I love Shisha cafe!! The food has always been up to par and is by far one of my favorite spots for great Middle Eastern food. I suggest you try their hummus, kebabs, and their shawarma. Those are my favorite three things here. I've tried the Lamb chops and they are great as well. The owner himself has made my hookah on multiple occasions and it's always been great! The servers are supper attentive - specifically Reem, Hayla, Mohammad and Hannan have been awesome every time I've had them as servers. Highly recommend this spot!! read more

A week ago (Jan 2016), we were served a drink that carries an expiration date from 2014. The response of the management was so rude that "it won't harm you coz you are Iraqis". No body. The management also claimed that they solved the problem and disposed all the expired drinks they have. Two days later they served the same expired drink to us. This little gem earned five full stars from me. At first, I was not interested in going since it had Hookah Bar in it's name. It was for lunch at work and I didn't want to come back smelling like smoke. However, this was not a problem at all - the only smokers there were seated outside on the patio and the inside didn't smell like smoke AT ALL! I think smoking may only be allowed outside, but I am not sure. The staff were superb and so was the food. I had the Chicken Tikka Plate which consisted of two skewers of grilled chicken lightly spiced and served with garlic sauce and pickles. Don't let the Hookah in the name of the place scare you off - you want to go to there! :) read more

I've been going to Shisha Cafe for a few years now. The food quality is always the same, very very good. They don't really skimp on quality here. Sometimes the kitchen can be slow if it's VERY busy (the kitchen is shared by their sister restaurant), but if you have a hookah, you'll be fine. Just relax, enjoy the hookah and the food will make it out. The hookah is good, the staff is extremely knowledgeable and puts a lot of time and effort into their craft. Overall, It's worth the visit. With more and more hookah lounges popping up, its nice to have a stable long running lounge that holds to traditional values and experiences instead of joining the hype. No disco balls and bright lights, just a good relaxing environment. Bring a deck of cards or a board game (sometimes I bring my homework) and relax for the evening read more

Best food ever. I live two hours away and anytime I go up to San Antonio, I have to get food from here to take back home. I've lived overseas and their bread tastes just like it does from the kitchens of the Middle East.... Their kofta and chicken kebabs are delicious ...their biryani rice is sooo good---and for the lamb chop lovers (my friends)---they have the largest chips I've seen any restaurant serve. We went here on the recommendation of a coworker for lunch yesterday. It was nice so we decided to sit in the open air part of the restaurant (covered patio I guess). The chairs are uncomfortable metal and the tables were metal too. We ordered an appetizer of the hummus, it was delicious and came with a HUGE pita to dip in it. You get a generous portion with olive oil and spices on top. We both ordered kebobs, I got the lamb and beef, my coworker had chicken. He got rice as a side and it looked good, I got the salad and was sort of surprised it didn't seem to have dressing on it, but did have TONS of tomatoes and cucumbers that I don't like and they were impossible to pick out. My kebobs were a bit tough, but spiced well and tasty. Be aware this is primarily a hookah bar and they allow smoking on the patio so if you don't like the smell of that you may not be too happy. I wouldn't really recommend this place for date night or anything like that but if you need a quick bite it is pretty good. read more

I've been coming here since I wasn't even old enough with my parents. Every time I'm in San Antonio I love coming here and is a must for me to do so. The service is fast and efficient, great for hanging out with friends very chill spot. The hookah is really good and this is the only place I've actually tried making O's and it worked. The hookah didn't get harsh at all and they came and changed the coals a few times to make sure. The food here is delicious the shawarma is so good and a favorite of mine the chicken skewers are really good too and all the food is very well seasoned and tastes delicious. The service here is really good but I wish they were a little faster but reasonable since there were so many people and few servers. Will come back soon read more

I give them 2 stars because the presentation and the atmosphere was good. But the food was mediocre at best. The fatoush salad was swimming in 2" of what tasted like bottle dressing with some lemon. The mixed Kabab was okay, the garlic Toum was straight up mayonnaise . The one waitress screamed across the restaurant to another waitress that she needed a lawyer because she is getting a divorce. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated with some stunning art work. Now if they could match the flavor of the foods and presentation To the decor that would define Lett be 5 stars. It's been 3 years since I've been here. I have to say yet again...still wonderful. Our server was super nice. I didn't catch her name. She had an accent. We a super late dinner. My husband and I shared a gyro plate with a salad. Thanks to all the wonderful reviews of the garlic sauce. Ao we ordered one. That was soooooooo good!!! Talk about mouth heaven!!!! I had some Iraqi tea. It was great. My husband had a mocha but later joined me with the tea since I ordered a small pot. Which was just perfect for the 2 of us. The bread went well with the delicious garlic sauce. I would go back just to have more. We tried the sour apple with ice on the hookah. It was not bad. Not much for the hookah but I love the smells. It's like a big incense party. Smells way better than the common cigarette. I love their hours. Until 2am Sunday - Thursday. And until 4 am Fridays -Saturdays. Another hidden gem in our fair city! I had a fantastic lunch here today thanks to a tip from Danny C, and I will most certainly be back! I arrived just as they were opening (and lunch is only a recent addition for them) and the restaurant was empty. I was given a choice of inside or out, but the waiter suggested I sit on the patio and enjoy the beautiful 90* Texas Fall day. The patio is breezy and shaded. A fountain bubbles away in the background and you can opt for the deck or the stone, but both are equally pleasant. While I was in, country music filled the air, but I'll admit, I was sort of hoping for a more traditional musical selection, though it was fun to sing along and tap my foot regardless. I tasted a few things off the menu, and I almost decided to go back for dinner. Flavorful. Delicious. My mouth is watering again... This is a great hookah and hang out spot. Really good selection of flavors, attentive and welcoming staff and great food. I came here late night and saw people playing online games, dominoes and cards. Music wasn't over loud as it is at lots of hookah spots and coals were replaced as needed. I have been coming to shisha cafe for years now and have never been disappointed. Always loved their food, their service wasn't that great but the food made up for it. Today I ordered food to go and I was disappointed to say the least..... it was so nasty I couldn't even finish it. There was more fat than beef in the shawarma!! And it tasted like it was drowned in cinnamon. The fries were so soggy it tasted like someone just popped them in the microwave. Weve been very happy with the food here at Sisha. It flavorful, tasty and no doubt delicious! Their grilled chicken with biryani is the best. I would always give it a 5/5 review. But today, is one of those days Shisha did not meet my expectations. We ordered grilled chicken and not "cremated" chicken. Its still delicious dont get me wrong, but its so hard, dry and since most of it was reduced to total hardness we were able to eat just 20%of it. Literally none of the remaining is palatable. But i love my sisha so im still hopeful that next time they maintain the quality of food they serve. The grilled chicken should be grilled, NOT cremated and hard. Will still go back and give Sisha a second chance. read more
