The food was sublime. I ordered the Lamb Tikka, my husband, the vegetarian pizza, our friend ordered chicken and beef kabob, hummus, and flatbread for the table. Everything was packed with delicious flavor, perfectly seasoned and tender. We also partook of the hookah, always a great experience, the attendant was circulating constantly with fresh coals and emptying the ashes. I love the atmosphere here, many groups playing cards, backgammon, or just having a great time relaxing and socializing, they are not in the business of pushing you out to free tables, you can stay as long as you like. They serve till 1am on weekdays. They start closing their kitchen things at like 10:30 pm. (I ordered at 10:45 in case you're wondering) Some of the food I got was plain cold. Not hot. Not warm. COLD. When I pointed it out I was asked if I wanted it heated up... No... if I wanted to heat up food I would've bought frozen food and done that at home. I came here for FRESH food or for food I ignorantly believe is fresh. The other bone I have to pick with this place is that my hookah came out w/o coals. The coals cane out circa 15-20 mins later. Both above things I'm attributing partially to service. The server COULD have chosen to heat up my icy cold food prior to bringing it to the table and COULD have brought coals out sooner. Honestly don't think the kitchen should be closing so early, and if they do, they shouldn't be offering their entire menu so late. This place is DELICIOUS! Everything is fresh, made in house and you can tell! The Fattoush salad is great, the dressing is tangy and a little sweet with perfectly fried pita chips to add crunch. Chicken Shawarma sandwich is so good, it's seasoned perfectly and they use the garlic aïoli in it too. Our server Jacob was so great, he explained everything and was very attentive. This used to be my favorite place that i go there three times weekly. As always going in with my Coffee late which they don't serve, sitting in a table party of three waiting for my friends, i was asked politely to drink the coffee outside and then come back or throw it away. i went to the manager and he told me i know you well but this is the owner instructions, i couldn't understand this; they lost someone regular making me leave; a table for three that normally spend above 100$ daily. Many people go to just chill with a hookah and do homework, or drink a dr. pepper and watch some sports with a hookah. They have heaters if it gets too cold, personable staff and the ability to make it warmer and close down the tarps around outside for expanded room if main room overflows with people. Try the fries on the menu, just the smell made me want to get some. I also enjoy the fact that they have red bull. No alcohol type of drinks, but that didn't deter me from going. They nail it, and not just a mini side called garlic aioli, this is the real deal. Can be put on anything and when it is this good, even just eaten with a spoon. Get the dip sampler platter and yes you have gone to heaven when you have Jajeek. I am not a huge hummus fan, but their's is so tahini delicious and not that rotten sesame flavor, it is the one you want it to be. I am in love. Praise be to the labneh and baba ghanouj that comes out of this kitchen. I have only ordered Uber Eats due to covid, I can't wait to get my taste buds on their falafel live! Went here the other day when our usual hookah place was closed for the holiday and I was pleasantly surprised. I got the dry lemon tea and a hookah with a rose, lemon, and mint mix. The tea was different but I loved it. It is definitely a different taste so be sure you like strong citrus flavors in your tea before trying. The hookah was good but it did get harsh after a little bit. That happens but I've been to other places that are better about preventing that so it was a slight let down. The atmosphere was so nice, just a casual hangout place for anyone to get good food and have great conversation. Specially when you see them cook your food on the grill with real charcoal and not just regular gas flame. (That's what gives it the good taste). Decent prizes considering the competition of food choices in the San Antonio area.
