This can be a busy station on Victory Blvd that has both gas and diesel available. Prices are better or the best for diesel than most of the surrounding stations. Lousy Customer Service. Once I put in my carwash number I was instructed via the automated control station to pull ahead and I did so. There was a car that had just finished and was going through the dryer but the green lights were lit to pull forward and as per the voice command I went in. The car wash just stopped once I was in and wouldn't continue. I pulled out and went to the attendant and asked for a refund. Both he and the manager Walter were watching me. They said I didn't follow directions and both refused to either credit me for the non car wash or give me another one for what had just occurred. I've been working in this area for 3 years and have given this gas station my business every since. I went to the movies and after stopped by to get gas. My 2013 car world not turn on. It's almost midnight and my kids are with a baby sitter. I called my roadside assistance and they will be 45 min. I let the attendant know and he threatened to tow me if my car wasn't picked up in 20 min. It's late and cold and trust me i rather be with my kids than here. If I could give them negative stars, I would! WORST customer service EVER!!!! As my day was busy, I didn't have time for my usual full service car wash, so I decided to stop in for the Self Serve car wash at this Shell. Waited in line for about 20 minutes for my turn - paid, go the green light, pulled in, but the red light to stop never came on - just the light saying "back up", which I did. Still didn't come on. Guy behind me even backs up more, seeing the "back up" sign on. Back all the way out - now with some soap on my car - still not change in the light/directions. Because I was IN the car wash and couldn't et out of my car, guy behind me goes for help. "Customer Service" lady (and I use that term lightly with her) comes out, yelling, waving her arms. I can't hear her (windows are up as soap is dripping on )and into my car if windows are down). Can't see her - she's not standing in view of any of my rear view mirrors and in my blind spot. I roll the window down and ask her what she is telling me, because I couldn't hear her. She just yelled "GET OUT! GET OUT! GET OUT!" Get out? get out of my car? Get my car out by pulling forward? by pulling backwards? NO idea what she was wanting me to do. I finally pull forward all the way out - she yells from the other end - go to the lady inside and she'll take care of you. Lady inside offers me a refund, but they reset the car wash (which BTW - saw them have to do about 3 cars earlier). I ask if I can just get back in line. Nope - go to the end of the line (would be about a 35-40 minute wait WITH SOAP DRYING ON MY CAR!!). I ask if there is any way they can let me back in the line towards the front, since I had already been there nearly a 1/2 hour at this time. Nope. I NICELY and CALMLY suggested "you know, just a suggestion - when you have issues like this with the wash, it might be a good idea to direct the car back in towards the front of the line, because when soap dries on a car, it can damage the paint". Her response to me was "well, if you are too stupid to know how to work a self service car wash, my suggestion is that you ask us before entering it next time." AND THEN LAUGHED and looked at her co-worker as she laughed and pointed to me. Are you KIDDING ME?! The car wash breaks down TWICE in about 20 minutes of time, and she has the NERVE to call a CUSTOMER "Stupid"?!! You know what, I was stupid - NOT FOR THE REASON SHE SAID - I have been driving for more than 40 years, take care of my cars, and have been through WAY more than a few self-service car washes in my day, but I'm stupid for ever giving this place a try. I will NEVER be back, and I will make sure that ALL of my friends in Burbank know what a horrible experience that place is, in hopes they will not take their business there, as well. My advice - stay away from this place. If you need a car wash, go to Burbank Car Wash on San Fernando - it may seem to take a little longer, but by the time you deal with horrible people like this, it's not more time. If you are really crunched for time, go down Victory Blvd just east of Olive and you'll find a do-it-yourself car wash that is cheaper and better. BTW - if a manager or executive at Shell ever reads this - please, look up your records and see who was working at this location on 12/15/20 @ 12:08p. Terrible customer service from the rude station attendant. The person in the car in front of me did not exit out of the car wash when she was supposed to and stopped her back tires in the wheel lock. She then proceeded to get the back 1/4 of her car washed again, which was quite funny to watch, but she had stolen the wash for which I had paid. When I drove up to receive the car wash I paid for, the wash would not start. Upon notifying the attendant, Hanna, she berated me, saying somehow it was my fault that the woman in front of me had locked her back wheels and stolen my wash to receive her extra 1/4 car wash. She then berated me because "others were waiting"--obviously the result of the car wash not starting--and tried to get me to pay for a second wash instead of giving me a refund. I've used this car wash for years but, after seeing how you are treated when something out of your control malfunctions with the mechanism, I will never be returning and I recommend anyone else in the area steers clear; less they risk paying for a car wash, being screwed over by the car in front, and then suffering the wrath of Hanna. read more

I paid money for a car wash and the dryer shut off after 4 seconds. I wasn't even moving my car at the time it shut off. I went in and talked to the attendant and she said there is nothing wrong with the dryer. I asked her if nothing is wrong, why my car is still wet. She said that I drove through without waiting for the dryer to go off. I told her to check the tape and she refused. She said the best she would offer me is a towel to dry my car off. I told her that I didn't pay for a car wash to have to dry the car myself. I don't know who hires there employees but this shell has the rudest and most incompetent staff. I just had the experience of one I will never forget. My company gas card was declined and he asked if I had cash. My response was no and he (middle aged possibly middle eastern man)literally throws my card at me and says " then why did you come here?" I have no idea why this guy was ridiculously rude to me but I just have him the finger and left. I request this dickhead be fired. If I could put 0 stars, I would. Have been using the car wash for a couple of years now. Last time I was there, the car wash quit working after soap cycle. The staff treated me like it was my fault, kept telling me it was a new equipment, and made me write down on a piece of paper exactly what happened so they can tell their manager. They could clearly see that the soap was still on my vehicle and yet still tried to blame it on me. I will never go back! This is about the car wash and the terrible customer service. I went through their drive through car wash today. I slowly drove forward and when the red light came on I stopped. The light then turned green so I went forward again until my wheels hit another pocket and the red light came one again. The car wash then proceeded to not wash my entire car because I was not in the right position. I went to tell someone after, I was politely telling the issue bc I had no reason to be mad at this point. A woman came out of the booth near the car wash and was immediately rude and defensive. Before I could even finish she was telling me it's my fault and there is nothing she can do. I explained how the light turned green after I had stopped, and she was just like "you went over the line. It's your mistake" I was like okayyy, well I only went over the line bc the light turned green again. She said something about reviewing the tape. I said ok let's review it, that's how confident I was. Then she starts saying how no one else coming out of the car wash is having that problem, "look that car is fully clean. You can see if any of these cars have the problem" I was like 'you want me to sit here and wait for all these cars to go through just to see if they have the problem?" She continues to tell me how I'm in the wrong, it was my mistake, the machine works fine. I told her this was really crappy customer service. She couldn't care less. Then I said I did want to review the footage. She she goes to her booth but when I ask if I can go with her she says no. So I was like cool, so I guess I'll just take your word for it. She comes back out and just rudely says "you went over the line" and walks off. I was so floored by this horrible customer service. She would rather lose a customer and have me write this than let me go through the $7 car wash again. I wish I'd gotten her name or knew how to complain on a higher level. Gisella I think that was her name was extremely rude when I questioned her about the drive thru car wash not working. I understand if the machine has issues or somehow timed out but I was given the run around about a refund. I was told if the payment posted to my credit card for the purchase of the car wash which I never received I could call the shell station and they would "work something out" I told her that rather than leave my car in the drive thru car wash I tried to call them and their phone number posted on yelp is incorrect, she stated this was not her problem because they don't have any affiliation with yelp. I told her I understand that but as a business you can let yelp know the accurate phone number to serve clients and she was just rude and said thanks (thanks for what, I still don't know) not going back here I don't need the poor customer service. read more

I had been here a few times before and it was ok. I always chose the Best wash but it never dried well, especially behind my car which left water marks. But the 1 star is for heavily scratching my car last time I went. Not sure how often they service it and replace the scrubbers, but my car now has vertical scratches on the hood, roof, and trunk; and horizontal scratches on the doors and fenders. It's your fault, no SUVS. They had exposed metal on their dryer that ripped the rack off the top of my car... Worst Customer service EVER! By this manager name ANA! I bought gas solely for the purpose of getting my car washed in the self drive thru. I followed instructions on board. When I drove in to get my car washed, only a few drops of water came down and the machine stopped. I stayed there for a few minutes waiting for the water to come down. It never did! So I went on reverse hoping that by doing that, the machine will start. It never did. So after 10 minutes of frustration I decided to leave and go to the cashier and let her know about it. She called her manager Ana. I explained the situation and right from the start, Ana was really rude. She said to me that I had already used the service that she couldn't give me credit. I told her I didn't use the service and that water never came down. She said by me exiting the car wash area, it was considered as if it did happen. What was I suppose to do? Wait in there forever? Why didn't she come assist me? Since she was inside her office stuffing her face with food! Whoever is this woman's supervisor must know. She called me stupid for exiting the car wash area. Her tone of voice was very rude and she was so unprofessional. Never have I experienced such horrible rudeness. At this point it's not about the credit or money (Which she never gave me!)--It's how ANA treated me! So unprofessional, disrespectful, and rude! I felt threatened by her. I hope the owner of this Shell reads this review and gets rid of her. This woman belongs in a prisoners ward. She is pyscho! Twice now I have used their outside "vacuums", and twice now I have had problems. The first time, they wouldn't accept my debit card to get cash back to make change with, as I had no cash on me. They clearly weren't interested in my business. The second time, I made sure I had cash, but they refused to give me change unless I purchased something. After I explained to them that I was trying to PURCHASE THEIR VACUUM SERVICE, they still refused until I actually bought something. So, I got ripped off by buying one of their overpriced items, but I was against the clock, so I had no choice. Then, they refused to give me more than $5 in quarters, even though their vacuums only TAKE quarters. I could not, for the life of me, figure out why they were in business. Very, very, very rude, extremely discourteous. They didn't even make an EFFORT to empathize with me. I don't know what it is about Phillipino business owners, but they sure don't know much about customer service. This is the EXACT same response I get from Phillipino "customer service" centers in the Phillipines: a complete and utter inability to empathize. Rude, curt, short, discourteous. Is this how you treat your own people....? So, I got the change....only to find out that their first vacuum (after wasting $2 on it...you only get 3 minutes for $1) was utterly ineffective because the suction was so weak, and the other one was "out of order." So, I went to the do it yourself wash down the street, with their Turbo vacuums (that actually worked, and COST THE SAME.) Chintzy, chintzy, chintzy. A word of advice, folks: don't make it damn near impossible for your customers to buy services from you, and when they do, make sure your equipment is working properly. I'd sure like my $3.19 back (the total wasted), and store managers/owners: if you're reading this, you should really rethink your customer service. read more

The car wash is quick and convenient, but half the time the dryer isn't working and your car is left with residue on it even when it is. I haven't noticed much of a difference between the three price points either. I've used it quite frequently because it's right near my house and fast - Today the wash asked me to back up, I did, and it didn't start. I called the store and the attendant who answered was one of the rudest people I have ever spoken to in my life. I went inside, where they were dealing with a situation with the police. I had sympathy for what was going on and that she was stressed, but to tell me not to cut her off after she repeatedly cut me off while I was speaking was something else. I tried to tell her that the car wash was still activated and somebody could go through right now without paying, and she again cut me off - even though that was to help them. She threw my car down on the counter and told me to get out before she locked the door. A real charmer, and the final nail in the coffin for me with this location. read more

I would not recommend to use the car wash at this gas station. I pulled up to the car wash, red light went off with "back up sign". I waited 30 sec nothing started. Then I backed up. Still nothing. Then I went through the car wash without getting one. Once I was out Ana came up to me asking what happened and said they would refund the money but will not let me in go back in. What?!!!! When I told her why wouldn't you , she answered "why do we need to pay for your mistake?" What mistake? What did she pay for? I noticed she started getting upset while I was asking her to explain what was she paying for about my mistake. She asked the the register clerk to refund my money and said she is going to close the car wash right after I leave. If there's no common sense and ability to communicate (being able to listen to the other person) how could you ask for customer service. Just an awful experience. read more

Tried to go through the drive through car wash, which is overpriced in the first place, and was screamed at about some small sign that literally says "No SUVS, VANS, MINIVANS, TRUCKS, OFF-ROAD VEHICLES". I came in to this car wash, I paid 10.99 for it, and there was a mistake with the car wash and I didn't wash my car, someone went in to call the guy (Dwewalli)) that worked there and he came, and started SCREAMING and and I was a bit shocked. He told me to stand in line again, I was a bit frustrated but I understood hey shit happens, so I was back at it and he comes again and lets me know that my code won't work, I asked for my money back and said it was my fault and I kid you not, he said "go away", I understand that he wasn't from America. I'm not American either, but I would never treat anyone like this in the work place, once I told him that if I didn't get my money back I would call his manager he gave me my money and said get out of here/ I was so frustrated and I asked for his managers name again, I was in shock and he said no out out. Zero Stars. I went to get a car wash after paying at the pump for both gas and a wash and the pump read, "See attendant" without issuing a receipt with my wash code. I pulled into a several-cars-long line and ran in. First the attendant told me my receipt was at the pump. I went out and asked the gentleman now using it after me who was still filling up and we both saw not. Then the attendant tells me I didn't get my receipt because I "took too long." I asked him what did he mean? I merely pulled a few yards forward into the line. By the way, he's extremely rude and dismissive as he's telling me these things. Then he says, "I can't give you the receipt unless you tell me the exact amount." UM, it was around $63, but I DON"T KNOW THE EXACT AMOUNT! THAT"S WHY I NEED A RECEIPT! I tell him this and he says if I want to know the amount I can call my bank. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Where's my car wash code??? SO he's not going to give me my receipt and he's gypped me out of my wash. Fine. I will deal with the bank. In the mean time give me my wash! But he won't. He makes me pay for a new one--rude the whole time--which I do, because that's what I came for. I went inside to ask if I can get a refund and they told me that it's my problem not theirs and "all transactions are final". Are you kidding me?!? I went there only for the car wash only, waited in line for 45 minutes and it finally got to my turn. I paid for the wash (did not take a receipt) and the wash stopped 10 second into it. I pull out of the car wash and go to cashier to ask for my money back but lady who worked there could barely speak English and did not understand what the problem was and refused to pay me my money back. Do not ever use the car wash there! The dryer did not go on so I immediately went inside to tell them and the woman behind the counter accused me of lying and said she saw it on the video, which is impossible since I literally was in there in less than 45 seconds. And if she had watched the video she would have seen it did not work! She said my car looked dry to her from 30 ft away behind a gas pump. She then offered me a towel to wipe it off myself. I said I didn't spend $11.99 to do it myself. I have been using that car wash for many years and getting gas there too but I will drive out of my way to go somewhere else. I doubt the owner cares about this business by reading the other comments, but the woman's name behind the counter is Chemon. Yelp needs to have an option for zero stars or even minus stars! Never thought I would be leaving a review for a gas station, but today was just awful. I went to use the car wash, like I do once a week, and followed the prompts (green light=drive forward, buzzer=stop). When I stopped my car, nothing happened, but a yellow light was flashing. I sat there for a few seconds, then drove forward a little, and still nothing, so I went inside. The woman inside was very nice, but told me since I didn't have a receipt (the machine didn't give me one) that I couldn't get a refund. I then talked to Anne or Anna, the "car wash technician" and she rudely asked if I had ever used a car wash and asked if I had reversed while in there. I did not reverse, as it clearly states "DO NOT REVERSE". So she told me she would have to review the video footage. She goes into the little office and shuts the door, comes out a minute later and tells me that I clearly reversed. I asked her to show me the video and she refused. This went on back and forth for a few mins before she shut the door in my face. I knocked again a few minutes later and I asked if she could please start the machine up again and let me get a wash if they aren't going to refund me and she said "you can go through as many times as you'd like, as long as you pay". So I paid for a car wash, didn't get one, and didn't even get a refund. I was given a customer service number, but their voicemail box is full (hmm I wonder why), so I filed a complaint on their website. All I wanted was my $9 back or a complimentary wash. read more
