Awesome spot with an absolutely amazing bee selection. I'm just glad they have other than IPAs.. and the local beers are abundant and easy to spot on the menu. Montana has some good beers. Soooo disappointing. The fact that you have to pay for your beer and your food at different times is annoying. The food was 2 out of 10 honestly. The fish tacos were not good. I went to Shine bi-weekly before the pandemic hit and loved it. The freedom to order and pay at my leisure is always a plus with 4 kids. No waiting for a waitress is something I value! Since this past March I have only gone in, very rarely, to the Bottle Shop and it is the best beer selection in town, by far. Bozeman has needed this for a long time! The staff is beyond friendly and always helpful, at a nice distance. If you're a beer fan, or want to learn, Shine is the place to go! I really want to love this place. I've had multiple visits to shine in the last couple of months. And no complaints about their beer selection everything they serve is amazing. Although I love their food, every time I come in and order even something to go, they serve me the most measly portions. For example I went in a few nights ago and ordered a build your own bowl to go and for each item I asked for they barely gave me even a spoonful! And not to mention chips! When I ordered a bag to go he gave me a bag that was barely like ten chips! I don't know if it's how they're being trained to serve the food or if the employees just don't want to give you the deserved portion but that does not seem right. Their food staff is usually so low energy and not very friendly, and make it super awkward for you standing there even after the transaction has gone through expecting a tip. Don't get me wrong I work in the food service industry and am a very avid tipper and always do my very best to be kind and inviting to customers even when tired but I have not been satisfied with my experience and have tried to give them multiple chances. read more

They have a good mix of limited edition Montana beers along with harder to find domestic beers and an excellent variety of Belgian / German / Polish beers. Great design and fantastic space for groups of all sizes. Beer recommendations and selections are possibly best in Bozeman. All this said, food quality is the weak point. Rice was not cooked, portions are relatively small, and prices were not inexpensive. The BBQ Bourbon sauce used on the some of the bowls is very good; however, not much else was. I was told the establishment was dog friendly. When I arrived, they would not serve outdoors which was fine. Dogs were not allowed indoors, also fine, but then I was told the only way to order was either hand my dog to a stranger or tether him to a table. This is not safe. The staff spent quite a bit of time telling me about the tethering yet wouldn't take my order. made no sense. Dogs were staring at one another and when I mention that to the staff they immediately just assumed that my dog was not friendly rather than realizing that this is not a safe situation for any dog. They were quite rude about it and I would not recommend nor return to this establishment. I would definitely not classify them as dog friendly either. read more

This is a great place for beer and food. Unfortunately it was poorly designed for cold weather. On a recent visit when the temperature outside was below 20 degrees F, the tempertature inside was below 60 F. As such customers were all sitting around in their jackets and hats to stay warm. This is not a good environment for happy customers. read more

As a fan of the old garage restaurant I decided to check the new place out. It reminded me of a production line for burritos, like Chipotle, with a beer pub attached. Since there are no waitresses, there is a line for beer and one for food. The meat came from a Saran Wrap bag, I assume the meat was prepared earlier in the day. Very bland tasting. read more

Bottle shop review only. Decent selection. Some classics, some hard to find selections. The prices are off base and overpriced. Paid $18/6 pack of Hopworks. Was so confused I emailed the brewery who told me the suggested retail price was $10.99, which they stated would fetch a hefty margin. Potential is there but prices are unrealistic. I buy a six pack numerous times a week so I hope there is a reality check coming so I can be a repeat customer. Would love to support another local business in the neighborhood. read more

I came in late, got Chile at Lapis. Ommengang is one of my favorite breweries and they had a keg of Adoration 2020 that I had never had. The keg was empty, but the closed sanctuary had a crowler. I managed to pick up some other hard to find beers. By far the best selection of beers I have found in MT. read more

We were big fans of the Garage. Their souls and sandwiches were great. We went to Shine today. I ordered the chicken soup and it was chicken and bright with a few onions. They asked if I wanted pasta. I said yes. They scooped some noodles into my soup and that was it. They had slipped it into the microwave but it was still not hot. No celery, no carrots. Really?
