Not TEN pathetic ounces, and then the waitress says well it's a strong beer so we only serve it in 10oz. W T F! I can get two 20oz at the store next door for $8. Yet I get 10oz here for $10. Food was good, but the primary function of a brew house should be around serving beer. Don't go here. Go to Blast and Brew right down the road, they serve a 22oz big sur for the price of the 10oz here. Take brewhouse out of your name. Dining room area was a mess, huge TV boxes everywhere and tables and chairs all piled around, had to walk around a couple to get to and from our table, odd and unprofessional. We were here for drinks with some friends when we were vacationing in the area and a lot of fun was had. The staff was super friendly and enjoy each other's company which is always nice to see. Stopped in for the first time with the family while on a quick 2 day getaway. Took advantage of their buy 2 apps get 1 free during happy hour. (Definitely a good deal) The only criticism I would have is that when asked what side we wanted for the kid's meal, it prompted us to ask,"what are the options? When told fruit was an option, we chose fruit. It would've be nice to be then told that fruit was an extra 3 dollars. I called the restaurant to check how busy they were on a Saturday night. The lady said it would probably be a 15 minute wait depending on when we arrive. Only a few minutes away from our hotel, we got parking in front of the restaurant. The lady said a table might be available in 20 minutes since people were watching the Dodgers in the World Series. Been there probably a dozen times. Food is acceptable. Drinks are strong. Sometimes they have great beers on draft. Its the people though. Holy crap what a bunch of crackheads. At night you get some really twitchy folks. The older male bartender left the weirdos for the young woman bartender to handle, as this methed out jerk next to us kept grabbing her and trying to have her kiss him. Right before we left the guy tried to pick a fight with the whole bar and a couple bikers escorted him out. Even in the daytime you'll see people passing baggies and going to the bathroom. We were famished from our travels and rolled into town late afternoon. So happy my hubby discovered this local gem when searching online for places that had outdoor seating to accommodate our dog. The ribs were the best ever! Moist flavorful meat that pretty much fell off the bones. Brussels sprouts with apples?! WE WANT THE RECIPE!! Cheese curds were unique and delish! Beet salad- tasty textured perfection with the fruit, nuts, cheese etc. To top the great food we had excellent friendly knowledgeable service from Moses. Kudos to him for remembering our dogs name. The server we had was forgetful and not good with customer service- got the order wrong and forgot waters, sugars for tea and refills. Staff were cleaning tables and stacking chairs by 8! I felt bad for people who just got there to sit down- the place looked closed but was open til 9. The food was meh with nothing more than basic burgers and fries. Beautiful day in Pismo! Lunch time! We sat at the bar. You have to go to the bartender to order. My mother did and ordered the sunset sirloin dip for herself and the aloha ahi poke for me with hot sauce instead of the sriracha Mayo. It sounded good. We started with iced teas. Gastropub meets brewhouse! They have a decent selection of craft beers on tap along with your normal domestics in can and bottles. This place is located on a frontage road in the center of Shell Beach and has limited parking on the street but a small private parking lot. The interior reminds me of rustic wood meets modern twist. There is a gas fire ledge near the outside seating area. My wife I spied the "Elvis Lives" burger - who knew Elvis was at the beach. The burger consisted of a bacon cheeseburger slathered in peanut butter and caramelized bananas. I tasted the burger and found a hint of peanut butter but did not taste any banana flavor. I tried a piece of the banana and found it to have a not ripe taste. As for being caramelized bananas, it did not have a sweet flavor as expected. The burger patty was cooked to perfection of medium rare but it did lack seasoning. The burger over all was a pleasant surprise but it could be heightened to a level of its hype by a few tweaks. I had the basic bacon cheese burger that was good but again the patty needed a little "umph" of seasoning to heighten it's flavor profile. The fries are hand cut and we're pretty good especially dipped in ranch dressing. From where I sat at the bar I had a glimpse of the kitchen staff. I watched a chef make several of what looked like "Aloha Ahi Poke". It looked appetizing and I will definitely give it a try on my next visit. I also noted the kitchen staff used gloves and washed their hands numerous times. I was impressed with their cleanliness and attention to safe food preparation. This place was just as I was expecting...a super casual, surf dude vibe with good food! I have to first comment that the restaurant truly was about 60 degrees. Every patron and the waiters had coats on. Not sure if they don't have heat in their building, but it was the first time I've ate a meal with my coat on. The other weird thing was all their utensils had a dirty film on them. Maybe soap left over from a tired dish washer??? Not sure. So we decided to order food that we could eat with our hands ;). My family and I ended up going to Shell Beach Brewhouse a Saturday afternoon after spending the morning at Pismo Beach. The fact that the restaurant is located in Shell Beach road makes it easy to find parking, a high commodity around the Pismo Beach area. The restaurant is nice, with a big restaurant area and a bar area which a small patio. They added some seating on the sidewalk, with high chairs for people who want to get the ocean breeze. The service is attentive and friendly, mostly college kids that bring a cool vibe to the establishment. We ordered street tacos to snack on: pork carnitas, chicken, carne asada, and spicy Korean pork. The favorite was the spicy Korean pork because the pork was tender and it had a kick to it. The carne asada one was well seasoned, the pork carnitas one was tender, and the chicken one was good. We also order a crab Louie salad, which was bigger than expected. The crab was sweet and the shrimp was well seasoned. The lettuce was crispy and the thousand island dressing was a good addition to the dish alongside the avocado. Really cool spot with great food and great drinks. I I had the seared ahi burger. It was just "okay" honestly. The ahi was a little too thick for my liking but it was seasoned well. The fries were outstanding. My friend had the poke and he liked it a lot. His came with homemade chips and they were really good. Ordered by daughter a bacon burger to-go and she said it was really good. Service was mediocre. We sat outside by the fire and had a waiter come out and ask us if we were ready to order. We asked him to give us two minutes and no one ever came back. We then flagged another waiter down and he said we were in a self service area where you order at the bar. He did take our order but it should be noted that with a major pandemic and all outdoor seating, that they should be accommodating their limited customers (there were only about six customers total and many staff walking around). AVOID!! This review goes from bad to worse. My wife was in the mood for burgers and fries, and after reading some good reviews on Yelp we decided to give the Brewhouse a shot. We walked in about 4:30 PM and the restaurant side of the business was empty while the bar side was busy selling drinks with loud rock music. After sitting down my hands touched the table and it felt sticky as if it wasn't clean. My wife handed me a hand wipe to clean the tabletop. We waited about 10 minutes for someone to come to our table despite being the only ones in the restaurant. A waitress finally came over to our table with the menus, napkins, and one fork for each which I found odd. I'm thinking is there a knife shortage here? We order our respective drinks taking advantage of the happy hour price while we reviewed the menu. When we decided to order our hamburgers we requested the burgers be cooked medium well, but the waitress insisted the cook only cooks the burgers to medium which is considered acceptable. I'm thinking to myself, I"m the customer and, I can't have my burger cooked my way. When our orders arrived, I cut the burgers open, and sure enough, we ended up with two raw patty meat burgers in the middle. I ended up having to walk across the restaurant with two plates in hand, handing them back and requesting they recook our orders. They asked if we wanted them to re-cook the same burgers, or remake them, Duh! Remake them, please! After I handed over the plates I grabbed a couple of knives to cut open the burgers to see if they recooked them, which they finally did. Before taking the old burgers, they scraped the kettle chips that came with our burgers onto another plate for us to munch on while they remade two new burgers cooked medium well. During that time I finished my glass of wine, and placed it at the edge of the table for the waitress to pick it up along with the hand wipe and a wadded-up napkin. They came by and picked up the glass but left the hand wipes and wadded-up napkin on the table. After our burgers came back they were cooked medium well and dry. During our time in the restaurant, we had three different people come to our table, and all three of them acted like everything was fine. All three did a lousy job with any follow-up to see how we were doing. This place is nothing more than a bar serving drinks with loud rock music. With all the great places to eat in this area avoid this place unless you like boozy loud bars, sticky table tops, under-cooked food, and lousy service. read more

Dined here on a weekday for the first time. There wasn't a lot of people in the restaurant/bar area. The hostess advised the bartender would take my order since I wanted to sit outside. I ordered at the bar with the friendly bartender. My salad arrived and it looked delicious - it was mostly good, chicken was tasty. although it needed just a tad more dressing. Decent amount of beets and the strawberries were fresh and a nice touch. There was a huge amount of greens underneath, which wasn't bad but I just couldn't finish it. I felt like it was a bit pricey for a salad ($30) but nowadays everything seems to be more expensive than usual. Waited for my bartender to come with the check, but I ended up meeting her at the bar because I didn't want to wait any longer.
