stopped by Shiso Crispy tonight between 12:00-12:36 AM at 226 First Ave N in St. Petersburg and had a very disappointing experience. I was helped by an employee named Haden -- tall with brown hair and a mullet. While I was there, he noticed me taking my medication and mentioned he was also medicated. He then asked if he could partake. I made the mistake of saying yes and handed him the device that dispenses my medication. He used it and then refused to return it. When I asked for it back, he denied having it and became rude and dismissive. At one point he reached toward the tip jar and offered me $20, all while speaking disrespectfully about the situation in front of other customers. It was extremely uncomfortable and unprofessional. As a business owner myself, this behavior was shocking. Taking someone's personal property and then denying it is theft, plain and simple. I cannot believe an employee would act this way toward a customer. I would be very concerned about having someone like this handling money or representing my business

Low bar food quality where rice portion out weights trying to make something taste good. Disappointed, but I also should have known better.

Food is very overpriced for what it is. Chicken nuggets drenched in sauce over stale rice shouldn't cost $20.

The papaya salad was different but had a lot of good flavor. The fried rice was delicious with a curry flavor to it! The Tao dumpling soup was super yummy! Would definitely recommend to a friend and can't wait to come back!

We arrived around 10:15 p.m. on a Friday night, with the restaurant closing at 11:00 p.m. Maybe that contributed to our experience, although several other parties were seated after us, so we weren't the last customers of the evening. We ordered quickly since we already knew what we wanted. My partner ordered the special, I ordered the ramen, and we shared the fried shrimp dumplings as an appetizer. Our server was friendly and attentive, though it was clear the staff was beginning to transition into closing mode. Unfortunately, that affected the atmosphere. While we were still eating, employees were spraying tables and mopping nearby. The smell of cleaning chemicals mixed with our food, which made the dining experience less enjoyable. When my ramen arrived, it looked more like a wonton soup or pho than the ramen I was expecting. I didn't question it because I assumed it might be their interpretation of the dish. However, the broth was quite bland, and the vegetables were still somewhat undercooked. The chicken had no seasoning, it tasted like it was boiled within the broth. After a few bites and sips, I decided not to finish it. My partner seemed to enjoy his meal, though he tends to be pretty easygoing when it comes to food. I didn't try his dish since it was very spicy and that's not really my thing. The restaurant is in a great location on Central Avenue, which makes it a fun area to walk around and people-watch. However, with most dishes priced around $20, I expected a better overall experience and higher quality food. Unfortunately, this isn't a place I would return to.

When I say it was the most mind blowing delicious Pad Thai experience I've ever had in my life-I'm not exaggerating. I have previously had the burrito at lunch. Portions are huge and it is delicious. This was my first time going for dinner, I am now an addict, and will be back over. Prices are fair given the portions. The quality is out of this world.

Hmm. This place sounded like a really exciting and fun spot to try. While they do have both Mexican…read moreand Thai, they have a slimmer group of items that fuse the two. The appetizer was disappointing. The naan bread was more like dry store bought pita bread. The mole curry, similar to what they add to the other dishes we tried. It didn't really saturate the dry pits bread well and even though trying to enjoy it, a large bowl of liquid remained. After a bit it felt a bit mundane, which is kind of crazy to say for two powerhouses: mole and Penang curry. I tried the mole Penang curry and pad Thai. The flavors surprisingly work, and I have to say it's a first for me in terms of combo, but it felt like the refinement of both cuisines were bolted on without much finesse. The sever was friendly, but the food took forever to come out. It also took us a little longer to get seated (no resy). Minus two stars really for the fusion that is missing just a little refinement and the slowness of kitchen. The appetizer that we got needs to be upgraded, really no excuse for what it sounded liken vs what came out. On the positive side, they had a small free parking lot. I enjoyed two different herbal ice teas and they had a nice decor. I'd go again on an invite, but not sure I'd re initiate one here. It's unique for sure, but it was definitely missing something.

First of all, we need to talk about this recent remodel. It looks absolutely amazing. I walked in and immediately felt like I should be starring in a sleek, architectural lifestyle magazine. It's gorgeous, modern, and somehow makes you feel way more sophisticated than you actually are while you're mentally preparing to unbutton your jeans for course number three. I did my research before coming and ordered what the internet mob furiously demanded: the undisputed fan favorites. The reviews were screaming about the appetizers, so obviously, I got the Mực Lăn Bột (Calamari) and the Há Cảo (Sesame Chicken Pot Stickers). They vanished from the table so fast I'm pretty sure I inhaled them like a vacuum cleaner. For the main event, the crowd-favorite beef and rice was a mandatory order. I went with the Bò Lúc Lắc (Sizzling Filet Mignon), and let me tell you, this beef is so impossibly tender and flavorful, it could probably negotiate world peace. I also couldn't resist the Bún Chả Hà Nội, famously highlighted by Anthony Bourdain. The pork belly and pork patty combo swimming in that dipping broth practically brought a tear to my eye. To finish it off, I sucked down a La V Signature Milk Tea with boba like it was the literal elixir of life. The new aesthetic is stunning, the vibe is perfect, and the food will ruin you for all other restaurants. Go immediately. Just maybe wear sweatpants.

Even the cart on the street could do better work than a fancy one. So, walking into PIN Wok & Bowl I thought it would be worth the try. It could not be a bad choice. And it was not. It was authentic in many ways. Walking in we sat down and the gentleman came over with the menu and water. We took a lok and could not decide. It all sounded great. We knew we needed to have some dumplings to start. After that it was a touch choice. I was not decided so I asked what he would recommend if he had to decide. He told me he would get the RAINBOW BOWL. That was one of my choices. Placing the order we waited. And not for long. Out came the STEAMED PORK DUMPLING. It was well packed and had the correct dipping sauce. With my sticks in hand I picked one up, gave it a dip and tried. It was ideal. Think and rich. Well seasoned. Slightly warm and moist. It was perfect and just enough to give you a taste of what is ahead. And that did not take long. Up next we had the order. First was the RAINBOW POKE BOWL. This was a combination of tuna, salmon, cucumber slices, shredded carrot and red cabbage, a good portion of edamame, flakes of scallion, tobiko with kinchi sauce and a touch of sesame seed spicy mayo. It was wonderful. We also had Unagi Bowl, which is not easy to find. This was combination of BBQ eel, tamago, crab, shredded red cabbage, edamame, masago, with eel sauce sesame seed and scallion. Very traditional. And, as with the Rainbow bowl, the fish was very fresh. There was no problem eating it. It was a great meal, and at a great price. The team were perfect. And it does get a crowd of local people. Just as you would find if you were in. Thailand, Vietnam or in Japan. That is what is special. It is a combination itself with the food from the region which was always a mix of various meals that are combined and seasoned as one. It was like being living back in that area of the world. I already have an idea of what I will get next time I go. And, if I didn't I would just as one of the people there. They would recommend what they might order for themselves that day. As they say in Thailand: Khopkhun.

The only somewhat decent dish was the ahi tuna dirty rice, but the protein-to-rice ratio was questionable, especially when a dirty rice plate already costs $9. The truffle gyoza (5 pieces) somehow arrived burnt on one side across every piece and were only mildly warm when served. Service was average overall. The indoor seating is nice, and being located in the heart of St. Pete gives the restaurant a great atmosphere. Unfortunately, the food did not live up to the setting or the prices.
