    Love the outdoor patio!

I love shipwreck. My family and I go here all the time. I love the crab cakes, the shrimp, buffalo shrimp, ragoons and I always get the blackened grouper! The service is absolutely amazing and I love the owner Alex! The team goes above and beyond to make us feel special! I also hosted a party in the event space and they did such a fabulous job! I highly recommend Shipwreck if you are looking for great scratch cooking and seafood! I also had the best key lime pie of my life!

We have tried this place before and was not up to what I would say was good that was before we even tried the food since we left before being served. The name fits the decor perfectly it took a several minutes to be noticed at the hostess station right there that's points off to me since that's why we walked out the first time. The gentleman came told us only the bar area is available since they like everyone else is short staffed this in turn effected the service all around but yet he sat people dinning room after we sat at the bar kind of strange. The food selection went along with the name nothing mind blowing. Was hoping the first try there was just a bad day for them but after the second visit nope

Burned chicken from Shipwreck in Griffith, In. The other side looked even worse but Sharon didn't want me to be so obvious.

After jonesing for some shrimp from Shipwreck for a couple of weeks, we finally get back there. I got my shrimp, and Sharon got fried chicken. The chicken was burned (photo attached). I finally talked Sharon into sending a dish back. Yay! The waitress, who was great, said 'ya a lot of people ask about that. It seems like it's the oil they use'. Um, ok, but we don't want it. So we split my shrimp dinner while the plate of burned chicken sat on our table waiting for the manager - who never came by our table. Instead, the 'manager' put it on the waitress to apologize on his/her behalf. The place was not that busy and that is a classless and gutless move. My rating drops from 4 to 2.

Cozy nightlife at Shipwreck in Griffith, IN.

Through the breaking sun light from miles of greenery lies an island of exotic artisian entrees over fresh cut fries keeping the hot summer nights wildly tasteful and original. The refurbished atmosphere brings a satiating and savoring seafood excursion with music, key lime sweet finishes, and an outdoor cozy eatery for a dinner as intriguing as the location away from the daily grind of after work traffic and shopping mall madness. First time I enjoyed the pig bread, and the fries are delicious. Voodoo sauce was new too, pulled pork, crumbled cheese I love, and a little buffalo sauce always wakes my tastebuds. Wish I had two stomachs for the shrimp that can be ordered on a wonderful plate made from true hearts of Florida. Ahhh! a place to feel closer to oceanic crustacean creations with white sand beaches in mind, and a welcoming and friendly tropical staff at this enchanting restaurant shipwrecked in the quiet wooded area of Griffith to getaway for a bite of Floridas finest seafood cooked and served nicely. Gotta go back.

As always, the restaurant was clean and well maintained. We were seated in the coffee shop area, which was about half full. Our server greeted us immediately with a warm smile and welcoming personality. She promptly took our drink orders and returned shortly after to take our meal selections. We started with an order of chicken livers. There was a bit of confusion because on a previous visit I had ordered a half portion of the appetizer. I asked for that again, but the server seemed unsure. When the bill arrived, we were charged the full $16 appetizer price. After checking with the manager, she informed us that half portions are no longer offered. Had that been clearly explained upfront, I likely would not have ordered them. That said, the livers were outstanding -- possibly the best I've ever had. I requested the onions well done, and they came out perfect. The livers were tender, buttery, and beautifully seasoned. Honestly, they were hearty enough to be a meal on their own. My wife ordered the boned breaded perch lunch portion. We've had it several times before and it has always been excellent. The light breading allows the tender, flaky perch to shine. One small disappointment: there is now a $2 charge (noted on the menu) for melted butter to accompany the perch. I ordered the breaded frog legs, which we've also enjoyed in the past. They were delicious again. The same $2 charge applies if you want melted butter with the frog legs. Lunch portions include a side -- mashed potatoes with gravy, the daily vegetable (green beans), and a choice of four slices of marinated beets or coleslaw. Unfortunately, the green beans were served at room temperature. Aside from the misunderstanding regarding the appetizer portion, the service was excellent. We will definitely be back.
