It's just passed the Cafeteria entrance with a nice size sign that can be seen easily from that point. Hand sanitizer is located directly in the middle of the entrance. Masks are required to enter and all staff wear them as well plus the employees were wearing gloves. Market Place was a pleasant surprise as I entered and saw the cafeteria style hot and cold buffet pans. Unfortunately, the buffet closes at 2:00 p.m. and it was 4:00 p.m. but deli sandwiches, burgers and salads are available until 11:30 p.m. There's probably much more but I only saw a few customers orders. Joe, the owner, has a terrific personality and a fun guy and said he'd take good care of me when I came back downtowns. You cannot phone in orders but the line moved very quickly. A nice dining area is at the opposite end of the coolers with approximately 9 or 10 tables. You'll find a full coffee menu with a barista next to the check out counter. I picked up a hot Pumpkin Spice Latte along with a bottled Diet Coke. Along the side walls are chilled wall cases with many types of beverages, all types of snacks, salads, yogurts, fruit cups, cheese sticks, P3's and much more. A small breakfast island contains boxed cereals. So many options in this much needed and appreciated Cafe that stays open till 11:30 p.m. Patients' family and friends plus all the employees have a evening option to grab a meal, snack or beverage. I had the California turkey sandwich and it was made and grilled to order so it was fresh and really pretty good. It's a little pricey at around $10 but nice to have an option of getting something for lunch other than a grab and go. They couldn't quite manage iced tea yet, and suggested the bottled variety, but only had sweet tea in bottles. Coffee and chai seem to be the way to go. They have tureens for soup so maybe that's also coming soon. They also serve all day breakfast which sounds promising. Looking forward to seeing how they progress as they settle in! Seating in the MERB atrium is plentiful and it's nice and bright with lots of natural light.

The diminutive size is striking as you can certainly characterize this place as cozy. They could perhaps seat 25 or 30 people. I quickly picked a seat and my friend arrived about five minutes later. Our waitress attended to us quickly and did a good job throughout our time there. The menu featured quite a lot of comfort fare with a bit of Tex-Mex flare to some of the items. Both of us had skipped breakfast so those items sounded good. He tried the Breakfast Special with eggs, sausage and pancakes. It was less than $6 as I recall which was a great price. I went a little more up-price as I tried the Turkey Avocado Omelet which came with toast and potatoes. The avocado was not quite as ripe as I would like but it was otherwise pretty tasty. The coffee was also pretty decent, more than adequate with a meal. The final price of our meal with food, drinks, tax and tip was $37. At $18.50 per person, this was not bad. Mine was pricier than his, so you have to account for that. You can easily get to $20-plus per person. But the food is pretty good and the atmosphere is a simple vintage diner style which can be kind of fun (think of a smaller, more personal and more unique version of Waffle House). The service was also fine and all of this made this a reasonable value. I'd certainly be happy to go back, especially given the convenient location.
