It was a simple fix as they were able to quickly reignite the pilot light and the serviceman explained and showed me how to reignite it myself should this happen again. Literally, after the service man left, an hour later, the pilot light went out again. I called McKee plumbing back and asked if the service man could return. I decided to go ahead and replace the water heater and the serviceman was kind enough to apply my initial service call fee towards the cost of the replacement which they didn't have to do.
