Service was very friendly and lightning fast. It took about two minutes for my bowl to be ready. I took my bowl to-go, and It was a very good size portion. I added feta cheese and so my grand total was about $16. My bowl had chicken shawarma, yellow rice, lettuce, pickles, tomatoes & feta cheese. I chose Shack sauce (spicy) and garlic sauce to top my bowl. The sauces were fabulous & the rice was fresh and super fluffy. Yum! This is a great shawarma spot. Definitely stop by & try it. I came here thinking that I'm going to get the cream chicken chop nachos, but when I got there, the menu is different from what I've seen online. There is no nachos and more tragically, there is no cream chicken chop! The loaded fries was still an option though, so I ordered that and asked if it's possible to swap out the fries for pita chips and they said yes. Yay! They just took the nachos off the menu... I don't know why. Why? Nachos is life. Both the beef shawarma and the chicken sounded good to me and they suggested that I do half and half and that was absolutely music to my ears. First time ordering from this place. I had a beef shawarma and chicken shawarma bowl. Portion sizes were very inconsistent. The beef portion was good. Plenty of large chunks of meat, balanced with good portions of the toppings that all blended well with the sauce... delicious! On the other hand, the chicken bowl barely had any chicken, mostly tasted like raw red onions and rice... they also tossed in few olives and some pickles. Great place!!! First timer! Explained to the cashier I was sent to San Diego to work from LA. Cashier was awesome and helped me every step of the way. You can basically build your own entree. I ordered a falafel wrap, no tomato or lettuce. I didn't want it to sog up my wrap. I'm not a big eater and cashier offered to cut in half and wrap one of the halves Togo. I loved the wrap!! Got our order for pick up and it was a good experience. With online order I thought maybe it wouldn't be as seamless but they did a good job at customization. The flavors were pretty on point and I would say they chicken Shawarma burrito was a perfect thinness on the wrap versus a traditional tortilla wrap that you would find at Kebab Shop. The plates and everything else was pretty good. The yellow rice was buttery and plentiful. We got an à la cart order of the rice and the fries and 16 ounce chicken. I would say we ordered way too much chicken because my kids probably ate half of that. Very solid Mediterranean food! My friend and I get the bowls and they never disappoint! Good portions and great flavors! Love their gyro meat more than any other place I've tried in SD. You know, I really wanted to love this place. Time after time they've let me down, today was it for me. Been here a couple of times now and it's so tasty. The chicken shawarma is very flavorful. Lots of good choices for free add-ons like olives, pepperoncini peppers, beets, onions and more. Choice of 2 sauces on the wrap or on the side...many to choose from. We chose the yellow rice as our base but you can also get greens or fries. See their full menu for all options. This experience fell short on several levels... Unfortunately, we were shortchanged on our food a few different ways. This may not have been intentional, but it definitely leaves a bad taste in one's mouth, especially when it was our first time ordering from this establishment. The Shawarma Plate was in need of something... The chicken lacked the traditional spices and curing that classic chicken shawarma is known for. In fact, it tasted more like carved whole chicken than traditional shawarma. The gyros meat was also a little off. It just didn't have the spices and curing that traditional rotisserie gyros normally has. Also, the toppings were placed in the corner of the plate, rather than being true toppings on top of the meat. Even the Middle Eastern salad was unconventional. It contained brown malt vinegar, rather than red wine vinegar and lemon juice. Furthermore, The pita bread tasted as if it was straight out of the package, rather than warmed on the grill. The seasoned fries were anything but seasoned, as they completely lacked any seasoning whatsoever (see photo). The dark regions are not seasoning, rather they were fried way too long to the point where they were brown, hard, and dry. I was really looking forward to trying their seasoned fries with the spices that are referred to on their menu. The coup de gras was when we noticed that there were only 3 Loukoumades instead of the 4 that we paid for (see photo). Another oversight that cumulatively added up to a rather disappointing experience. read more

I assume he was not the owner speaking to us like that, my spouse is acquainted with the owners family and it was a FYI statement only. He said they buy them from a vendor. He offered some donuts. I noticed that he didn't bother taking the baklava off the shelf just in case or try one himself to test them. We come here mostly because they are pretty good about food allergies. However, I was super disappointed with the portion size of the falafel wrap. The wrap is $12.99 and only contains 3 falafel balls even though it's the cheapest protein by far for them. The portion makes no sense when a falafel 4 piece is $4.99. The rest of the wrap is a pita, veggies, and rice; so the value just isn't there. Even The Kebab Shop is a much larger portion for about the same price.
