Truly the best sushi around!! The Shige family has created such a lovely environment! They welcome & treat you like family as they provide the most incredible food & service in the Valley. The pictures speak for themselves as there are no words to aptly depict their wonderful creations!! Yuki is so friendly & funny! He is a fantastic chef & it's amazing to see his work! Netta is such a delight & we love seeing her beautiful smile! We come here hungry & leave with full tummies & warm hearts!!!

First time here. Came here for my birthday dinner. Good service and the sushi was excellent. We will definitely be back.

Food was absolutely amazing as well as the chefs and waitresses were so sweet and amazing, i never felt rushed and the chef made some roll specifically for me and my friend (it was slow during this time idk if they do that consistently). The place was also just beautiful. As well as cheap for the quality of food.

Sugar Daddy (crab, shrimp, lettuce & cream cheese) and sauce drizzled.

Lunch date with my daughter. Super fun, good food, great atmosphere, service and price. Shige and staff are always spot on.

I havent been to this place before and i will not be going again. The service was horrible, i asked a simple question of "how many sashimis would be in the assorted sashimi OVER RICE dish?" They gave out many different pieces of 8 12 16 so i chose 8. The food comes back and its on a big block of ice?? I had to ASK for the rice ?? And there was not even 8 pieces on there? I was more than furious. It seems like they dont even know their own menu. The place was rough didnt look as fancy as i thought it was going to be for the price i paid for 2 dishes. A roll and my sashimi. They charged me extra for my sashimi as well. 30$ for this? also the lady that works there is really passive aggressive.

Service was great as usual, however I've been missing the Thursday boat rotary. We finally went and as excited as we were for rotary, we have to say it's not worth it!!! After reading reviews I should've said ok they can't be lying, but we wanted to experience. 2 pieces per plate at $3 each and small pieces was a disappointment. We ended up ordering from the menu because after 4 plates each we weren't even getting full. We'll probably return for their menu items, but rotary...never again :(

Amazing food, friendly people, great place. Boats are cute. Very affordable for the great quality fish they serve. Sake is good too. special greeting to Shige Jr. great chef.

Our water cups didn't even have the chance to get to empty and we never waited around wishing someone would ask if we needed anything. The service was great. I would love to tell you the food was equally as amazing but it was definitely a miss for our tastebuds. My husband and I both ordered the Kinya Ramen, and for something that is meant to be a signature dish, it unfortunately lacked cohesiveness. Now I'm not saying it didn't have flavor, because there were many flavors in the ramen. The problem is that they didn't work together. The umami flavor you typically find in a rich pork broth was missing. Almost as if the ramen ingredients were sitting in a water mixed with a bit of garlic oil and nothing else. The chasu was tough to chew and the egg was cooked perfectly but had an almost vinegar-like bite to it. The gyoza was just okay. We also ordered sesame balls that were overcooked. We really wanted to love it here. On the bright side, the location was clean and our waitress was very attentive.

I come here several times per year because I love the vibe, chefs, service and food. Reservations are a must if you want timely seating and less wait...and ensure your entire party is with you prior to your reservation time. My most recent visit was to celebrate my birthday, though I didn't tell them that for fear of the extra attention. I know some people love that, but it's not my thing. Our service was incredible from start to finish...prompt and expertly timed food drop-off, pick-up and drink refills. We started with the Gyoza. The Gyoza was fresh, hearty and steamed with those amazing crispy brown seams. The sauce was delicious as well. Those were gone in maybe 3 minutes. Next came the miso soup, which was a slightly seasoned broth soup. A nice compliment to the salad, drizzled with a thousand island-like dressing and crisp lettuce. Next our hibachi chef Herman appeared with our cart full of meats, veggies and eggs. He crafted the most fun, hilarious and DELICIOUS meal I've ever had there. I ordered the chicken and shrimp, hubby had the chicken and filet. The steak was cooked medium rare and nicely seasoned. Each piece of chicken or shrimp was seasoned, sauced and buttered to perfectly plump. The fried rice was delicious! Literally, every bite of rice, meat and veggies just sang. We couldn't stop raving about our experience and I was actually sad to see Herman leave instead of sitting down to join us.

But food came quickly and there was no issues The beef carpaccio was delicious, although the salad on the side was a waste. The Dino Egg was good, but quiteessy and fell apart easily, as the bowl made it difficult to cut. Lollipop roll was wonderful though. Overall a solid visor.

Our server, MJ, did a really great job taking care of us. She was nice, friendly, helpful, and attentive. Our daughter had the Unicorn sushi roll with a side of edamame, my wife had a bowl of clam chowder and the shrimp scampi, and I had the fish and chips (cod; they also offer salmon and halibut, but the halibut, which I would have liked, was double the price at $38). For dessert, we shared the key lime pie. My wife said the clam chowder was OK, but more potatoes than clams. She did like her scampi. Our daughter liked the sushi roll. And, I liked the beer battered cod with the tartar sauce, and their fries were nicely seasoned and fairly crispy ( a little crispier would have been nice). The key lime pie had a rougher texture; I like it more creamy. Still good, though. I liked the exterior of the building. Red brick, arched windows that have a Mediterranean feel, and an exterior staircase that gives a bit of an industrial vibe. I thought it would be a little more upscale inside, but it is more basic wood tables and booths. There is a patio area, and it looks like there is an upstairs patio or dining area as well. All in all, a good first experience. We will definitely return.
