We came if a cheeky dessert and a perfectly delicious cup of Jasmine tea. Even thought it was super quiet and almost closing time , we were served with a smile, did not feel rush and the food was beautifully presented. Our respective tea pots got refilled as much as we wanted and I was most pleasantly surprised by the yumminess of my chocolate lava cake. I must come back for more.

First time at Shelby's. Originally opened many years prior to the pandemic by a local resident and her daughter, I understand Shelby's is under new ownership with a great menu. At lunch yesterday, we received both a special's menu and regular lunch menu. Entree selections ranged from $16-high $20s with salads, quesadillas, sandwiches, etc. We ordered two of the specials which were salad of grilled chicken/grilled peaches/goat cheese/avocado/tomato and assorted lettuce with a light Dijon vinaigrette. Very light and delicious; a definite re-order if available again. We also had a pulled pork quesadilla with a side salad and freshly made salsa. Friend said it was very tasty too. Indoor and outdoor seating is plentiful. Service is friendly and parking can be validated (if you park in the garage under Theatre Square shops and restaurants). Otherwise, street parking is only for 1 or 2 hours maximum. Enjoy!

Poor atmosphere and the signature Chinese chicken salad is some lettuce leaves with some boiled shredded chicken. Not good.

We have visited a number of times over the years. We sometimes make it a stop along the route between our home, and Walnut Creek, where we spend a fair amount of time, because, frankly, Walnut Creek's dining and entertainment scene beats the heck out of pretty much any other city in the East Bay - and is safer. So, The Fourth Bore is a worthy destination for good food and drinks. We've gotten the mushroom pizza every time we've been in, it's very good. The Fourth Bore is also a tap room, so great selection of beers, and unlike many beer places, this one also sports a full bar, with great cocktails. They have a nice patio with a fire pit, perfect for colder nights. The other night we asked for the fire to be put on for visuals, but it proved to emit way too much heat for an August night. In the winter, however, it's perfect. Grab a seat, settle in with some yummy pizza and a cocktail or beer of choice, and enjoy!

We have been here and a few times before seating inside and out. This evening it was out next to the fire pit which we had them turn on for us then realizing how hot the fire was and the outside temp, had them turn it off. Andrea a beer and berry lemon drops and I had had some champs. I tasted her drinks and they were excellent. When I'm driving I'm a bit of a tea totaler so stuck with a glass of champs. We've had the aforementioned pizza before and I for one would pull off the 24 just for that. Parking can be difficult since it is right downtown, as much of a downtown Orinda has. The place is not right on the street. It's tucked away in a plaza. Great beer selection and full bar. Besides pizza the menu is full of burgers, wings, mac and cheese and just about anything else you would want. Next times I'm going to try a few more selections like burgers, Philly cheese steak and others.

Blue neon arches, a huge underwater mural, plush chairs and low tables along the back wall. Worth the detour. Chris was working the bar on his second day and greeted us like a regular. I skipped my usual Manhattan and went with the Smoke Break, bourbon with bitters, smoke and black cherry. He nailed it. That is the one I would order again. Kudos to Chris for making the smoke linger and make the drink taste fantastic. I had this one in Oregon and it was cool but Chris did a better job with his method that really did serious justice to the name. My wife wanted the Cucumber Cooler, but they were out of cucumber. She pivoted to Sauvignon Blanc, and they were out of that too. The wine list runs four whites and four reds, so there is not much room to maneuver if the cocktails are not your thing. Chris read the situation, offered up a Paper Airplane since she wanted something refreshing, and put it on the house. Classic good bartending. It was louder than expected for how few people were in the room. On a Saturday with a DJ, music and dancing, I would guess the volume gets close to a rave. Go Tuesday or Wednesday if you want to hear the person across from you, and you will probably catch them fully stocked. My guess is weekends clean them out. Cocktails run 16 to 18 dollars. There is also a 300 dollar tequila and cognac number called La Maria served in a glass rimmed with gold dust, if you have something to celebrate. Happy hour is Tuesday through Friday, 3 to 5. They are on the ground floor of the Waymark apartments at 121 Pringle Ave with a small patio out front and heaters. Great spot to hang out and talk with friends, and a good pre dinner or post dinner stop rather than a destination for the whole night. When those doors shut you are transported somewhere neat. I would go again.

There were cozy seating options but since it was fairly packed, we sat at the bar. Loved to see such a big turnout but this place feels like it only has space for ~20 people comfortably. They offer 1 oz, half glass, or full glass pours for each of the wine on tap. The wine on tap is mostly their wine pairings for the month. I love the concept and definitely tried a couple wines to decide which book I should read! Overall pretty cozy and intimate. The book selection is pretty small and curated. The shelves are tall and they have the moving ladder! Very beauty and the beast library-like! Would be good to come with one other person or solo to have some cozy reading time. I could only imagine this place would be a dream for a small book club! I know they have a couple events like that every month and would love to come check one out someday.

Good for a lively night out, not for a quiet conversation. Would I return? Not sure. Food: Good for what it is, but definitely on the pricier side. The steak frites were the highlight. Fries were abundant and heavily truffled, and the hangar steak was a delight. The mussels, on the other hand, were average and served not very hot, with a pretty plain sauce. The two pieces of bread that came with it weren't nearly enough to handle the whole dish. The short rib was tender but slightly dry, though the polenta and carrots underneath were a nice touch. Drinks: The tea thyme was a bit too fragrant, almost perfume-like. Tasted fine, but next time I'd probably go boozier instead. The lemonade was plain, but that's to be expected. Ambiance: Quite noisy, with a few TVs going and the bar packed. Understandable for a Friday, but we had to raise our voices to hold a conversation, even at a 5:30 reservation. Things really picked up around 6-6:15pm. Service: Our server did her job and gave solid suggestions when asked, though I don't recall her introducing herself. She kept us stocked with extra plates and silverware and took good care of us overall.
