Skillet with scrambled eggs and 2 pancakes
    Laura S.

Went here for Sunday morning breakfast with the family. Had a skillet, nothing special, kinda bland. Pancakes were pancakes... again nothing special. Food was not cold but definitely not hot. It was busy of corse, being Sunday morning. Our server was nice, treated us well. Everyone was very polite happy and helpful. The prices and the food is pretty standard. I have nothing particularly good or bad to say.

Please check your orders if you get take out. I overlooked checking my order and even though i ordered it with no onions or peppers they were still added. It was a great inconvenience since I got there at 3 pm and by the time I called to correct it they were closing. Ill see how they correct it because they were closing (3:51 pm) by the time I called.

Absolutely the best breakfast spot on the northeast side of Indy. Quick service and the food is to die for

We were in from out of town and wanted something local before we moved on, and arts fit the bill. I consider myself somewhat of a Reuben snob- I've had some really great ones, and a lot of really terrible ones. Im glad to say Art's didn't disappoint- the Reuben was exactly what you should expect from a Reuben- the corned beef was actually juicy and tender, the dressing and kraut were balanced also- puts it in the top 5 I've ever had. Give it a try!

Art is a very small little diner, and it was packed when I went in. I really like the diner vibe and the waitress was very helpful with telling me recommendations. I ordered one of the skillets and I have to say I didn't like it. I am sure somebody else would like it, but it had too much stuff on it and it was a little bit greasy, but I also ordered half a waffle and it was delicious. The waitress was very kind and attentive so although I didn't enjoy the skillet that I had I am sure I would enjoy other things so I may be back. Give it a try if you're ever in Lawrence.

This is a gem located in the East side of Indianapolis. They have got a lot of varieties on the menu and quite a few vegetarian options as well. Their customer service was good. Their ambience is good and they are very busy on a Sunday morning. They have a huge parking space outside where this restaurant is located. They have outdoor seating too. There is dine in option which is business casual and family friendly. The banana oatmeal was delish!!!! Definitely a must try place.

Wow! I was so impressed with the quality of service and food here. It is a quaint little stand alone building that will not disappoint! I normally get a basic breakfast when dining out and play it safe with an egg and cheese sandwich, but decided to venture out with the turkey skillet. Every flavor worked flawlessly together! The broccoli was charred perfectly, the mushrooms had the perfect umami balance, and the almonds were toasted to perfection! My friend opted for the biscuits and gravy and said the gravy was salted perfectly and the biscuits were the best he has had in a long time. When we left he said... "any time you want to come back, call me. I'll be here." We look forward to returning!

Not many places have surprised me so much. I stopped by on my lunch break and was sat immediately. Had my food in front of me in less than 20 minutes. (Peep the photo) Gotta be the best fries I've had in the area and the chicken sandwich was fire. The cheese was completely melted and bacon was perfectly crisp. Best of all the total was $12 dollars I mean wow! The place was moderately full with families, retirees, and people on their lunch break. Lots of interesting artwork on the wall too. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Honestly would be a top ten recommendation for me in the Indianapolis area

The best breakfast I've ever had! Country Fried Steak and perfect over easy eggs!

When in need of comfort food, Art's is the place to go!! My heart was heavy and my soul needed nourishment so we searched the internet for the right place and found Art's! It was meant to be! We were greeted and sat right away although they were very busy! Plenty of friendly staff always around though, we never wanted for anything. Our service was super friendly with a genuine smile and obvious concern for our experience. And yes, the food is as good as the service! We started with the nice warm cinnamon roll to put a smile on my face and start the healing process! It hit the spot!! My ultimate comfort food is country fried steak and eggs so of course that;s what I ordered! To my delight, the gravy is actually sausage gravy, not that stuff out of a packet or can!! Everything was perfect, absolutely perfect! Hubby got a skillet and couldn't even finish it they are so big and filling! I must say, probably the best breakfast I've ever had, it was really that good! Very highly recommend!

I'm not impressed!! I pull up in the parking lot to meet friends from work this morning for breakfast and the lot has empty plastic bottle trash everywhere! I get that we had high winds last night but thats no excuse! Send someone out with a pick up the trash with a pickup tool! and clean up that trash! I did go to the bathroom so I can't say but the building needs paint and some up grading like 5 yrs ago! It's a dump! And the food isn't amazing and he has 2 restaurants! A waffle and hash browns was all I had nothing to drink. I don't have to go to Arts again.

Inside twin brunch at Art's Skillet today!
    Jackie M.

Yesterday, I went to brunch with my twin brother and husband. We wanted to check out something near my Twin's neighborhood and Art's Skillet is just a hop, skip, and, a jump from him. We walked in about 12 noon, had a slow start to my morning and didn't get out the door as quickly as planned, and when I arrived I was literally starving, only drank my hot tea all morning no food yet. We walked inside and were seated right away, when I tell you we weren't even standing up front for one minute, I'm not exaggerating. But that didn't mean their weren't customers, this place was full and busy. Didn't feel cramped or anything like that. Plenty of seating for our small party or a family if you want to bring your entire crew. Our waiter was a true gentleman, he was funny and super efficient. This is a Latin-owned restaurant I believe, so our waiter spoke English and Spanish. I took Spanish a good chunk of my grade school and secondary school so it's always refreshing to catch up on some of that in the community. Our drinks and orders came out in less than 5 minutes when I tell you they were on it, they were ON IT! This was perfect for me since I decided not to eat all morning. I ordered the Art's Combo Platter which is basically a 2x2x2 style breakfast platter. The pancakes were just ok (they didn't taste very pillowy or soft, and were a bit grainy), but the scrambled eggs were cooked well, and the bacon strips were crispy. I ordered potatoes with my platter, and they were fried, but I could tell they added salt and that was honestly too much. My advice, ask them to hold the extra salt on the potatoes. Everything eaten together tasted like your typical diner breakfast, and it was hot and ready. Enough food to take some home if you would like and you cannot beat the prices! Very good prices for the amount of food you actually get. Oh and did I mention the MENU! They have one of the largest selections for a menu I have ever seen! Enough options, for the picky eaters, regular eaters, heavy eaters, and light eaters. Their menu spans the entire spectrum of breakfast and lunch offerings, and they also serve Fajitas! I would give the actual food a 3.5 star rating overall, and I gave the overall experience a 4 star rating because their service was truly superb! It's loud in this restaurant so if you are looking for a quiet spot this isn't the place. It's nice to gather for another meal with my twin brother, and we agreed this restaurant is now a staple for us! 03/19/22 - Jackie M.

The restaurant was pretty empty, and We were immediately seated upon arrival. Our server was nice and personable. We started with the fried biscuits and they were hot and delicious. The service (food prep) was slow. I ordered the meat lovers skillet with French toast. The skillet was delicious, but Almost cold. The French toast was just awful. I hope that it was just a bad day, because I should've asked for a refund. The French toast tasted like cooked bread, without any flavor. I had my husband take a taste as well, and he was shocked and felt the same way . My husband ordered the same (meat lovers) skillet but with scrambled eggs, and pancakes. He wasn't a fan of the pancakes, but enjoyed the skillet. Overall, I'd try this out place again, just for the fried biscuits and possibly the skillet. Again, we had a very friendly server! 5 stars for the server!

Same great staff, same cool space, same open kitchen where a party of one like me can grab a counter seat and watch the chefs do their thing. I've honestly always enjoyed that part of the experience. Today I had the avocado toast with feta and an egg on top, and it totally hit the spot. Earlier this week I tried one of the newer menu items -- fried chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy, plus a sample of jalapeño cornbread and Asian slaw. Incredible comfort food. And as someone who normally isn't much of a slaw person, I was surprised by how much I loved it. They also tried to tempt me with the roast beef special, which honestly looked great, but at 10:30 in the morning I just couldn't fully commit to roast beef yet. Maybe next time. The new name is a nice tribute to the owner's mother, Arleen, but thankfully it still feels like the Milktooth so many of us have come to enjoy over the years. Definitely worth checking out if you haven't been in awhile.

**Bluebeard... wtf**…read more Bluebeard has been on my Indianapolis restaurant list since I moved here from Chicago in 2021. I've found some really great restaurants here over the years, so I was especially excited to finally make it to Bluebeard. Each year during Devour, my husband and I pick a restaurant for each other as a surprise, and this year I chose Bluebeard. We had a 6:15 reservation and arrived about 10 minutes late due to traffic. I apologized, and we were promptly seated. Unfortunately, that's where the experience started to go downhill. Our server took about 15 minutes to come over, and although our appetizer arrived quickly (chips&dip), our drinks took another 15 minutes. I held off on ordering our meal because I wanted to do the Devour menu with the wine pairing. The food & drinks was a mixed bag: - Beauregard cocktail: 10/10 - Chips & avocado ranch dip: 8/10 - Crudo: 9/10 - Smoked fish dip: 4/10 - Mushroom ravioli: 8/10 - Short Rib Ragu: 3/10 - Chocolate crème brûlée: 3/10 There were definitely some great dishes, but the slow service and inconsistent food were disappointing for a restaurant with this reputation. The biggest issue came toward the end of the meal. The hostess came to our table and told us we needed to hurry because she needed the table for another reservation. **We were still waiting for dessert.** I explained that the service had been very slow and that we were waiting on our desserts. Our server apologized and said the hostess likely didn't realize what had been happening and was under stress. I completely understand that Devour can bring in more traffic than usual, but that's also something a restaurant at this level needs to be prepared to handle. We shouldn't have been made to feel rushed when the delays were not on our end. I really wanted to love Bluebeard after having it on my list for five years, but unfortunately, it didn't live up to my expectations. For comparison, some of my favorite Indy restaurants for both food and service are Bocca, Union 50, Matador, Rosemary & Olive, Tinker Street, Strange Bird, Delicia, and Bodhi. Maybe we caught Bluebeard on an off night, but for me, this experience fell short.
