I went all sparkling wines. The first two were delicious!

Incredible view if you only choose to drink a glass outside. Otherwise, your tasting happens indoors where it is loud and not aesthetically pleasing. Our particular server had no idea what was on the charcuterie board we ordered. She guessed it might include goat cheese (it definitely did not), amongst other things. Overall the wine was ok and there were a bunch of visitors-so it's clearly a hit amongst other people.

Perhaps our favorite experience of the Finger Lakes wineries--it is hard to beat the setting here, with a lovely, spacious tasting room offering glorious views of Seneca Lake. They don't sit back on those laurels and let the view do all their work though. From a first complimentary tasting as you walk in to the generous pours in their tasting flights (5 pours for $15, very reasonable and perhaps shareable, especially if someone is driving!), the service is excellent and the wine will flow. Really appreciated the food approach, where they had a fridge of cheeses and charcuterie you could select from to pair with your wines--they will provide the plating once you select. Was very impressed with their wine quality as well, had an excellent Acid Head Riesling along with a 2020 Cabernet Franc. Was particularly with their red tasting flight, as I understood this region to not be particularly known for its reds, but we enjoyed the ones we tried quite a bit. Overall, just a beautiful spot to visit, excellent views, excellent wines, excellent experience. There are certainly a plethora of fine options up here, but this is definitely one not to miss if at all possible. We were here in the winter, but apparently in the summer you can even arrive here by boat!

Beautiful setting for this winery! We came up to visit and stayed on the grounds through Harvest Host. We went in for the wine tasting and had a great time. The staff was fantastic and so was the wine. We each got to sample 6 different varieties, we actually only doubled up on 2 of them, so we got to try a bunch more. We were able to sit outside for the tasting and each of the wines had a thorough description. We ended up getting four bottles (okay, 5 because we drank the first Meritage Reserve and had to go get another). The grounds are fantastic and I highly recommend a visit here.

Visited in October during the foliage season, this is my 3rd/4th time in Finger Lakes, but this is one of the best wineries I have visited. A few of the wines including an older vintage Cabernet Franc and their dry rieslings are some of the best I have tried in the region. They also have a modern cozy tasting room with direct access to the large lawn overlooking the Cayuga Lake. Definitely recommended!

What a beautiful afternoon at this winery. To be honest, it wasn't the best wine I've had but it was definitely the most pleasant wine tasting experience I have had. The staff was beyond accommodating and the views of the lake are incredible. The local cheeses and olives were delicious and paired perfectly with our visit.

Stopped by while our sailing due to easy access to the winery. They have in my opinion some of the best wines on Cayuga Lake and in the Finger Lakes Region. We were warmly greeted and Mia did an excellent job taking care of our party of 4. So happy to have been seated inside so we could enjoy the air conditioner. It was a hot day. Good wines, snacks for purchase and great service made this a wonderful experience. We will be back!

    Gorgeous sunny day!

While the wines weren't necessarily our favorite (personal preference) because they tended to be a bit on the drier side, Sheldrake Point has the best views of any of the wineries we visited on the Cayuga Lake Wine Trail! For a sunny Saturday in April, it was absolutely gorgeous and a perfect setting for wine tasting.

We have been going up to the Finger Lakes for about 20 years now and I think Sheldrake Point Winery was the first winery we ever visited... We immediately became a club members. Their winemaker, Dave Breeden started around the same time. Dave Weinmann, the vineyard manager started in 1999. There is longevity here and it shows. Driving into this winery always reminds me of doing into a winery in NAPA. Once you park and start walking you realize just how large this property is and the incredible views from anywhere. It overlooks Cayuga Lake and you get incredible views from anywhere and they are just breathtaking. In today's world we were greeted at the entrance and escorted to our outdoor table with our masks on. Once we sat down we were able to take them off. They gave us a menu of the wines and we were able to pick a group. Which they bring out together and if you like they have cheese and meat plate to go with them. WITHOUT A DOUBT, one of my favorite wineries. All the wines are Fabulous. That doesn't mean you will enjoy everyone. Tastes vary among people which is why there is a nice selection. Find the one's you enjoy the most... sit back, relax and enjoy your glass. The team here is magnificent. A group of friendly-knowledgeable-personable people. No matter what you enjoy, make sure you try the ice wines. They are spectacular. They are always happy to answer any questions you have on the wines and also the proper food pairing. I cannot recommend Sheldrake Point enough. Come her and try... you'll agree.

Full disclosure: I worked here for two years while doing my undergrad. I know the owner well, what a genuine and kind person. I'd say 90% of the people I worked with there in 2005-2006 are still there. That says a lot about the business. But the wine, honestly most people can't believe these reds come out of NY. It's by far the best wine on Cayuga lake, maybe even in all of NY. 10/10 recommend. And while you're there grab a bottle and head down to the beach for a sip and swim.

Sheldrake Point Winery was a gorgeous vineyard along the Cayuga Wine Trail. It was our first of four wineries on a muggy Monday. We pulled up to Sheldrake at 12:40 unaware that they only offer wine tasting by reservation. Luckily they had an opening for us at 1:00 so we only had to entertain ourselves for 20 minutes. Even more luckily, we had brought a cooler to make sandwiches at some point, so we decided to eat before we drank. By the time we were done with our early lunch, it was wine o'clock. The vineyard is beautifully kept with well-maintained lawns and vines and an absolutely breathtaking view of Cayuga lake. Due to the coronavirus, they weren't offering indoor seating but had plenty of outdoor seating with tents and fans. Our waitress was nice. She brought out tall glasses of refreshing cool water while our wine was poured inside and brought out to our table. Sheldrake offered three types of flights: a Riesling flight, a red and white combo flight, and an all-red flight. I love sweet wines so I went with the Riesling one. The wines were refreshing and cool, but mostly a little too dry for my liking. This is a personal preference and does not impact my review of the winery at all. My sister, a fan of dryer wines, enjoyed many of her 6-flight options. The vineyard mandated that we order some sort of snack as part of Governor Cuomo's bar regulation. As per Governor Cuomo's rules, chips and other little dollar food stuffs aren't considered "food" when drinking. Sheldrake had no regard for the law and had us purchase a small bag of oyster crackers for a buck each. Had we known, we would have ate our sandwiches at the table and saved the hassle. This was the only negative we experienced.

Can you spend $100 on iced wine?! YES, i did and it's worth it! The wines at Sheldrake are a bit on the sweeter side - Rieslings, Chardonnay, and Iced Wines! If you come to the Finger Lakes, you must try the iced wines here. The Cab Franc and Apple iced wines are good, a couple of sips of the syrupy grape juice is just enough with residual sugar of 27% residual sugar. I've never had wine with such high sugar content. More than 2%, I can taste it, let alone 27%. The Lucky Stone White & Red were my favorites, semi-sweet and well-balanced (more on the 2% residual sugar side). I bought a bottle of each. The real kicker here is the 2012 Wild Ferment Riesling. It's an extra $5 for a tasting and the fee is waived if you spend $100. I bought a bottle, it's a novelty to be savored on a special occasion. The service is friendly and the staff takes their time to pour and explain the wine. They don't rush you out. Although the winery looks like it's near the lake, there are no lakeside views from the tasting room. There is some outdoor and indoor seating. Overall, I had a great experience and tasted some really delicious unique wines. $160 well spent.

Came with a bowl of Romaine, burger, red onion, cheese, and ripe tomatoes and a tangy sauce Looked so good I had to have a bite and it was Great! I had the Trio of Isles which included 2 homemade Spanakopita. I could tell immediately because of the pastry wasn't the usual store bought puff pastry. And, it was so flavorful with garlic, spices and Pine nuts. The hummus was good and the pita points were toasted and warm when served. The falafel was okay and one was filling with homemade Tzatziki sauce. I managed to eat both falafels. I would definitely come again and just get the Spanakopita-it was Amazing. They do a lot of Take Out. Some of their salads were huge (definitely two meals worth - lunch & dinner) and several patrons were taking what they couldn't finish home for dinner.

My favorites were the Fruit of the Bloom which is infused with ginger as well as the Funkhouse. I liked how crisp the funkhouse was and I loved the ginger note in fruit of the bloom. The others were okyay too, persici was very sweet but paired nicely with the ginger hazelnut baklava which was incredible! I am allergic to pistachios, so I loved that I could eat their baklava! We also tried the cornbread with strawberry and jalapeno butter- absolutely incredible. I am from the south and have had a lot of cornbread but this truly stands out. It came out warm with a slight crunch from the crust while maintaining the perfect crumb inside. Just crumbly enough and not too try! I also really enjoyed the jalapeno and strawberry butters- you can tell they use high quality butter, they almost reminded me of goat cheese. I preferred the jalapeno butter a tad more but both were great! The exterior is beautiful- the views are very nice. I would highly recommend coming on a warm day and sitting outside. We initially sat on the balcony but moved due to the bees. The tables underneath the white tent were shaded and bee-free. Service was pretty quick- our ciders came out almost immediately. We had to wait ~10-15 minutes for the cornbread though, but I didn't mind especially given it was warm! Overall, I would highly recommend!

Rustic, somewhat isolated house solidly built. It's excellent for souvenirs (jams, butter,…read morespirits, and of course, cider). Prices aren't the best, but considering everything is made in-house, I'd say you're getting decent value. Houses about 25 people for seating comfortably. I'd suggest trying a flight (4 samples) of cider. Can't go wrong with anything but we went with the sweet cider flight. We ordered the pulled pork, choripan, soup, turkey pesto melt, and farmers salad, along with an immunity (ginger) cocktail. We liked the soup, melt and pulled pork, but would pass on the choripan and farmers salad, esp since all meals came with the same salad anyway. While I don't think you should go here just for the food, it's nice to grab some cider before heading off on a hike and enjoying the natural scenery.
