The new facilities are nice, clean and spacious but I'm sure the cost trickles down to the customers. :[ My regular service advisor isn't in, bummer. Richard has been my service advisor the last two visits. He's efficient, nice, helpful and informative. I appreciate the service videos (thanks Dean!) that are sent so I can compare from one visit to the next as well as "lay eyes on the issues and repairs". I visited Sheehy Subaru of Springfield (VA) on Sept 27, 2025 after emailing the store a documented quote from another Subaru dealer well in advance. My assigned sales rep, Chas, was polite and professional -- he really knows about cars and likes his job. The issue was with the General Sales Manager, Chris Barr. He is rude, unprofessional, and disrespectful: He repeatedly interrupted me and discouraged me from explaining what I needed. He refused to engage with my written quote as a baseline and instead presented a substantially higher, non-competitive offer. When I pointed out the pricing gap, he questioned the legitimacy of my quote in a dismissive tone and essentially told me to leave if I wouldn't accept. BUYER ATTENTION: This was the only dealership--across all my recent visits to Subaru, Honda, Mazda, Toyota, Volvo, BMW, and Audi stores--where I experienced this level of rudeness. I've purchased cars in California and Michigan and never encountered this approach. There are MANY Subaru dealers nearby; buyers do not need to settle for this experience. Importantly, I completed my purchase the same day at another Subaru dealership with a respectful experience and a competitive discount. Even a few dealerships that couldn't match the price still maintained a professional, constructive attitude, leaving the door open for future business--exactly how it should be. read more

I went to Sheehy Subaru just to look since I never had been to a Subaru dealership before. From the time I stepped out of my car until the time I bought a car I never felt pressured. I had a team who worked with me and each person came and introduced themselves to me. It made such a huge impact on me and especially after I went to another dealership (different manufacturer) and they acted as if they did not want to be bothered. We needed a replacement car and by chance stopped by here. I am so glad we did. We found a great used 2016 Forester and after seeing all the CarFax data showing the history of service it got over the years, we knew it was the one. So disappointed We drove out here because we love Springfield, but upon arriving we weren't greeted and after 15 minutes of walking around and looking still no one greeted us. I do want to start with the staff is very polite. We bought a 2018 used car. 3 weeks after we bought the car, the engine died while I was driving. They took about a month to repair for free because it was under warranty. We got a ticket because when they were test driving they drove 38 in a 25 mile per hour zone near a school. When we called them about it, they required us to come in person to show them the ticket instead of sending them a picture. read more

Our Subarus are efficient and safe and we are delighted w the support we have received from Sheehy. Really happy with the service we received here with Raj and then Lisa from finance. Come here if you want a full explanation of a car, one model vs the other and opportunity to test drive the vehicle on the highway. This is the largest Subaru in the area, so they have many Subaru's in the lot that you can view to see the different colors, etc. We had been to other Subaru dealerships and were very disappointed with the level of customer service we received at those. Everything was fully explained and we were given the time we needed to make a decision at Sheehy. They have a model inside, so if you are looking in the winter, I imagine that this would be helpful so you aren't standing outside in the cold. Their parking lot is quite tight, which can be annoying, but certainly tests your driving skills. They were COVID safe, desks 6ft apart with hand sanitizer offered and everyone wearing masks. This is much better than the Toyota dealership which was a machine and did not have the desks 6ft apart. Once you purchase a car, they walk you through all the features and give you some time to ask questions. About 25 days later (or so) they encourage you to come back to the dealership and can answer any additional questions that you have now after you've been riding in it for a few weeks. I had a wonderful experience leasing my Subaru from Sheehy Subaru of Springfield yesterday! I had been in the market for a new vehicle for a few weeks, and was feeling quite discouraged at the lack of inventory and high prices. I submitted online inquiries and entered into discussions with multiple dealers in my area over email/text. I decided to go with Sheehy for two reasons: they offered the best price on the vehicle I was looking for (out of 8 dealers in the area), and the sales rep, Casey Wilder, provided excellent customer service from the moment she responded to my initial online inquiry through to closing. My 2021 Crosstrek was making a weird bumping movement. Took it to a mechanic I trust. He said should not be happening in such a young car and that it should be covered under warranty so go to dealership. I went to Sheehy Subaru Springfield, VA, where I bought it. Sheehy had my contact info wrong, even though I had corrected them 3 times in last year. They said I had no warranty at all. I said this should be covered. Codes were P000A, P000D and P0024. Sheehy recommended replacing the 4 OSVs, oil flush, etc. For this they quoted $1650. Recommended another $4k of services too. I phd the corporate office. They said I had extended power train warranty until 2027. After much back n forth, Corporate basically said they would cover all but $225. Except now Sheehy would only replace one valve. Why not replace them all as they told me I should when they thought I would be paying? They never answered that. They gave me a loaner car but then said I had to return it, then that I could keep it. I had to pay for a rental for one of the weekends. They called to say car was ready but it wasnt - took another few days. I spoke to 5-6 different people, all very nice, at Sheehy during those 2 weeks. It was very stressfull and finally I paid the $225 because I wanted my car back! I asked to be called by manager at Sheehy and also Corporate. I never heard from either one. Corporate would not return my emails nor phone calls. I still feel I was never treated honestly, that I had been cheated. I worry now that something else is going to happen to my car. I will never go back to Sheehy Subaru. read more

It has been a while since I bought a new car. Sheehy Subaru made my experience much easier than what I suspected. I knew lots of things had changed since my last purchase, but Stephanie Campos and Chris Barr made it as painless as possible. We discussed different cars over the phone and by the time I got to the dealer, they had the car prepped for me. They even swapped it out for a different color when I inquired about that. Better yet, Stephanie and Chris originally answered by inquiry about a used model, but when we began to discuss the options, I got a new car for less than what competing dealers were selling the used ones for (same model). This isn't the case of my payments were lower, no, no no. The whole price car + fees was less than the used ones at other dealers. I cannot thank them enough for their customer service and attention to detail. I usually do not write reviews unless it has been a good experience since the world can sometimes be so negative about everything. These folks certainly earned this positive review. Purchased my first Subaru! My sales agent was Mohamed Ameyar. He is the nicest person there! He didn't appear pushy, and he was helpful with my questions throughout and addressed my questions about safety and features. He also was very informative about the different car options and seemed honest and upfront. He's very personable. And helped me through the purchase process and even after I purchased the car he helped me with questions and after action items in the following days. He's very responsive to your inquiries and email. Take into consideration we're in the middle of the covid car shortage, so you're likely going to pay more than the Kelly blue book value. Only reason why I deducted a star. Not because of my sales agent. Unless you want to spend all your energy playing the negotiation game, you'll need to accept the fact you're competing with other aggressive buyers and it's a sellers market. My car was reaching end of life and this seemed like the best deal I could get across different dealers (for this make and model). Though if I had more time (and energy), I might've sold my old car on my own to get a better value. Fortunately Chris (the Manager) was willing to work with me a little and address my concerns. Lisa was also great at explaining the price breakdowns and warranties. She also seemed very honest when helping me decide what I NEED vs being too pushy. I don't like pushy people ;) Mohamed gave me a tour of the service area when I dropped in today to make sure I knew how to navigate the premises. Chris and Mohamed also made sure to introduce me Benji who is their features specialist, and he quickly solved my problems (user error on my part!). Everyone was personable, informative, and attentive. My service today was quick. To add, I looked at other Subaru dealerships and the people here seemed "real" and I was turned off by the other places I reached out to. So, it is with a heavy heart that I am writing this update. I've had very positive experiences with them in the past, but the last time I brought my wife's Subaru in for AC service they tried to sell me work that was not needed. They told me that the side marker light was out, I declined because I can change that in a few minutes. Well, when I brought the car home, the side marker light was working just fine. The car even passed the VA safety inspection. Another item they tried to upsell was legitimate, brake fluid change. I confirmed it with the owners manual, it was due at the car's mileage. But what I did not appreciate was the young kid on the phone telling me I couldn't change the fluid myself because I did not have the special "pressure machine". In all fairness the kid was not completely wrong. There is a way that generations of car guys have been changing their own brake fluid without this special pressure machine. Youtube it. I did not feel like having a technical discussion with the young kid on the phone, so I just ended the conversation. So, in summary they tried to upsell me about $10-20 for a side marker light that was working just fine; the car passed VA state inspection with the same "broken" light. read more

Yesterday (5/29/25) went to buy new 2025 Subaru Outback Limited XT from Bee at Sheehy Subaru. I had agreed the price and received the Sheehy online offer from my low mileage trade-in via email before going to the dealer. When I arrived, they reappraised the offer, reducing it by $1,400; the car is in pristine shape with very low miles, no dents or issues. Classic "bait-and-switch" technique, disguised (am sure to avoid law suites) as a "verification". Bee admitted that it was a new initiative by Sheehy to get people to come into the dealer. He seemed a bit embarrassed and apologetic. I didn't negotiate and left. Promptly went to Beyer Subaru and bought a 2025 Subaru Outback Limited XT, for a much better price and much better trade in value, with no hassle or haggling. In and out of Beyer in less than 60 minutes. I would avoid Sheehy Subaru if looking for a straightforward, stress free, honest transaction. read more

I'll try to keep this short. We bought a vehicle from Sheehy Subaru in November of 2023. That part of the experience was great as far as how buying a car from a dealership typically is. Everyone was extremely friendly. Three weeks later when we hadn't received our tags from the DMV and the temps were getting close to expiring is when the shenanigans started. We were told that the DMV was behind, and they "overnighted" a new set of temp tags to us. I put that in quotes because it took 3 or 4 days for us to get our new temps. Blame it on Fed Ex, fine, no big deal. After the holidays, we started getting close to the second set of temp tags expiring. Before contacting the dealership, we checked with the DMV to ask them, in person, if they'd received any paperwork regarding the vehicle we bought. They hadn't received anything, so clearly, the issue is not with the DMV. We contacted the dealership again and got the same run around. We're now on our third set of temp tags. Most recently, they told us that the issue is with the bank and that they'll "look into it" and get back to us. We haven't heard from them since. I've spoken with the bank, and they have not received the perfected lien, which is issued by the DMV. The DMV issues the perfected lien within 42 days of receipt of the paperwork from the dealership. It's been well over 42 days since the vehicle was purchased, meaning that despite all the excuses and deflections and attempts to make us believe the issue is elsewhere, the dealership is holding up the process. Now, I need to clarify, when we would call, we often had to leave messages. Those calls would go unreturned, so we'd have to keep calling until we could actually talk to someone about the issue with the tags. Most times, we got "let me check with so-and-so and get back to you" and no one would get back to us. Not a single person we've spoken to at that dealership has been able to give us a straight answer as to what the actual hold up is, who is responsible, and what needs to happen in order for us to get our plates. They got their money, they have no incentive to care about "customer service" anymore. read more

My wife and I purchased a new 2021 Subaru Forrester in Fall of 2021. We were excited to purchase a vehicle with a high safety rating as we geared up to start a family. On 10/28/22, I dropped the Forrester off at Sheehy Subaru of Springfield dealership for an oil change and tire rotation. I thought I would do something nice for my wife; I added a car detail service. On 10/29/22, I awoke to a voicemail stating that there had been an incident with our vehicle. Jonah, the manager, seemed sincerely upset, and gave assurances. I was shown our damaged vehicle at the nearby detailing company that the dealership uses: Pure Polish. Pure Polish is where the vehicle incident occurred, not the dealership. Jonah has been helpful in helping us to navigate this process. My insurance had the vehicle evaluated for an estimate, which is required for the diminished value claim we have to file against the insurance of Pure Polish, in order to be compensated for the drop in asset value after the incident (the vehicle is only a year old and was accident-free). We are thankful for: No one got hurt. The dealership provided a loaner vehicle to us. Jonah has been very helpful during this inconvenient time. We will be compensated for repair costs. We will be compensated for vehicle diminished value. We are concerned about: Heightened risk of future issues with the damaged vehicle. We didn't feel like the dealership's first priority after the incident; we had to do our own research regarding the pursuit of compensation for our negative impacts. It felt like the dealership prioritized its business alliance with Pure Polish, over us, their customer. read more

I purchased a new Forester from Sheehy Subaru Springfield (VA)in December 2022 and they promised great customer service. The salesman was helpful. I had problems with my sound and then accessing GPS and I went in to service to learn that they had an upgrade. Why had no letter, email or call gone out to notify me? The GPS problem was never fixed and I went in for multiple times to hear service tell me that they saw no problem and it must be my cell phone. My husband had problems accessing some apps in the car as well. My GPS problem was never fixed and I grew worried because I was plugging/unplugging the cable as I drove or in a dangerous looking strip mall. I contacted management and suddenly the service asked me to leave the car which I did on 9/11/23. About four weeks later, service asked me for a picture of the cables saying that could be the issue. I sent a picture to them. They spoke of replacing a hub port. I spoke with family and friends who never heard of such problems and suggested I ask for a new car with a built-in GPS. I did. Today, I spoke with a senior customer advocate for Subaru Corporate who claims that service said they cannot help me because they cannot 'duplicate' my situation. Subaru is offering me nothing today. Service is lying because they never mentioned it. Why would service keep a new car for 4 weeks claiming they are doing research, and provide no improvements? They want me to get my vehicle after doing nothing to it for four weeks in their shop. It is dishonest and poor customer service. I asked the advocate for the Subaru Springfield's owner contact information and she did not provide it. I got a general mgr's contact and was told he is busy. I had tried reaching the owner and a mgr on my own but they did not respond to my emails and/or calls when I called Sheehy Springfield and asked to be put through. I fear for my safety as I depend on a GPS and was plugging and unplugging the cable to try and get it to work. Your service people were still researching the problem for nearly 4 weeks until they asked me for pictures of my cables which I sent them. I have owned Honda and Kias and thought a Subaru would be an improvement. I was wrong. My family and friends are shocked at my treatment and lack of care. I was not respected as a customer and I would not advise anyone to shop there. read more
