Looked up local doggy daycare places. Zoomies has a great rating. Called, set up appointment, brought in my dog for eval and he played for 4 hours while I explored the town. Pros: Spoke to friendly & knowledgeable staff to book the eval. Booked it same day, called at 8am and went there around 1030am. Set up an online account and signed the waiver before arrival. Easy and quick behavior evaluation of my dog before acceptance into play group. Able to pay for 1/2 day rate which was affordable. Staff seemed very caring about the dogs. Many regulars dropped off their dogs while I waited for my pup to join, and the staff greeted them by name and dogs looked happy to be there. Cons: None noted, if pressed for a con I would say I don't like the cleaning product they use for the kennel, had a strong "chemically" smell but I would rather they clean it than have it be a strong dog smell.

I also asked to upload photos so I can see her. Last time the desk person said the message was passed on. When I picked Zoey up, I asked about photos and they paused then said they were TOO BUSY.

Prior to several weeks ago, the last I was here was around the time the pandemic started. I was there to get some straw bales for the garden. Finally used them all up and went back the other day to get just one bale to use for padding to store apples and various bulbs for the winter. The young woman behind the counter was very helpful and pleasant explaining the options and what was available. So I made my purchase and went to the storage area to pick up the bale. The bale that was pulled for me was about 1/3 damp/wet and not appropriate for the intended use. I asked the young man for another that was right there and he said the was for another order and he had to load up the flatbed with it and told me to move my car. I did so. I cleared some space for the bale and he drove off. I waited. There were no other bales that were dry. Most bales were stacked about 20-30 feet high and not accessible. He returned about 10-15 minutes later. Parked his vehicle, jumped out and grabbed his walkie talkie as he got out and made a call and walked away. Never acknoweldged I was still there. Never asked if he could help. Looked at me while he was starting to talk and walked off to the main building. I waited a few minutes. Never came back. I went in to the main building to ask for my money back. The entire staff was engaged in cornering a squirrel that had gotten in to the building. Finally another fellow (older. the owner?) asked if I needed help. I asked for my money back. He asked if there was a problem and I explained the above. Whereupon the young man asked if I had a problem with him. When I said that I did, he became belligerent and verbally abusive. He told me that I could and should have taken another bale. When I pointed out that they all were wet and that the dry ones required machinery to get down, he told me that I should have told him. Like, when? When he was driving away? When he was on the phone and walking away? He told me that I should have come back and asked for a refund. Hell, I wanted a dry bale, not the refund. And somehow I was supposed to know all of this in the moment without any offer of help or curiosity of what I was still there leaning against my car when he returned. It deteriorated from there with him seeming to suggest that he was going to fight/hit me right there in the main building. Unbelievable! I got my refund. I left and told them I would never be back and that I would let others know of my experience. Consider yourselves informed.

Nevertheless, our dog was last groomed 6 weeks ago. When I picked up my dog, I found that they had cut her ears all the way to the leather and shaved all the hair off her ears claiming her hair was matted. It wasn't matted, she is groomed monthly and we brush her ears. More importantly, I didn't give them permission to shave my dog's ears making her look freakish. I will never go back. Odd that a groomer would do such a thing without calling first. There are other more capable groomers in Santa Fe.

I am SO glad I followed the recommendation. My Labradoodle and I arrived when they opened, and the gentleman at the front desk spent a lot of time with me as I described exactly what I wanted, showed him pictures, etc. I figured he would think I was crazy, but then he showed me how they keep detailed notes on each animal they groom, so they can do the exact same groom each time, or tweak it according to the owner's desires. When I picked up my buddy a few hours later, I was so thrilled to see him. He looked better than he's ever looked-----even better than the photos I'd left with them. They even took the time to carefully trim his face to show off his 2 inch eyelashes. Sweet! AND.....the price was less than Barks and Bubbles. After my last experience there, I will never go back to B&B. Everyone we came in contact with at ENV was super-friendly, from the first phone contact to pick up. From now on it is only ENV for me and my four legged furbaby.

We felt such peace of mind knowing that our dog was being cared for by Elana. During one vacation, Elana was gracious enough to agree to watch our dog even though she had her own vacation planned. She took our dog on vacation with her to a beautiful lake, and sent us daily pictures of the adventures she and our dog had. She was even able to get our dog - who previously had not liked water - to play in the lake! I think our dog had more fun than we did during that vacation!
