Small Oxtail with rice & beans
Hannah V.

First time coming to this location after the restaurant change up. The food did not disappoint. Everything we got was delicious! The ox tail and rice, I wish I had a full bowl full of it. It was my first time trying this dish and would totally get it again. The beef patty was warm and flaky though I wished it had a bit more filling. The food came out quick and they did take cards even though the signs said cash or cash app. The ordering process could be improved upon instead of using sticky notes. There is limited seating in the front so you can go back to the lounge to eat. Back there, there is a bar and seating more for conversation rather than eating. Chicken Wing Review: The flavor of these wings were next level. Every bite was so flavorful and tender. These wings seemed like they were stewed in the seasonings as they fell apart as you ate them as a good cooked rib would. The only fault to this way of cooking is you miss the crispy, crunchy skin and instead are left with an almost gummy like skin.

This is a brand new restaurant that has been attached to the Lounge. Since the lounge is well established, this new Restaurant has an abundance of customers. I believe I was told that today is their second day in business. Once they get over the new business teething problems I think Sid's Caribbean Grill will be a fine addition to St Petersburg cuisine. The food is spectacular. I ordered the large curry shrimp ($18.50). The dish has shrimp, yellow rice, cabbage, beans, and what appears to be a corn fritter. Definitely worth 5 stars...BUT: the takeout packaging used is too flimsy for the amount of food they give you! They definitely need to upgrade the takeout containers to reflect the price of their dishes. I think the present containers might be ok for some of the smaller dishes, but for the large meals they definitely need something more substantial. They also have to get a system in place to offer receipts to those who ask for it. I insisted on one and got a handwritten post-it note. Since they just opened I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. I'll come back in a month or so and we'll see if they can't get that 5th star.

Large jerk chicken

We stopped by Sid's today for lunch. We used to enjoy their old location on Central Ave, so we knew what to expect. The next location is in the old Chiefs Creole spot on the corner of 22nd. We ordered jerk chicken and curry chicken to go. The food came up quickly. They are only accepting cash or cash app currently. We paid and were on our way. We dove in once we got home. Both the curry and the jerk chicken were just as good as they have always been. The jerk had some nice heat that was enjoyable. The rice, cabbage, and fry bread were perfect sides. As usual, we enjoyed our meal and will definitely be back. Just as good as it used to be.

I don't eat burgers often, although I love them, so when I do it's gotta be good…read more We went to Engine No 9 for the 4th of July, and it was outstanding! We arrived at 5:30 and it was packed, but a table opened for us within two minutes. The ambiance was awesome, with each table having its own miniTV! Guests didn't have to choose between watching Wimbledon or the World Cup (or anything else they chose). Such a clever idea and probably great for entertaining kids, too. The server was prompt and friendly, and we got our drinks and app ordered immediately. We split the corn dog as an appetizer (felt right for 4th of July), and my husband declared it was one of the best he ever had. A great ratio of the sweet fried dough and salty hot dog. Definitely a reasonable portion to split as an appetizer and still have room for an entree. We got the tomato and corn salad as a side, which was a nice palate cleanser. I got the bacon cheeseburger (sub a pretzel bun, which you can absolutely do) and my husband got the Van Helsing. Both were excellent. He got regular fries and I got sweet potato fries and a side salad, also fantastic. My meal was exactly what I wanted - a classically delicious cheeseburger (I removed the bacon and put it on my side salad, which I highly recommend). My husband's had perfectly cooked garlic cloves and a nice zest with the jalapeños. They also had a great tap list to go wash everything down! We left stuffed but not feeling like we were going to die. It was a wonderful experience for start to finish and we'll be back!

I got the crispy duck wings (and do not know why I didn't take a picture ) but they were very crispy and very good. They came with 2 sauces, which I did not try because they said they were a bit spicy and I don't like spicy, but they were plenty good on their own. I ordered the One Bad Pig with a side of sweet potato fries and of course had to get an extra side of tator tots because I love them. The burger was very good and juice, hard to eat because it's so big, but I managed to do it. The tots were crispy just like I like them and the fries were your typical sweet potato fries but very good. The service was attentive and good and it seemed to be a local crowd and was a nice vibe. It is off the beaten path so not too touristy but the locals know about it so it gets crowded. I highly recommend this place for a burger if you are wanting one!!

The first time we were so excited to go and try what looked like they would be out of this world smash burgers... MANNNNNNNNNN they did not disappoint! Hence why we've returned time and time again. The burgers are so perfectly smashed, they're bigger than the bun so you get all that extra crunchy goodness around the edges. The flavor of the sauce is amazing and compliments perfectly. Not only that, but they have great fries! I always get the loaded fries which come with their caramelized onions and cheese sauce. Cue the droolingggg. It's hit or miss if there is going to be a long line but somehow my wife and I have always gotten lucky to get there juuust before everyone else. Service is always very friendly and efficient. As for ambiance, they can't really account for that since they are a food truck but Common Dialect has plenty of seating if you want to stay, have a beer, and eat your food. Now, I cannot wait to try their tacos! Fingers crossed they make it to Tampa sometime soon!

Feeling hungrier, I wanted something with more protein so I got the burger. TRUST-- this is not a basic burger. It had a little aioli on the top and then some sort of marmalade on the bottom that brought this burger to the next level. I ate every single last bite. I am allergic to truffle so I could not partake but the regular fries were enjoyable. My partner ordered the steak and truffle fries.

Well-versed on the menu and a very pleasant lady. It's certainly not a fancy place and it looks like it's been around for a while, but it's the kind of place where you might like to hang out at the bar. Everyone there seems to be friendly and you get that comfortable feeling. We had a variety of food items, some better than others but nothing below average. Really good salads, as you can see by the pictures, a nice job on the chicken wings, a BLT that was pretty tasty; the butternut squash soup was OK, pretty thick and not hot at all. One was returned to the kitchen to be heated up. There was a chicken dip that really didn't hit the spot, and the tortilla chips that came with it seem to be past their prime. As for the fried mushrooms. I found them pretty much ordinary. A nice surprise were the brussels sprouts with balsamic and goat cheese. Really really good. Overall, I would give the food about a 3 1/2 stars at the service five stars so what averages out around four stars. Like I said it looks like a nice place to hang around and have a couple of beverages and a little something to eat.
