Wonderful lunch experience. Everyone was friendly and the food was tasty. There is a lot of meat and not many vegetables but I think that's mostly just a characteristic of the cuisine. But the meat was delicious- moist, flavorful and great grill taste! If you do not eat much, the lunch buffet is pricey at $11.49 per person. A few negatives, none that would keep me from coming back: Pita is disappointing. It is definitely not made there. Desserts consisted of instant pudding, canned peaches, orange slices, and little doughnuts. Something more appropriate to the cuisine, like baklava, would be much better. read more

GO HERE FOR THE LUNCH BUFFET! It is a great value for Persian/Mediterranean food, particularly the kabobs and rice dishes. Mom & I went for lunch buffet. Arrived around 11:30 and there was only one other person in there besides us. This is a family-run restaurant: the mom is the cook/chef, the dad does logistics, and their son is one of the hosts/waiters. I really like the nice patio area with the beds where you can lounge and enjoy nice tea and a hookah (very well priced at only $10 I might add!) after your meal. We were instructed to sit anywhere we liked and go ahead and start the buffet. For all you can eat kabob, this place was pretty delicious. The appetizers they had such as kashk bademjoon, mirza ghasemi, etc. were quite delicious, but the hummus was pretty bland. The fresh sabzi was very welcomed. The salad Shirazi was also nonexistant on the lemon juice (I guess that's why they had fresh limes there for individuals to flavor to taste). The star of the buffet is the koobideh, the chenjeh, and the joojeh kabobs - all were juicy and fresh and, most of all, tasty. Unfortunately, the desserts are very lacking. But, to be fair, I'm not coming here for Persian/Mediterranean desserts - I'm here to fill up on my KABOB SON and get that meat overload!!! The buffet does not really have good signage so those not familiar with the dishes will have no idea what they're looking at, let alone how it will taste! If there was one thing I would suggest for the owners to fix, it would be to add more descriptions to their buffet. Rather than the traditional shish kabob or other versions of a kabob, I turned left and tried a new dish called Ghormeh Sabzi. It's sauteed herbs, beef, kidney beans, dried limes. Sounded enticing. It was rather bland and the things I tasted most were the beans and the spinach (or kale). I'm obsessed with this place. Kabobs are all so incredibly flavorful without being overpowering, they are moist and cooked to perfection. I've had the lunch buffet and there was not one thing I did not like. Cranberry rice was phenomenal, kabobs are perfect- even just the basic , tabouli on point, hummus- oh god lets not even start on the hummus. Seasoned well, creamy without being runny, garlicky, pairs really well with the pita. This joint is the real deal people. Food is great, people are friendly and it's CHEAP. I have already come back several times and can't wait to go more. There was also some interesting hookah seating in the front which I didn't partake in but looks fun. Five stars! Let me first start off by saying that the food here is outstanding! I'd give it a solid 5 star rating if not for the remainder of this review. This place is usually very empty, so the slow service is tolerable for the great food that we always get. However, the last few times we've been there, there has been a new server each time. They are constantly being told what to do from the older woman who seems to run the front. It is impossible to get drink refills, your check and anything else that the waitress may have missed the last time she was at the table. The last time I was there, I watched two tables get seated after us get top notch service as the old woman was constantly sending the waitress to their table to make sure they were well taken care of. I can't explain why this was the case, but I certainly started to feel like I was a 2nd class customer here, if you get my drift. I think next time I will only order the food take out and I'll call about an hour ahead. Good luck, the food is super good, the place is being upgraded so it doesn't get condemned, but the service is what really sucks and however badly you want to blame your server, it is probably not her fault. read more

This Persian restaurant located in Marietta on Roswell Street is not so hot. I drove about 45 minutes to come here on a friend's recommendation, and I have to say..it was not worth the drive! I came here for the lunch buffet and they had a good variety of Persian dishes to choose from such as koobideh kababs. The koobideh kababs were kind of hard to swallow, mainly because they were very chewy and hard. All I have to say is that I will probably try this place out once more to try something other than the buffet. I would much rather go to 1001 Nights Persian Cuisine, which is closer to my house and has much better food. I am not impressed :( read more

The hummus appetizer was good, though this is the first time I had hummus outlast the pita bread. As for the entrees, I had a gyro which came with a bag of chips. AVOID Mediterranean Shish Kabob on Lower Roswell Road in Marietta!!! They used to be located near the Big Chicken and when they were there, the food and service were good and the price was $12.95 for the buffet. About 6 months ago, they moved to the new location behind Bruster's on Lower Roswell just off South Marietta Parkway. The restaurant itself is much better, but the rest of it, not so much. They had far fewer selections on the buffet (notably the tenderloin, kashk-e-bademjoon, and desserts were no longer offered). The food is still good, but the variety was seriously lacking. The service was non-existent. I went in, seated myself, waited 10 minutes, then got up and helped myself to the buffet without seeing a server at all. Several servers walked past me as I was eating without asking if I needed anything or offering to get me a glass of water. Then when I finished, I had to wait another 10 minutes for someone to come out of the back, and I had to TELL him I was ready to pay although I was standing right at the cash register and he walked past me twice and would have walked past a third time had I not TOLD him I needed to pay. He did not ask me how the food nor service were, just told me it would be.... (GASP) $21.95 for ONE buffet!
