A hidden gem! Since discovering this place, we can't get enough! We order with the online ordering for pickup which is so convenient as I don't like to call and order food. My only complaint so far is that you can't get the prime rib through online ordering- maybe they could just add "only available on Friday & Saturday" on their menu description? I love their create your own omelette but do wish I could put in a comment on the online ordering to request them to leave off the bread/hash brown sides or be able to substitute them as I can't have bread or potatoes. Delicious sausage patties. My husband has ordered half of the menu by now and has really enjoyed everything that he has tried. The baby enjoys the pancakes. Holy moley! So good! If there is a wait to eat, WAIT. Its totally worth it! Wonderful drinks, huge portions, eggs cooked to PERFECTION. This review is specifically for the build your own scramble. I got cheddar, tomato, broccoli, mushroom. And it was by far one of the best scrambles I've ever had! High quality ingredients, fresh! Big portions!! The whole wheat toast was so good too. We are just passing through town, but if I lived here I'd get it all the time! We stopped here on a whim because we were too hungry to make it to Olympia and we were glad we did. There are 3 outdoor picnic tables with umbrella shade which was important to us. Sometimes when you sit outside you are forgotten but there were several servers checking in on us. Recommend burgers and garlic fries. Kids meals for $4-5 were plenty for hungry kiddos. We've always enjoyed the Shipwreck but with Covid they've reduced their menu taking off some of our favorite dishes like their Tuna Melts! While we can understand the impact and the sadly reduced patronage, we're hopeful that they'll reconsider returning some of our favorite dishes! read more

Had breakfast there recently and had a normal bacon and egg with hash browns. Nothing special , actually I didn't enjoy the bacon kind of greasy . The inside of the restaurant is very nice but the price of the menu is very high compared to others . The bacon and eggs were 16.75, highest in Thurston county, they priced me out and I will not be back again. Comparable breakfast like Fatsos is only 10.00 . Not sure why they are so overpriced. Out of many F & B menu items. Fish & chips were a tiny portion vs description by waitress when placing order to decide on what size to order. Food cold before condiments arrived. Only one server for whole place... basically tossed bill on table as she ran to another table. On positive side, we were able to watch Sun nite Football. A quaint little diner with restaurant prices. The staff were very nice and the food was prepared very quickly. My husband had biscuits and gravy, two eggs, hashbrowns and two pieces of bacon - because of the bacon and his soda his meal was $18.00. It was not a ton of food nor did it impress in anyway and this seems like quite a bit for a mediocre breakfast. I had oatmeal which was $5.50. It was good oatmeal and there was a lot of it. Still, $23.50 for mediocre breakfast is just not something we can afford. read more

I got the fish sandwich and added cheddar Jack to go which said it has tartar sauce tomato lettuce and pickle.... What I got when I opened up the box was two extremely over done prices of fried fish sitting on top of a dry grilled roll with cheese and no sauce tomato lettuce or anything. This was the biggest joke I've seen, how the hell would any chef think that is acceptable to leave the kitchen. They probably joked about it before it was sent out. Okay so my vehicle broke down on the side of the freeway and I towed it to RJM tires which is off of Madrona and right down the road is at a restaurant called the Shipwreck Cafe so after being stranded on the side of the highway for a little while. I was thirsty and hungry so I decided to try out this Cafe. I looked at the menu and I couldn't believe my eyes for three pieces of chicken strips three pieces mind you it was $9 without fries what the fries are made out of gold? I looked into ordering a cheeseburger and a cheeseburger was $10 without french fries this place is so expensive I have no idea how she gets the business that she does and the ratings that she does well I don't even know if it's a she whoever makes the menu and the prices. I will now be going to another restaurant that probably has better food we're the cheeseburger deluxe is $5.50 fries included. Thank you. read more

Mrs.H and I were struck with a touch of the Irish flu and were in need of a greasy spoon. First we went to the Black Bear diner and there were people waiting all the way outside so we decided to try out the Shipwreck Cafe. I had been to this spot many many moons ago when it was The Place and had a good experience. It was in the later side of the morning and there were plenty of open seats. I had the chicken fried steak and eggs (delicious) and Mrs.H had the Hangtown Fry(she was most pleased). The waitress was great. She checked in on us a lot and kept the coffee flowing. The bathrooms are men and women's single occupancys. I had a little intestinal distress (had to poop real bad) prier to the meal and marveled at the efficiency of the exhaust. The Tumwater Home Depot should take a lesson from the Shipwreck. During the clean up process I was interrupted by someone knocking. I hadn't been in there more than a few minutes and didn't like being hurried along. I started wishing the exhaust wasn't so effective. All in all a rather grand time was had by all. To get five stars the breakfast would be served with a nice craft beer or Bloody Mary and I would need my bathroom time to be casual and stress free. read more

Delicious clam chowder sand sweet potato fries! Delicious club sandwich!!! Grilled cheese was just ok. Milkshakes were delicious!!! We had a strawberry and a chocolate. Service was very friendly and great!!! Price was VERY affordable!!! Definitely recommend and will go there again. read more

Cute little roadside mom n pop diner/cafe it is definetely a local fave. It was very busy . I'm giving 3.5 stars for shipwreck because of the long wait we had for our food. I had a basic breakfast and hubby had pan fried oyster breakfast. He liked it ok just wasnt something he was use to eating but wanted to try. The staff was friendly and apoligetic for the wait. This place is so good!! What a great place to stop by on the way home or after a hike in the Olympics. We had the shrimp and clam strip platter which was served with cocktail sauce and tarter sauce. We went with breakfast for our entrees. I had the country fried steak and eggs with hash browns. The whole plate was so good! I also liked that the gravy for the country fried steak was layered on the bottom instead of it being smothered on top, that way the steak stayed crunchy! My boyfriend got Captain Kims breakfast with French toast. The plate was so filling and everything was cooked perfectly. We also used a groupon with ease!
