I don't really know what I was expecting. I kind of thought the donuts here would be out of the world amazing and I have to say, I was a little disappointed. They were ok, just ok. I tried the sugar twist, cinnamon roll with maple glaze and the raspberry filled. Just a regular old donut. Enough said.

This was my first time trying Shipley's donuts as I couldn't resist stopping by, on my way out and on my way home. Yes I came here 2 times in one day. I tried the apple friter, sugar donut, and cinnamon sugar donuts and I'd have to say the donut craving I did not know I had, was fulfilled. The apple fritter was angel soft with a chewy outer layer and fritter gooey yumminess hidden inside. I took the sugar donuts to-go and ate it for breakfast the following morning (microwaved for 15 seconds) Tasted just as good as the fritter if not better. I commend Shipleys for creating donuts with warm flavorful taste, fresh quality, and no room for disappointment. Note i do not want to discredit the one star review below me, but I did not experience the aged donut quality as the reviewer mentioned. Perhaps the reviewer purchased donuts right before closing? The apple fritter was still warm when I bought it. I suggest those who receive cold donuts to utilize the microwave inside the shop.

I've been coming to this place since it opened over 25 years ago and while there are occasional fluctuations in service and the way particular donuts are presented, it has been consistent, good and fresh. To me, the smaller inconsistencies one could complain about are negligible when you are considering a place that has been around so long and has truly stood the tests of time. I love the counter staff. They handle a busy shop with speed and efficiency and still manage to be gracious and polite to childish customers who decide to be rude because they have to wait a few minutes for the glaze on the donuts to dry (True Story, sad I know...)

Plenty of assorted donuts. The Devils food was very good. The young girl was very sweet and offered me a larger bag for my tacos I purchased next door. They had 2 different sized honey buns. The also have coffee and fountain drinks.

Very kind and patient with the customers. Going to have to swing by for the office donuts more often. Favorite Shipleys in town.

Everyone was incredibly sweet and attentive, and you could see how genuinely they enjoyed interacting with their customers. It honestly felt like being around family and friends, which is something so rare nowadays. The decor was so fun too! Our eyes kept wandering around because there was always another piece of art or little detail to look and giggle at. If you're thinking about going, please do! I guarantee you'll love it just as much as we did. We're definitely coming back and bringing more friends with us! 10/10!

The coffee was smooth, and the staff worked well as a team. They were attentive and knowledgeable about both the menu and the restaurant's history. We learned that the restaurant is run by a chef duo and that their baker starts around 4 a.m. preparing the day's baked goods. We ordered the Yolkster and the Dirty South. The Yolkster showed solid technique. The hollandaise was glossy, properly emulsified and balanced between richness and acidity. The over-easy egg released a perfectly fluid yolk, while the scratch-made English muffin was nicely browned and crisp outside with a tender interior. The bacon was a little overdone for me, but the chicken sausage was a pleasant surprise with a nice balance of acid and salt. The Dirty South looks heavy when it arrives, but the dish comes together surprisingly well. The sausage gravy was one of the better versions I've had in a while. Good consistency, proper color, plenty of sausage and none of the raw or scorched flour taste that can ruin a gravy. The biscuit was dense but fully cooked with visible layers. The potatoes could have used more exterior crispness. The pico brought a welcome freshness and acidity that cut through the richness of the gravy, biscuit, egg and cheese. A little more would have helped maintain that balance throughout the dish. What impressed me most was the technique behind all that personality. Scratch-made breads, properly cooked eggs, a well-made hollandaise and carefully prepared sausage gravy show a kitchen paying attention to the fundamentals. I left curious about the rest of the menu. Next time, I'm trying the pancakes.

We drove around the building a couple times trying to locate the coffee shop. We decided to just park and walk inside to see if we were in the right location. The lady at the front desk pointed us to the coffee. My boyfriend ordered a white chocolate latte and I got the butterscotch cappuccino. The guy working (not sure if he was the owner or not) was very friendly. Both of our coffees had nice added flavor, but the coffee flavor was really watered down. It was like when all the ice melts in your coffee and then you added flavor to try and save it. We only drank maybe a quarter of our drinks before tossing them. Could have just been a bad day. I'd also suggest adding some type of signage outside so customers know where to go.

It is located on a relatively busy street in a small, not too busy plaza. There was ample parking for both times I have been. There is a thoughtfully arranged "platform" if you will that resembles a welcoming porch at a good friend's place. The gentleman that owns this pop-up was very sweet and made sure that all my needs were met. I ordered a sugar free vanilla iced latte and it was so good! So good that I was willing to drive 30 minutes to San Antonio for my fix. The owner also brought me a complimentary organic lemon muffin after finding out it was my first time and it was just the right around of sweetness and tart, it was soft as well.
