workers/ cooks that use to cook there many years ago. makes you think of the old style and history of the store. The seating is woody and not very comfortable. There is a big shawarma sign on the wall, because shawarma is famous in middle eastern culture and everyone asks for it when entering a middle eastern restaurant. The music is rock, and mostly they put from the radio. Not only middle easterners come to this restaurant but others come to, I mostly see indians because there food is similar to ours and they like kabab. The menu is a good size to choose from. There are multiple food, drink you may want to order. I always choose chicken with extra yellow rice side with pickles and salad also bread.The wait to for the food is usually 15 to 20 minutes. They serve the food on a white plane plate with silver forks, spoons. The Tv keeps me busy and not have to worry about when the food is served. Nothing could have been any better rather than the salad needed a lot of dressing and some spices added to it because it feels dry. Rather than that the rice is well cooked and the chicken is delicious. The rice wasn't that dry and you can eat it without choking. They also get you water on the side and whatever you order for drink that is the price I always get pepsi with my food. The bread is not thick its slightly thin and kind of burned to make it more of a taste. The price of the food was cheap if you pay for yourself only. Overall the food I get all the time it costs about $25. I Very so recommend shawarma Inn restaurant if you are looking for good warm and cozy food. read more

The great shawarma inn!! This place is just amazing because of two reasons the food type and it being 24 hours. I love this type of food and I'd rather eat this late night than McDonald's. We couldn't find parking at the parking lot because of it being very busy the time we arrived. The girl asked us how many we had and I said 4 she came and gave me menus and pointed me at the table I wanted to sit by the window but she told me I couldn't because if a big party comes in she has to make room for them. I understand that she wants to make room for a big party but she doesn't even know if one is coming and it's very weird that she really didn't let us sit there. I ordered the beef shawarma sandwich with lentil soup and the yogurt drink (dowa). Our food came out in about 15 minutes and the sandwich was good the meat has a lot of flavor but I think to much flavor beef shawarma doesn't need to much going on its a very basic thing. I tried my friends chicken shawarma and I didn't like it it was very crunchy and that disgust me. The garlic sauce they have is excellent also!! Not sure how this business is still running. I ate at this place one night, my bill was 45.90. I checked my bank account the next few days, and found out I was charged 65.90! I thought okay, they made a mistake overcharging me by 20 dollars so I went to the business to talk about this. The lady who served me that night CLEARLY denied she was working that night and stated she doesn't work Saturdays at all, but then started remembering what I had ordered and letting the others know she remembered. They pull out a twenty and try to get rid of me! I ask them to pull up my receipt from that night because I don't want them to send me off without showing me my bill, and when they find it, get this: 20 dollars tip written in somebody else's hand writing! I tell them I would never tip 20 dollars on a 40 dollar meal that I didn't even enjoy, and the lady who "claimed" to never have been working that night started saying " yes I remember you gave me 20 dollars tip" ? I was stunned at the way she blatantly lied and they were blaming me that I had written the 20 dollars. This business is involved in some shady, illegal matters and the way they were trying to get rid of me with the twenty dollars made me more insistent to stay until they pulled up my receipt. I wish I could give this place zero stars, because I've never been so badly treated and lied to. Make sure you continuously check your bank account and hold on to your receipts in this place they seemed like experts at the con they were pulling. read more
