The pork belly garlic ramen is wonderful. They don't skimp on the pork belly. This dish is getting me through the lockdown.

Very disappointed tonight. I ordered online and it said it would be ready in 15-20 minutes. When we arrived, we were told that they hadn't even given the order to the kitchen. We had to wait for another 45 minutes for our meal. We were given a thai tea for our inconvenience (didn't taste very good). The food itself was just ok. This place is fantastic, the gyoza was cooked just right, crunchy on the outside and soft in the middle. The tables have siracha, cherry oil and chili peppers. The ramen is customizable and tasty. read more

Called in a to-go order over the phone, and they told me it would take about a half hour. I arrived about a half hour later and ended up staying in the restaurant for 40 minutes waiting for my food. Ordered online and showed up about five minutes after the estimated order ready time. When I walked inside, I picked a space near the register to wait to be helped. Several minutes passed, with waitresses and hostesses walking directly past me, and I still hadn't been acknowledged. Shortly after I entered, a party of four arrived and the hostess almost immediately let them know that she'd be with them in just a moment. As I stand there, still not acknowledged, the hostess walks over and escorts the party of four to a table. At this point I'm only a bit bothered, but decide to give them the benefit of the doubt that maybe they wanted to get them seated and would get to me right after. I was wrong! Hostesses and waitresses continue walking directly past me and don't acknowledge me at all, even though I'm in the same exact waiting area as the other guests. As I continue to be completely ignored, a large group of 7 walks in and are immediately greeted by the hostess and led to a table. By this point I'm actually frustrated and grabbed the hostesses attention as she tried to walk directly past me again( I'm literally the ONLY person standing I'm the waiting area). She asked if I had been helped and I said no. I told her I had an online order and gave her my name. She retrieved my order, which had been done and getting cold the entire 15 minutes I was waiting, and quickly handed it over. The only difference between myself and the guests who were assisted before me, after they entered after me, is that I'm an African American and they are not. I certainly am not one to make everything about race but this experience weighed on me and gave me a feeling that I just couldn't shake, which is why I decided to leave a review. I had no issue with food quality or taste. I really hope this review makes its way to staff or management at Shibu and they take a serious look at how they go about guest experience for ALL of their guests. read more

Served the wrong appetizer and the wrong entrée (pictured). The middle of the egg in my entrée was cold, almost raw. Felt a little gross after that meal. The gyoza was alright, but doesn't make up for the poor service. Quite disappointing overall. read more

This place is good every time. I love consistency. The bowl is full of thin noodles and I don't feel cheated on my pork slices. I love the bamboo and greens that they add to the ramen. I highly recommend the garlic tonkontsu. It's not very garlicky at all but so good! Their broth is drinkable, not too salty and that's why I like it. My husband likes the chicken karaage. The geso karaage is our favorite! We sometimes get the chicken katsu, which comes with white rice and a small salad. The katsu batter could use a little more seasoning but dipped in spicy mayo makes it good, spicy mayo makes everything good though. My go-to is definitely the ramen anyway. read more

I've been into shit u ramen I think 4 or 5 times now, I live very close. Each time I have come in the service has been very attentive and welcoming. The food has also been very good I've tried a few different combinations , pork and chicken are both good. Only thing I have found I don't like are been sprouts and tofu, lucky for me both can be avoided. Overall I would recommend Shibu to anyone that likes ramen or soups, it is quite delicious and definitely deserves more than 3.5 stars on Yelp read more

Heard that a newer ramen restaurant had opened so my boyfriend and I had high hopes and were excited to check it out. The only reason I am giving two stars is because of the pork fried rice appetizer that we got before our meal- that was delicious. Also because the eggs in our ramen were prepared perfect in my opinion. I was not impressed with anything else though. I really disliked the type of noodles that were used in my ramen, they almost looked like spaghetti noodles. Not to mention a dead ladybug was found floating around in my food. Who knows if I had already eaten a dead bug during my visit before I found this one! Service wasn't that great. Will not be returning. Discovered this hidden gem looking for a quick bite to eat before attending a Seattle Thunderbirds game. Enjoyed the food and it was high-quality. It was fresh, flavorful and delicious. Very disappointed with Shibu Ramen. We came here because it was conveniently located near my Dad's place. They were able to seat 8 of us fairly quickly, but everything else was not good. The ramen was uninspiring and the broth not flavorful. The service was extremely poor - there seemed to be just one woman taking orders and needed more help. However, she responded to everything with "OK" but I don't think she understood what we were asking - for example my brother and I asked to split our ramen bowl and she said "OK", but later brought just him the bowl. I asked for an extra bowl and after 5 min I had to hunt her down to get it. Other issues included not getting chopsticks, drinks, and appetizers until asking several times. The Ramen looked and tasted great besides my noodles as well as the eggs coming out cold. Service was just ok but the interior decorator is pretty nice. I appreciated there being a gluten free noodle option. I opted for the potato noodles which were some of my favorite Ramen noodles to date and I just got back from a trip to Japan with lots of Ramen for over a week straight. I thought we had found a good new spot but unfortunately we both ended up getting sick from the food and are still having stomach cramps today which may explain why this place was not very well frequented on a Saturday night inside the mall since from the other reviews on here it seems like we may not be the only people who have experienced food bourne illness from this place! Maybe management will read reviews sometimes and will improve upon hot holding and refrigeration practices...having worked in the industry for too many years I don't ever give bad reviews unless they are truly warranted and it's a bummer when there is so much potential but cleanliness and proper food handling practices seem to be lacking... read more

Went here for lunch today because I love ramen and want to try all the new places. So happy that there's finally a ramen restaurant in Kent. However, it's a disappointment. The broth is okay; I didn't think it's that flavorful compared to others big name out there. I would give it 3 stars for food; however, the service is HORRIBLE. It was pretty dead considered there's only 1 more group beside us in the restaurant. My friend turns on a video trailer of a movie we're going to go see and this Asian, older lady waitress walks by us to greet an incoming customer and said we need to turn it down. My husband has been excited to try this place since he heard one was opening closer to where we live. We finally went to try it out for lunch today. We were seated quickly with menus. She brought us water promptly. Service was looking good. I had a question about the Gluten Free Ramen. The entire reason my husband was excited to try this place out. Being gluten free you don't find many restaurants you can eat a Ramen dish at. I wondered if you could get meat instead of tofu. (I am gluten free, but not vegetarian. Which this dish isn't either since it uses a chicken broth). I didn't get an answer to my question since she interjected that they are out of Gluten Free noodles. So if we decide to come back or if you are gluten free - I'd recommend calling first before going through the entire process of being seated, and looking for food as a group (I am the only GF person) only to have everyone leave and find another place to eat. #awkward I was content with letting everyone else eat without me, though, but that is awkward for everyone else. read more
