This is a great hookah and hang out spot. Really good selection of flavors, attentive and welcoming staff and great food. I came here late night and saw people playing online games, dominoes and cards. Music wasn't over loud as it is at lots of hookah spots and coals were replaced as needed. Weve been very happy with the food here at Sisha. It flavorful, tasty and no doubt delicious! Their grilled chicken with biryani is the best. I would always give it a 5/5 review. But today, is one of those days Shisha did not meet my expectations. We ordered grilled chicken and not "cremated" chicken. Its still delicious dont get me wrong, but its so hard, dry and since most of it was reduced to total hardness we were able to eat just 20%of it. Literally none of the remaining is palatable. But i love my sisha so im still hopeful that next time they maintain the quality of food they serve. The grilled chicken should be grilled, NOT cremated and hard. Such a cool place! Shisha cafe has delicious authentic middle eastern food and a wide variety of hookah flavors all served up in a laid back environment. I love to go here and just chill out on their patio on a nice evening. Try a kebab dinner and then share some smoke with your buddies. My favorite flavored tobacco is orange or orange and mint together. Ask them to put ice in the hookah water - then the smoke is really cool when you inhale. It's a neat trick. read more

Their food is delicious, some of the best I have had in San Antonio. I love the shawarma or chicken wraps. Shisha has a very lively and fun environment! Great music and a television with arabic music videos or sports. Great hookah and good selection of flavors! I love their outdoor patio. The service is lacking on busier nights and takes quite a lot of arm-flailing to get a waiter to notice your table. Went here with a couple of friends on a Saturday evening. Surprisingly it wasn't that busy. They offer a variety of Mediterranean food which is decently priced not too pricey. The food was decent, I enjoyed their appetizers, especially their hummus. As for their hookah, I liked the fact that they had a large variety of flavored to choose from, whether you like fruity like myself, I recommend the pirates cave with mint which tastes marvelous! We had gotten the two flavors mixed which tend to be for 2-3 people, in my case it was just two of us. They have the option of putting Apple and pineapple to also which was great! One of my remakes is that our waitress didn't provide very good customer service, she kept saying she had to leave to feed her baby...and kept hurrying us up when we were wanting to order food items. She wasn't very attentive, towards the end of our visit when wanting the check, we waited around for a while until she finally appeared and then we had to get up and call her attention to us. The location is pretty nice, they have outdoor seating and indoor seating, with small water fountains and fans for the outdoors. Overall, the place is decent to have some hookah with some friends and relax, but customer service wasn't all that great for my first visit here. read more

The most disaster there when they take advantage of customers there is a girl called. Delila if don't give her a tip more than 2$ she'll charge you more than 5$ in your bill. This place is really really cool on evenings when the weather is nice. On chillier nights, the heaters come on and the atmosphere is still really cool. The selection of tobacco and price for a hookah rental is decent. The guys working the coals are always on top of their game. The peach tea is my favorite drink here. 1 sip and here comes diabetes. My younger sister loves this place. She recommended their boba tea for when I babysit on this side of town. I had such high expectations for it. I ordered a Green Tea Boba Tea. I paid $4.32. The wait staff seems nice. I feel I wasn't dressed for the atmosphere though. No tapicoa pearls were availble when I went in, they offered me strawberry or blueberry pearls - which was a nice change of pace. It took a about 10 minutes to get my order out - again it was ok because I needed to use their rr. When it came out, it was super runny, like regular milk. Maybe they don't blend it with ice? I couldn't taste the green tea at all. It didnt have a lot of strawberry pearls. Maybe 10? And they were in the middle, rather than the bottom, not fun. I wouldn't come back for the boba. I don't typically give five stars to a restaurant, especially not one where I am not familiar with the type of food they serve. My wife and I had lunch at this location on a referral from a work friend. We went at an odd time so the restaurant was fairly empty. From the moment we entered we were welcomed by the staff and were seated quickly. The atmosphere is very updated, bright and comfortable. Gloria was our waitress and she was nothing short of fantastic. She kept an eye on our table and we did not have to ask for anything as she was on her game. She was very informative on the dishes we inquired about and was able to make some good recommendations. We had the Lamb Gyro, and the charcoal grilled chicken, which both were delicious. The the tea was fresh and everything was clean and in order. I met with the Chef and the Owners upon leaving to let them know how please we were with the experience, both of whom were very receptive and appreciative. Highly recommend this location. Really enjoyed their hummus and gyro plate! The salad is nothing to write home about, the rice even less. But the meat is solid! The pita bread and hummus is also very delicious. I'm more 3.5 but chose 4 stars just because the meat is flavorful and a large portion. Very yummy. I've only ordered food to go and have also used a third party delivery option, so I've never actually ate in-restaurant. So I can't really speak to service outside ordering and picking up or the hookah bar. Solid food! read more

Got 2 lunch specials today. I haven't been here in years, and was really looking forward to it. My wife got the chicken shawarma with a series, and I got a lamb tikka sandwich with a peach tea. We got fries for our daughter and too it to go. Greatly disappointed. My wife's chicken didn't look cooked, my lamb was cold and gristly, and our Pitts were stale and falling apart. The fries were all soggy. The peach tea tasted like artificially flavored peach soda that was flat with a hint of tea added. The only good item we got was the can of sprite. Terrible experience. I ate 1/2 my sandwich bc I was starving. Everything else but the sprite went in the trash untouched. Won't be back anytime soon for sure! read more

My best friend and I spent a wonderful couple of hours at Shisha Cafe during our Girls' Day Out in San Antonio recently. The place was completely empty, which I expected for 1:30 on a Thursday afternoon, and service was exceptional. We sat outside on the patio so we could smoke, and, although it was in the upper-90s out, there were plenty of fans and it was not uncomfortable at all. I had the chicken schawerma sandwich, and she had the gyro sandwich. Both were excellent. We mixd pomegranate, vanilla, and mint shisha and enjoyed it very much. Overall, a great experience. A few odds-and-ends: 1) I love their hours. Most shisha places only open in the evening, and sometimes you just want an afternoon at the cafe. 2) I love their menu--it's authentic. I had the best Turkish coffee that I've had since I was in Turkey. 3) This might sound a little odd, but...the shishas themselves are sturdy, which I like. They give you solid plastic mouthpieces, not those flimsy little pieces of junk that fall out if you look at them the wrong way. read more

I've been going to Shisha for years. The addition of a patio in the last year ish has been nice. No more sitting on wobbly chairs out on a dirt patch! The food is good, cheap and fast. They are open late for the after club crowd. They do not serve booze. I recommend the falafel sandwich or plate. Their falafel are some of the best around. The chicken shawarma is also good both in plate or sandwich form. They put a slice of dill pickle in the sandwich. It's a nice surprise that compliments the sandwiches nicely. My only complaint is that I find the kebab to be dry. Ask for a side of the delicious creamy garlic sauce and dip everything in it! The hummus is also a winner and their hot tea is brewed perfectly. The 4 star rating comes from the fact that it can get a little crowded and the tables do not turn over quickly because people tend to linger and chit chat. The fact that it was in a huge square, if you don't know where you're going because you're not familiar with the area, made it harder to spot. Tea, drinks, Hookah, shwarma =D~ all reasons why I hung around. Great service, bigger staff than a lot of small cafes: probably due to having to manage hookahs as well as food. What we did was get a hookah for the outdoor area. So we would smoke out on the lawn. It gets REALLY PACKED on the weekends. It's ridiculous but you will always have a table. I don't remember having to wait to be seated or have to wait long, at least. I always had a good experience there. the shwarma is divine. Turkish coffee is delicious and I believe they had rose shisha, might be wrong but rose shisha rocks. Jasmine was another one I usually ordered there or strawberry: always a crowd pleaser. Moderate pricing, casual atmosphere, good for lounging around with friends or meeting new friends: I randomly ran into a lot of friends from Houston there. It was great! Definitely a late night hot spot, especially for those who aren't into going to clubs or bars: this is probably THE best alternative since in San Antonio most of the night life are bars. read more

I too have been a Shisha customer since it was small with a grassy outside seating area. Since then they've expanded into the next unit with a much larger seating area inside and out, a larger kitchen, a great wood deck and a peaceful fountain which really brings the outside area together. The staff and service are great and some of the employees have been there for quite a while. Of course there are new faces here and there but everyone who serves you will put a smile on your face and are very friendly, talkative and attentive. If you're hungry (or even if you're not) try the beef or chicken shwarma with a side of french fries. You won't regret it. I haven't tried much more than this on the menu because these are just too good to not order but I've heard mostly everything is great. Oh yea, and the hummus with chicken is a great appetizer with freshly baked pita bread. I'm a regular here for a reason. If you're into authentic Mediterranean food and atmosphere, Shisha Cafe is most definitely the place to go. They're open til 2AM everyday during the week and til 4AM on weekends. It's the perfect place to hang out, study, meet up with friends or have dinner. Very chill and relaxing. I've tried some of the other lounges here in town but am glad I found Shisha Cafe. Great place to hangout, they have a huge outside patio, half of it was covered up during winter to protect against the rain and wind. There is a small inside area for those that doesn't want to sit outside. They have a good selection of food, drinks (non-alcholic) and smoothies, we ordered mango and Pina Colada smoothies, both are delicious The selection of smokes are amazing, really enjoyed our Power Bull, Honey and Kiwi Strawberry mix. The best tasting items were the garlic sauce & chicken in the very small Mediterranean salad. The lamb tikka was a small platter w a few chunks of unseasoned lamb. Fafeal is similar to what I get at the grocery store, the baklava was not sweet & more buttery than necessary. Costco would be a better choice for baklava. My go-to place for over ten years for both hookah and delicious Lebanese food. When I first visited, it was a tiny cafe that offered $3.99 hookahs while I studied (I was a college student at that time). Now it's grown and has a great patio. It's often noisy and bustling, but it's very comforting. Big tables of men playing dominoes next to tables of hipsters and people that just left a bar and even families. The only downside is that they only serve bottled water (no tap water...boo!), but that's not a huge deal. Don't be afraid to experiment with the hookah flavors. Be adventurous! The best Beef Tikka I've had in town. I've been twice and both times the food was excellent and the wait staff wonderful. The owner, who was just as handlsome as he was debonair, even gave us a discount as it was my husband's first time and my second. The food here is outstanding, but the management really has made my family think twice about returning anytime soon. We came 2 weeks ago on a Friday night. The restaraunt was near empty - 3 tables occupied. After placing our orders we waited...and waited...and waited some more - but sat there only with drinks (which seemed odd). After a while we noticed while we had waited, that the place had completely filled up. My wife had also noticed many tables being servered ahead of us. We continue to wait for more than an hour, and asked the waitress several times what was the delay. She kept giving us answers that didn't make sense, and we later deduced that management had instructed her to only give a vague explanation for the delay. Eventually we were able to learn what was going on. It was the Hajj. Customer's were all pouring in at the same time, an hour before sunset, in hopes of being served before their "fast" started. The gall of the owners to serve all those tables ahead of us, without even telling us what the situation was. Honestly we'd have been understanding, but the lack of any communication instead left us extremely annoyed after a 80 minute wait for dinner. Didn't we deserve an early explanation, so we could have considered another restaraunt that night - apparently that never occurred to the owners. We didn't even get bread for much of that time, and the severs were so busy running around helping the latecomers, that getting water and tea refills was even a challenge. We will probably return to this establishment because the food and service are usually excellent, but very disappointing how the management chose to handle this holiday situation. read more
