Went last night with my three girls. It just opened on Monday and when checking in they were eating that that got slammed and kitchen was behind trying to get food out. This is to be expected for seafood restaurant in this area when no other exists do I told them it was ok. Seated us at 8:15 and wait staff was nice but apologetic about earlier problems. Ordered a Blue Hawaii drink which was good. We got the crab Rangoon , cheese sticks, and pirates booty which is like poutine with pulled pork. The fries were had cut and tasted great apps took about 20 minutes to come out. Kids got Mac and cheese and chicken strips which they liked. I ordered the blackened grouper sandwich which was great but it took another 30 to come out. There were some angry people there that had to wait for food and were taking it out on wait staff. My advice is if you go now be patient and order done fun drinks because it is packed because to food is great. In a couple of weeks the kitchen will get in its groove. read more

I was dying to try this new restaurant out...I mean really excited about a seafood gem near my home!!! However, my excitement quickly soured. We walked in and was quickly seated. Unfortunately our table was a window seat with quite a few dead bugs on the ledge. We requested another table and waited and waited for our food to come out. Our wait time from time of order to delivery was approximately 50 minutes. With this wait time, I just knew the food would be delicious. Again, to my disappointment the food was just OKAY! Went there for eat-in dinner last Sat night around 6:30. Only 2 tables of customers dining in. Very disappointing experience. They were out of the beer we ordered, out of the rib eye egg roll appetizer we ordered, and out of the lake perch dinner we specifically went there for. Waitress did not inform us they were out of anything until we ordered it. Ordered the jumbo Maryland crab cake appetizer as a backup and it came with 2 tiny crab cakes for $14. Not sure if this was an off-night or the place has gone downhill. Their waitress said they ran out of the lake perch Friday. Dining out should be an enjoyable experience even during the pandemic. We sat down to have dinner and knew people who were having a party there. They thought we were affiliated with the party and told us we couldn't sit in the dining area and would have to go sit with them. After telling them we had nothing to do with the party and we had our separate check, etc... they were nothing but rude, practically threw our food at us, never gave us silverware, and never came back to check on us. The waitress continued to give us dirty looks, point fingers, and loudly talk badly about us being in her section. I have been getting the lobster roll since this restaurant opened in 2018. Then, the sandwiches were generous in size, and had a lot of lobster meat. Now, the sandwiches are half the size and much less meat, and $2.00 more!. Our sweet potato fries were also mushy. Tonight I paid $49.22 for 2 lobster roll sandwiches, and a crab cake appetizer! We had to get an appetizer because the tiny lobster roll won't even fill up a small woman. Each dish has increased in price $2.00 since it opened last year. Not only they did add an extremely high price hike, but shrunk the food, too. It's a very expensive place to eat now. Did they really think no one would notice? read more

This used to be one of our favorite local places...after today....NEVER AGAIN! We went there with the intent of introducing some friends to Hoosier hospitality and left after 2.5 hours, no food, excuses, lies, rude employees and an overall terrible visit. Service: Server was obviously new at this and stumbled over her words, gave my boyfriend a ridiculous sized straw with his refill, and all 3 of us at the table heard her say "Duck by Chocolate" instead of "Death by Chocolate" which left us very confused. I ordered a lobster roll, which was great, but the mac and cheese was greatly disappointing. I could tell it wasn't even cooked with any seasoning and I had to load on the salt and a bit of pepper on there for it to just be tolerable. With the amount of cheese on there, you can barely call that mac and cheese. While my lobster roll was stuffed and looked delicious, my boyfriend's grilled mahi mahi burger looked like something you could get from McDonald's. It was dry and needs some sort of aioli or something to keep in the moisture. All it was was some veggies topped on top of the fish. It looked like crap compared to my sandwich. He was extremely disappointed with his sandwich, and with the mac and cheese. It seems like a HUGE hit or miss here, especially for the price. $4 for a tiny side of mac and "cheese"? I'm hesitant to try anything here because of how disappointing the side and mahi mahi sandwich were. Please perfect your sides, take some feedback, and taste your food. Nothing that ever leaves your kitchen should ever be compared to McDonald's. Put some more care in your food. Train your employees more, or hire ones that are more familiar with their job duties. I attempted to place an order by phone for pickup and was told I'd have to come into restaurant to place order. I went to the restaurant and placed the order and waited 45 minutes for my food. The food was good I just didn't think that 2 Mahi Mahi tacos were worth the price. Hopefully they'll start taking phone orders soon. read more

My husband & I have been wanting to try this place out & unfortunately we were not impressed. The atmosphere is nice and the staff was very courteous, professional & prompt. Our food however was a different story. My husband got the grouper with sweet potato fries & veggies. Although seasoned well, the fish was unbelievably small, like the size of my hand. The veggies were good as were the fries....well, the properly cooked ones. The bowl with the fries contained a layer of good ones on top but we soon uncovered the rest underneath that were ALL burnt! I got the perch with slaw & mac n cheese. My perch was really good & well cooked & the tartar was good. Slaw was ok, but for me, the mac n cheese was the worst thing on the table. It was gummy & tasted like it was cooked a few hours prior. I was baffled that this was even served. We decided against quite a few appetizers bc of the prices. Our bill was $40 for 2 dinners & an ice tea. I would be willing to try it again, however the prices are way to high to risk that kind of disappointment. In addition, we left at 8:30pm and there were absolutely NO LIGHTS in the parking lot or on the outside of the building. It was pitch black. Amazing restaurant especially if you like bbq and seafood. Really cool local venue for live music. Saw Sticky Scissors here and they were epic. In the warmer months their patio is the place to be. First time trying this restaurant on Father's Day and I really wanted this to be a good experience but it failed. First off we waited about 10-12 minutes for the waitress to even come to the table and the place was empty, just another family at another table. Had 2 appetizers buffalo shrimp and chicken wings. The shrimp were awesome just perfect, the the wings came out and they were raw and bloody, not very appetizing. Had the grouper and it came out in several pieces instead of a nice filet, not very appealing but tasted just ok. I had high hopes but not this time. Griffith, IN is turning into quite the spot for good food and drinks these days. It's nice to see that run down Romano's building turned into something good. We went to Shipwreck on a Saturday evening. The place was quite packed and we had to wait for about a half hour. There were open seats at the bar so we had a couple drinks while we waited. It's quite pleasant inside with a large open concept. Very clean and remodeled. I am a big fan of bloody Mary's and I will say they have one of the better ones around the area. A bit spicy, but a great taste. The bartender was very attentive even though he had a lot of people to pay attention to. Once we were seated, we ordered the Crab Rangoon and the crab stuffed jalapeño poppers. They were both served with a sweet dipping sauce that was extremely good. I had the Nashville hot chicken sandwich. It is made with a chicken thigh, but the waitress suggested I get it made with a chicken breast instead. I had that with a side order of sweet potato fries. The sandwich was good but wasn't anything special. It was just kind of thrown together and was a bit small. The fries were amazing. My girlfriend had the fried shrimp and fries. She was happy with her meal. As far as drinks, the Blue Hawaiian was very good. I had the "Hook" Margarita and I did not care for that too much. We did try a peppermint Mocha Martini that was to die for. All in all it was a great experience. Can't wait to go back in the summer to sit on the massive deck outside. I was going to switch to a beer. The waitress must have misunderstood what was going on at our table because she brought me the same drink again. No alcohol in it again. $14 wasted. My friend ordered 2 appetizers. Small portions for the price. Five little cheese balls & half of them didn't even have cheese in them. My buffalo shrimp were not that great either. Service was mediocre, I asked for napkins 4times and never received any! Sautéed lake perch had breading? Fried perch has breading, not SAUTÉED! The waitress got a manager, Alex, who we found out later is an owner, she came over and said all of their perch comes breaded and if I have an allergy then I should inform the waitress of my allergy. I have NEVER at any restaurant had to explain why I need something made a certain way especially when sautéed comes naked?! Our shrimp dinner we ordered 1/2 breaded and 1/2 naked, it came all breaded and when we told the waitress she said she told the kitchen several times and they wouldn't listen. When we told the manager she said you can request stuff like that when it's not busy but otherwise everything come ONE WAY AND ONE WAY ONLY. Well, then why did the waitress let us order it that way? Pretty sure at any restaurant I have ever been to you can order food the way you want it?? Also, we had half and half shrimp last week with no issues. The remade perch without breading was disgusting, it was so fishy, over cooked and bony!! Lake perch isn't fishy, it was so fishy I asked for extra lemon and melted butter.
