An 'usie' spot at the lovely Sheldon.

Incredible jewel of a venue. Eclectic and well curated art gallery, gorgeous concert hall with phenomenal acoustics. Very well run too by staff and volunteers.

Black Violin full circle tour 2025!!!! I was very uneducated on this gem , which is close to the Fox Theater, I repeatedly use the parking lot which sits right across the street from this building and never noticed. My apologies! This is an art gallery/concert venue. Parking is street parking and or parking lots that charges $15/ $20 . Check website for more information! Venue is well lit, seats are comfortable, seating is compact. In my opinion no bad seat in the building since this is a smaller venue. I believe it holds like 712 ppl. Staff friend and helpful and eager to assist. Restrooms nice size! Black violinist and opening act Abraham Alexander were very professional, talented and engaged well with the audience. Speakers were in tune with the music as well as the microphone. Plenty of strobe lights and dark lights to keep you intrigued. Monies well spent, performances started on time with one intermission. FYI you can bring in one empty water bottle. I will definitely check this venue out for more upcoming shows.

My husband and I saw Roger McGuinn of the Byrds. The acoustics in The Sheldon are great and there really is not a bad seat in the house. They have recently done some remodeling and have full bars on main and upper floor. Plenty of bathrooms for intermission. We were tipped off that you can ride the elevator or take the stairs to the 4th floor for no wait for a bathroom. Plenty of parking. Parking lot next door, across the street and a parking garage within easy walking distance. They wet all charging $20. You can do free street parking farther down Washington or one of the side streets, but you are taking your chances on a break in. Otherwise, the area is safe when the crowds are present.

As a performer I enjoyed this intimate venue. Their green rooms and dressing rooms are spacious for the right size cast and their accommodations take some of the stress off of performing. They offered teas, honeys, and kitchen space to prepare or indulge before or after your show(s). Their ballroom upstairs was more elaborate than I ever imagined and the views were stunning. The house provided an acoustic experience that made the audience feel surrounded by us. That is a feeling you wish for the closest seat all the way to the last row. I believe it was achieved. The crew from lighting to sound were helpful and gracious. With the short time we spent during our black out rehearsals, they rocked and they rolled with every slight change and major production adjustment. Great place to witness living art. Even better place to showcase it. Check out a show or two!

This was my second time at the Sheldon. I love the old style of the theater, but it sure is not very comfortable. The seats are definitely not made for tall people, wooden seats with small padding on the part you sit on. Not much legroom at all. I am 6 foot tall and sat on the second row of the balcony and I had a hard time during the show seeing over the guys head in front of me. I constantly had to Bob back-and-forth to try to see the singer. It also was not very handicap friendly facility. The restrooms were between the concert hall and the art gallery section. If you had to go during the concert, you are going to miss quite a bit of it as it took a while to get to them. They did mention that they are in the process of renovating hopefully they'll have restrooms closer and maybe redoing the seating area? Fingers crossed.

My husband and I attended Festival of the Seasons at the Sheldon and the experience was fantastic! First up; the staff: absolutely amazing. Every single person I spoke to on staff greeted me warmly and was as helpful as could be! Second up; the seats: if you're a fuller figured person you will have some issues here. The seats are pretty narrow and there's really no space between you and your neighbors the acoustics: an audiophile's DREAM. We were seated ALL the way up at the tippy top and it sounded like we were in the sweet spot; every single person we spoke to thought THEY were in the sweet spot! There is truly no bad seat at The Sheldon. They were selling snacks and cocktails at the bar and though we didn't partake, everything looked delicious! I will definitely be back to The Sheldon! Pro tip: if your event has merch, get there early! There's usually only one stall and the line (though moved through VERY efficiently) can get pretty long.

This was my first time at the Sheldon. It is a beautiful space. I was there for a talk and book signing. You entered on the ground floor, then went up two flights of stairs, then entering the room, you walked down steps to get to a seat. The speaker was easy to hear, and the presentation was easy to see. There were elevators to accommodate those who don't like stairs. There was street parking and a lot directly across the street for $15. The only thing unpleasant about the whole night was the nasty parking attendant. He was unnecessarily rude to me and the 4 or 5 cars of females I heard him talk to after I parked. Other than that, the Sheldon is a great place to visit.

Gorgeous older building! There is ample parking nearby. The seats are not comfortable, but they are beautiful and it is really about the performance. There are art galleries, the hall where the performances are, and then there is a gorgeous ballroom. The event we attended had a dinner add-on before the show. The meal was served in the ballroom. If I was having an event, the ballroom is lovely and has great views. In an era where customer service is almost a joke, the Sheldon maintains it to almost an art form. It seems like they love what they do.

No concerts today but we stopped by for the art. And there was LOTS of art. Mostly modern (not contemporary - that's next door!) art and interesting innovative pieces. I liked the music hall with the classic instruments. I mean, who doesn't love a Mongolian fiddle? The beautiful golden heart "The Heart Called Orchid" was beautiful. The trash exhibit, not so much. Masks required and apparently advance reservations but it was slow so they let us in. [Review 14446 overall, 1772 of 2020, number 80 in Missouri.]

I do love attending concerts at this St. Louis city treasure. Every event that I've been to has been general admission. But, being a smaller, more intimate venue, there's not a bad seat in the house and it has fantastic acoustics. Thoroughly enjoyed a fabulous classical piano concert by Einav Yarden. Parking is a cinch at the bargain price of only $10.00 on their private parking lot. Restrooms are super clean and well maintained for an aged building. Know before you go, the Sheldon still has Covid restrictions. Masks and proof of vaccination are required. Planning a return daytime visit to checkout the art galleries.

Stopped in as we were walking by to see what kind of art was at Sheldon. I believe my favorite was the music hall. O saw some very interesting instruments I had no idea even existed. There was other very nice displays of art throughout the museum. My mom will love the heart.

Tonight I went to a wedding at this venue and had an absolute blast!! Firt the ceremony was in the concert hall. As you walk in their was an usher taking people to their seats. The seats were very comfortable and you had room to stretch, if needed. After the ceremony, they had the reception in the ballroom above the hall. The food they served was to die for plus the dj was great also!! My only complaint was I wish they had more restrooms for everyone. I unfortunately had to wait to use it after the ceremony.

Never would have thought our…read morefirst night's meal would have been some Cajun Creole food in St Louis style BBQ Country We were so pleased with our decision as their food rivaled anything in New Orleans. As an avid oyster lover, never would have guessed we would have the option for charred grilled oysters in Missouri. We demolished those in minutes and quickly moved on to our entree I ordered the jambalaya and the size the spices we're so flavorful. The shrimp was on point and the chicken almost tasted like seafood plus the andouille sausage was spicy without being too hot. I know tough decision to choose from but that was a slam dunk that we highly recommend! Walking throughout the establishment you could tell it totally had that Voodoo deep New Orleans vibe going on that makes you feel like it belongs in the French Quarters If you're ever in the Lou and in the mood for some good Creole Cajun food, this is the spot!

I've never been to a bad show here. It also helps that there are other things to do and eat in the area. You want a date night rock show? This area is perfect for that. I'm prompted to this review because this last show was the first time I've sit up top. Results may vary from venue to venue when it comes to sitting up top. I'm not sure but in the future, I might opt to sit up top for every show. Sometimes you run the risk of the sound bouncing off back walls and ceilings which can make things miserable if you're catching the sound from multiple directions. I'm happy to report the sound is contained in this venue. To begin, all 4 of these bands have perfected their live sound. That definitely helps in small and large venues alike. If any of your favorites roll through here, you owe it to yourself to attend. The only peeve I had this time was the merch. It's a bit odd how this venue handles merch. There were multiple locations for the merch inside the venue. Dayseeker merch was in the big room up front but my question... why not put all the acts in one room? they were spread out which also led to mass confusion with multiple long lines snaking and intersecting with each other. Aside from that, A+ venue. Will continue visiting in the future.

I would always call the box office to be sure of the layout before buying tickets. I saw Qveen Herby and Thot Squad (May 20th) and it was a safe vibe of all types of people. The check in process was smooth and someone helped me to my seat up stairs. I enjoyed the show but my accessible seat kind of sucked because once folks stood up I couldn't see. I asked some other people to help me be a mood killer and kindly ask others to sit down, but the venue should adjust those seats one more time. Also they should go back to just being a smoking building because everyone was vaping and the smell of smoke and marijuana was very pronounced! Either crack down hard or let the people smoke it up. Accessibility note: there is not enough parking so get an uber or pray to the parking goddesses. There is stepless entry but if your seat is upstairs, you will need a proper staff member to key in the elevator for you. I waited over 10 minutes for assistance (they bought me a drink tomorrow ease that soreness). Bring headphones or ear plugs as the whole suite booms! Don't be afraid to tell folks down in front because you cannot see.

The old lady bar tender on inside bar took two extra dollars from me (I guess thinking I wasn't gonna tip? ) despite me leaving three on the bar and me pointing it out to her. Then a very very large brown haired curly bearded man completely ignored me at the bar, at like 4pm it was me standing directly in front of the bar by myself while he had co convos and gave bar backs shots. I couldn't have made this up.. I couldn't think of anything to even say to address that wasnt not kind or out of pocket so I left. It was an unreal experience and from what I've heard about management just from patrons there they wouldn't care anyway, it was alienating and gross behavior.
