Really love this place. It's nice to have a hibachi style restaurant in Lodi! It also seems to be really popular and busy but they always provide great service and it tastes amazing! We also sat on the sushi side this time and were still able to order the hibachi dishes without having to be on that side of the restaurant. I will be a frequent visitor of this business!

Great Food, Great Service overall it was a great day with our Chef/Cook Jonathan. We went in to Celebrate a birthday. Thank you all and a Big Thanks again to Jonathan. I have been to Shirasoni before and Jonathan was our Chef/Cook again he always puts on a great show and makes great food.

Been coming here for years. This is a Japanese restaurant where you have the chef put on a show and cook in front of you. How they do this is amazing in itself. If you prefer sushi they have a separate area for that. We went with whole family party of eight. They have an expanded menu since we were last there. We had garlic fried rice, veggies, soup and salad with all of our entrees. We had steak lobster chicken and shrimp mix and match choices. All was very tasty and cooked perfectly. A great family night.

We frequent this restaurant because of the delicious dishes offered. The ambiance is very appropriately done. The service is exceptional and timely. The staff is to be commended for the excellent attention and service they give their customers.

We can usually depend on it being busy as they offer a small dining area with limited tables outside, so when we do walk in we do so prepared. They do have a reservation system but to my knowledge we have not used it. We just walk up and greet the staff person at the door to check in, and they tell us what the wait is like. If it's over a half hour we usually kill time in Raley's. It's usually not longer than a 20 minute wait. If you are a large party, things might get cramped, but I've seen them pull it off with gusto. We've never had a party larger than four and it's been great. I really like the folks who work here. And the food is great too. They have a few tvs and a little sushi bar at the back, and the noise level is about average depending on how many children are dining with their families. Komachi has a dedicated vegetarian menu and I've tried most of the things on it. I love that they have marinated shiitake rolls, my fave of the standard veggie sushi innards. Yummy! My favorite rolls on the menu are the Garden Roll (steamed asparagus, avocado, cucumber, kanpyo, and shiitake), Shittake Maki, and the Rich Jumbo Roll (fried asparagus, fried onion, avocado, cream cheese, and cucumber). Appetizers I have tried and enjoyed very much include the Agedashi tofu, fried brussels sprouts (I have to remember to have the fish flake removed from this dish though), and of course, wakame (seaweed salad). They do have ramen, donburi, bento boxes, teppanyaki (the tofu one I look forward to trying soon!) and salads as well if you're not in the sushi mood. I like their seasonal drink menu, featuring wine, soju, and beer. Komachi is also reasonably priced. Yeah, pretty much everything I'm looking for when me and my boo are craving sushi. Vegan Corner: several items can be made vegan upon request, but there is not a dedicated menu. Bathroom Report: noisy pipes will not hurt you, at least it's smelling fresh right?

Last Wednesday, our server said something really rude and I don't even think he realized it but it was jarring enough to lower my rating for this visit. I'm sure next time will be back to normal as long as that young kid gets some training on hospitality. The food was fantastic as always. Saying to a customer who asks about an item that passed by their table- "you can't order that it's only for regulars or people who've been coming here a while" is not welcoming or polite and I'm shocked to be saying this about one of my favorite restaurants in town.

We were the only customers and got there around 6:30. My only critique is that there were a lot of employees and we were the only patrons, yet our two servers did seem distracted and forgot a couple of things throughout the meal. I'm giving grace for that because it was a very slow night and they were probably just chit chatting in the back. I would've had no issue giving this 5 stars if it wasn't for that one small thing. Service otherwise was very friendly and quick The food was fantastic! As a Japanese American who's been eating sushi since I was in the womb, I have to disagree with the yelper who recently said the rolls are too small and too expensive. The rolls we ordered were huge and the fish was very fresh and on par with M sushi and Komachi. Is it a luxurious loungy city style vibe? No. But the food is great and the prices are fair imo for the extremely fresh and delicious fish. We ordered two bowls of miso, salmon tataki roll (I only wished for more onions!), the spicy crunchy scallop roll (my new favorite roll in Lodi), snow crab CA roll, and I think the last one was a dragon roll with unagi. They were all great. We were def pleasantly surprised by Yume and will absolutely be coming back.

To be honest the only way I am giving this a 3 star was the service. The ambiance was super clean as well and no issues there. My biggest concern was the food except the unagi which was delicious. The Ramen if I was to rate it would be 2 out of 5 stars. No great flavor and a complete disappointment. I would come back to try more sushi but definitely not the ramen.

I was so excited to try it that I ate the egg roll in my car in the parking lot. It was really good! It was very big and had great flavor. There was also sauce to dip it in. It it was honestly so good I didn't even try the sauce. With an amuse bouche like that I closed up the bag and drove home excitedly anticipating how delicious the rest of the food was going to be. When I arrived home, I was very disappointed. The pork was literally what you get in the freezer aisle at the grocery store and the rice was excessively moist. The whole meal was bland and pretty gross to be honest. The takiyaki was so dry and even the mushroom were shriveled and dehydrated. Although I would not come here again for a meal, I would definitely consider stopping in for another egg roll or two if I wanted a nice snack so if you are thinking of stopping here, do yourself a favor and add an egg roll to your order.
