I just had breakfast at Shirley's in Erie, PA off I-90 and it was AMAZING! Renee was my server and she was pleasant and very thorough. I'm heading to Ohio from Syracuse, NY and will DEFINITELY come here again!! Highly recommend it here!!

    Potato pancake, not great.

Our breakfast took almost one hour to come out! My husband ordered hash brown well done with onions. They were not anywhere near well done and no onions. Disappointing the food was not hot after waiting so long for it. The potato pancakes we also disappointing. They looked like they were deep fried. No updates on food arrival time from server.

    3-egg omelet with honey fries

Real maple syrup! If you are looking for the kind of home cooking that your grandfather whines about, this is it. Eggs, home fries, omelets-- all good and plainly made. I had the LA cinnamon bread and fell in love-- not too sweet but delicious. Friendly staff who smile into your eyes like your aunt would. The decor made us feel very much welcome.

    Eggs Benedict and cinnamon toll

If you are looking for a delicious breakfast and a great price, head down to Shirley's and offer of Bayfront. We were great by Shirley as soon as we got in. The place it self it decorated in nostalgic diner decor and very clean. Our server was prompt and helpful. The food was just what we were looking for!

Stopped by here for breakfast and will definitely be coming back! Excellent food, excellent service, and a safe/ sanitary, warm, inviting atmosphere. They take COVID seriously and ensure their patrons and staff are safe by sanitizing every surface between customers and their staff *properly* wearing face masks. I got the egg sausage sandwich, giant cinnamon roll, and my boyfriend got the farmers breakfast and I totally forgot to take photos I wanted to eat it so badly! We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals there wasn't anything left! I also loved their hash browns and how they weren't slimey at all (personal pet peeve of mine). Can't wait to return!

We got a smorgasbord of stuff (of which items I can't even recall right now, but at least one entree salad and drinks), all of which was excellent. Even our picky daughter enjoyed herself. Solid 5 stars! Today, on my way through town on a work trip, I figured I'd stop in to replicate the magic. I opted for the short rib grilled cheese and subbed out the fries for the side of Brussels sprouts. After ordering, the food was out in about 10 minutes flat. Not a reassuring sign out of the gate... The grilled cheese was supposed to have caramelized onions. Now, I'm NOT a raw onion fan, but I can generally tolerate caramelized or fried onion strings on stuff. As you can see in the photo, the onions are NOWHERE near the color they should be to be caramelized. Sauteed? Sure, but they still had a good amount of crunch to them so not even that deeply cooked. Most of the onion leaves were still connected at the root. Also (and fortunately for me and my onion-loving self), the other half had maybe 2 very tiny pieces of onion. The short rib was done quite well and very tender but came in large chunks instead of being evenly distributed throughout the sandwich. There were also a couple rather large pieces of fat in them that was just too much to try and chew through that I had to spit out. The server was very upbeat and kind though and the inside of the place is amazing. Such a cool vibe. Overall, that's one amazing experience and one less than stellar. Being a mid-week lunch, I'm going to assume the A team wasn't on staff so I'll give the benefit of the doubt. I'll definitely come back for dinner another time for sure but I might look elsewhere for my lunch...

The restaurant is much larger than it appears from the outside. Once you head through the first dining room and down the steps, you're greeted by a warm, homey dining room with a surprisingly spacious bar. It has a comfortable neighborhood feel, and the staff was friendly throughout our visit. Our cocktails arrived in about 10 minutes, and the hush puppies followed about 20 minutes later. They had a nice flavor, but were much denser and chewier than I expected. The bigger issue was the wait for our entrees. With the restaurant not appearing particularly busy, nearly 50 minutes for fried chicken and jerk chicken felt excessive. The good news? The chicken absolutely delivered! Both the fried chicken and the jerk chicken were packed with flavor and easily stole the show. The fried chicken was crispy and juicy, while the jerk had a wonderful balance of seasoning and spice. Those dishes alone made the meal worthwhile. Unfortunately, my mashed potatoes arrived warm instead of hot. After such a long wait, I was hoping everything would come out piping hot, and that side just missed the mark. Cole slaw was fresh but pretty boring in the flavor department. I really wanted this to be the five-star experience that so many others have had. While this visit didn't quite live up to the hype, the quality of the chicken showed why Pineapple Eddie's has earned such a loyal following. We'll happily give them another shot someday and hope they earn that elusive fifth star.

Tried their omelet with hash brown, it was perfectly cooked and seasoned. I really like their crispy hash brown. Waitstaff is very nice and service was quick. The parking situation is quite tricky here, as they have a small parking lot right behind the restaurant, that would only fit about 5-6 cars. If you go during rush hours you might have to park on the street instead. Do not park in the lot on the right side of the building as there is a sign notifying that you will get towed

I'm actually not a huge breakfast eater, so I went with my standard 2 eggs, toast, and breakfast potatoes. I thought the bread was nice and fresh (though not exactly toasty), and the potatoes were for sure fresh cut, which was a really nice touch. I also had a garden salad, which was a pretty standard diner salad - romaine, some tomatoes, shredded cheese, and olives as a surprise addition. Decent size and price. The service was quick and so was our food. I thought it was a solid breakfast. Note - there is no parking, so we parked a block or so away and walked.
