They are honest, they do excellent work, they know exactly what they're doing, and they are very reasonable. I called them at 2:00 and told them what my problem was (the screen of my MacBook Pro was detaching and I couldn't close it all the way) they told me to bring it in. I got to their shop at 3:00 they looked at it and told me to come back in an hour - I was fearful they might not be able to fix it. When I returned at 5:00 I was very pleasantly amazed, my computer was repaired. It opens and closes better than when it was new. They showed me the hinges they replaced - they had the Apple parts on the premises (that was very impressive) and they charged me a fraction of what I expected the repair to cost. They are very pleasant. I have never before written a review on Yelp - but their quick reliable repair of my computer was really something special. I highly recommend them. read more

Daniel has saved at least three of our computers and another 3 of our extended families. We send everyone there. When Best Buy said they couldn't recover any files from a crashed hard drive...we brought it to Daniel. He recovered ALL our photos and videos. We just brought my parents Apple computer that Apple insisted could not be fixed...the guys at Shine again recovered all the files and put in a new hard drive and updated all the software. I called with a PC emergency just a few minutes before they closed, and they not only waited for me to bring my computer in, but they stayed almost an hour late to diagnose the problem. Wow - these guys are great. I left my computer -- with its bad hard drive -- with Shine Electronics at the end of the day, just as Shine was about to close. Everything was ready by the afternoon the next day! I had a new SSD hard drive (super-fast) plus Shine reinstalled all my programs and even added a program and gadget or two that I really like. These guys are great. I have been using their services for more than 10 years. ..from PC's to Macs. My daughter's macbook recently crashed and Apple suggested I take it to TechServ on 23rd St. They said it would cost $600 to $1100 to replace the hard drive and recover the data. Shine quoted me $300 for the same work. (It turned out the mac was still under warranty so Apple replaced that). They also helped boot transfer the recovered data back onto the repaired machine at no extra charge. The job was done in a day. I have the greatest respect for their work and will continue to recommend them. read more

Succeeds when Apple and Tekserve fail. My 2008 MacPro had a meltdown. Apple store geniuses said"too old, we can't help." I called Tekserve, described the issue, they said "bring 'er in" and after schlepping it there and waiting in line: "Too old. . . ." I take it to Shine, a few days and $400 later, it's running like a champ (that was 8 mos. ago). All the data was migrated to a new (more powerful) hard drive. Nice guys who've fixed a few other things, always coming through. Highly recommended. read more
