We were seeking a shawarma wrap with juicy meat, lettuce, tomatoes, and sauce. We ordered a shawarma plate and was disappointed. The chicken shawarma was good. The beef shawarma was not good - it was dry. The meat was served on the plate and not like a "wrap". All the sides we're good.... corn salad, eggplant, calliflower, and potatoes were my favorite! This restaurant was awesome when I was younger, now its possible one of the worst in town. The service is horrible, the crew members are rude and talk down to you. The food is old and cold. I got the chicken gyro and it looks like it had been sitting all night long from yesterday. I got there at 12 noon. I asked for fresh and they looked at me like I was crazy but the next person who spoke in a different language got fresh cut chicken. All of a sudden they started speaking in a language I did not understand and laughing at me which I took as disrespectful. By the way I did not even eat my food. I want to like it more, but my initial visit was just OK. It is a very simple operation. Spanish is the dominant language to be heard which is great with me but almost a bit telling as to the authenticity of the food. I had the combination platter the chicken and beef were both a little dry and the pita bread simply wasn't fresh. I ordered ice tea but was not offered a refill and had to go searching for the source of the tea. Self service is fine, but I would just prefer to understand more fully the way things operate there. Pretty ah-mazing chicken kabobs!!! The hummus and tabouli are pretty delicious also! I went during lunch hours and the service was pretty quick and friendly. I get that the name of this place is SHAWARMA King , but their kabobs blow the shawarma outta the water!! The kabobs I assume are marinated over night bc the flavour is just ridiculously yummy!!! The shawarmas are OK, I've had WAY better, and personally not a fan of the shawarmas meat taste. It's pretty fattening as is any shawarma meat. You are better off getting the chicken kabob because it's both lean and delicious! Tabouli and hummus are extremely fresh and they bring out pita bread presented on a nice plate. Okay. This blissful sandwich put a lot of shawarmas to shame yo! Succulent grilled chicken, nice warm grilled pita bread, amazing aromatic garlic aioli, lettuce and BAM. Perfectly simple Shawarma. Had the pleasure of lunching on their patio in gorgeous 65° winter weather and I loved every second it. Service prompt and fairly freindly. I really wanted to like this place. However, my first time hear, came during a late lunch around 1:30pm. Had the beef shwarma, the beef had great taste, but a bit dry. They didn't put any lettuce, or tomatoes (one slice). They were generous with the beef, and price was around 6$. Cant complain about the price. Wrap itself was ok, wish it had more garlic. I lived in Dubai for 10 years before moving to the states so I know what a great shawarma should taste like. After reading tons of reviews, I expected this place to live up to the hype and unfortunately, it didn't at all. The restaurant is spacious and clean which was a plus but I wasn't impressed with the food. I came here looking for a bomb chicken shawarma and that was all but it was so disappointing. I even got extra garlic on the side (which was great) but that still didn't do it for me. The chicken was a little dry and not as good as I expected it to be. The shawarma was bigger than I expected but still not worth it. I would take a smaller, more flavorful shawarma over a big one that's just okay. I also ordered falafel on the side which was good. On the plus side, Houston has endless Mediterranean restaurants so my hunt for an amazing, authentic chicken shawarma continues. read more

I've been here a couple of times with my partner and every time I go it's pretty fantastic. Their hummus is literally the best hummus that he and I have ever tasted; we constantly rave about it and send people their way to try it. The food is fantastic, simply wonderful. The only reason why I give it a 4 star is because of the eggplant. I usually get the vegetarian dish or maybe the half chicken. But the eggplant is either too dry or too oily from being there too long. The only reason why I'm criticizing it is because the first time I ever had it, it was perfect. Crunchy, a little bit of oily goodness, and pact with flavor. It's just been lacking a bit everytime I go now. I definitely recommend this place otherwise. What an adorable hole-in-the-wall place! Yes, parking is a little difficult and maneuvering in that area may pose a challenge during heavy traffic, but it's SO worth it! And what I absolutely loved was the fact that they were not stingy with the garlic sauce. So many places are... and when I get a shawarma I understand that I'm getting meat with garlic sauce wrapped in a pita bread. Not chicken with a slight drizzle hinting at some garlic wrapped in bread. The only aspect that saddened me was the tomato slice in the shawarma. Yes, I AM a tomato snob. But there's so few things I'm snobbish about, that I figure this is okay. They used the greenhouse watery tomatoes with almost no taste. I would definitely pay 50 cents more for my sandwich if they were to use better tomatoes. Easily. The restaurant had many other options besides the shawarma sandwiches. Most people seemed to get the plates and enjoy the service there. I was in a rush, so I got it to go. But for the plates they had half chickens, stuffed cabbages, the grape vine leaves wraps (I don't know what they're actually called), and so much more. But overall, DELICIOUS! I love the chicken shwarma sandwich here. The price is very reasonable for the quality and authenticity of this place. I used to live in Kuwait and I loved eating shwarmas off the street vendors. The shwarmas here are the closest to the ones off of those Kuwaiti street vendors . I think it's a good place to dine in for lunch. It's quick and inexpensive. One shawarma sandwich is pretty filling for me. I used to eat it plain, until I discovered they have a whole area where you can go and let them know what extra veggies or fillings you want in the sandwich. I went here for my bday and I ordered about $100+ of food and after we started eating I was low on garlic sauce. I asked for some extra and he wanted me to to pay an extra $1. If understand that they might charge for extra sauce, but I don't feel like in the given circumstance it was worth the hassle on their end.
