I am a single woman on a fixed income and I needed a catalytic converter installed in my jeep I bought the part at an auto parts store took it to Sheldon to install I paid $600 for the part and 250 for the installation and they called informed me it was ready to be picked up, I took the car back two days later and told them it was not fixed and I needed them to pull the catalytic converter out because there was something wrong with it they claimed it was a tranny issue I got that checked out, not a tranny issue! they did this back in August we have gone back-and-forth I've asked them to pull it so I can return it to the auto parts store because there's something wrong with it and they refuse to do that! the things that they've claimed about the rotten egg smell in my car that I'm breathing on a regular basis is not happening! They claimed that it piped out the muffler supposedly I googled this and it's absolutely not true!! this company is a rip off to women! do not ever take your car there they owe me $850 and I am preparing a lawsuit for much more, due to health issues that have come up breathing all of the exhaust fumes in my car from the catalytic converter!!! they're outright thieves!!!! read more

Phenomenal Service! Sheldon's Custom Muffler is a lifesaver with my 2013 Buick Enclave. My mechanic (who was booked) recommended I contact Justin & Chase at Sheldon's as I needed an alternator. Sheldon's diagnosed my car problems that same day & had me repaired by the next day. My car starts/runs better than it ever has before. Repair costs were lower than I expected & Chase verbally stated a 2-year warranty backs up my alternator. I understand why these guys get such high reviews. They are professional, have a huge sense of business/personal integrity & appreciate my business. Justin/Chase were VERY honest on what repairs they could/could not do. They did not jerk me around one little bit. I HIGHLY recommend anyone in the Springfield, Missouri area to call Sheldon's Custom Muffler for your service needs. My only suggestion (which was my fault) is to print/write warranty information on customer service ticket. I hope to save many after what was done to me and my son . This place is a place that fixes cars . I was sold a 2006 cobalt told all it needed was a battery and all vehicles sold come safety inspected. Absolutely not the case I was allowed to drive off the lot of this place with my toddler after giving 2200 for a vehicle that would not pass inspection, leaking fluids and much more . We asked the man to make it right at least to where it would pass a safety inspection he said he would do nothing for free. And these are the people working on many cars . Very dangerous . I'm a single mother who was gullible and taken advantage of. I would never recommend this place to anyone. In fact I hope everything gets looked into. read more

I have used Sheldon's muffler shop for over 20 yrs now they have put exhaust on classic vehicles & new vehicles for me and I am always Happy with the work . Reasonable and quick. I have done business with Sheldon for 18 years and have always been pleased.

I developed a noisy, rattly exhaust system. Another mechanic said there was a hole in my muffler. I called in to make an appointment and they said to come over anytime. I arrived and they took my car right in the bay without any waiting at all. I was expecting to pay hundreds of dollars for a new muffler, but 45 seconds later, the guy came into the office and said the hole was in my resonator and they could either swap it out for a new one for $70 or just cut a piece of straight pipe for $40, since the resonator really doesn't do much. I opted for the latter, and I don't even think it was 10 more minutes before I was on the road in a car so quiet I had to glance at the tachometer to make sure the engine was running. Kudos to these folks for fast service, great prices, and honest service. read more

Had a rattling underneath my jeep and was told to come here by another company in town. Walked in, told the guy my issue, he took my jeep in, 4 minutes later brought it back out, told me I just had some loose sheet metal and he spot welded for me. No charge and sent me away. I know he had nothing in parts and very little time invested, but he still could of charged me something and didn't. Very uncommon these days but put a smile on my face! read more

Atrocious work. Car was completely destroyed by their careless mechanics' job. They wouldn't admit to screwing up the muffler job, and when I asked why he let the car leave in such bad shape the manager told me he couldn't watch all the bays at once....so I asked for a refund and was refused because he "paid his employees for the labor" so I should still be charged labor---on a job not well done! read more
