Hmm. This place sounded like a really exciting and fun spot to try. While they do have both Mexican and Thai, they have a slimmer group of items that fuse the two. The appetizer was disappointing. The naan bread was more like dry store bought pita bread. The mole curry, similar to what they add to the other dishes we tried. It didn't really saturate the dry pits bread well and even though trying to enjoy it, a large bowl of liquid remained. After a bit it felt a bit mundane, which is kind of crazy to say for two powerhouses: mole and Penang curry. I tried the mole Penang curry and pad Thai. The flavors surprisingly work, and I have to say it's a first for me in terms of combo, but it felt like the refinement of both cuisines were bolted on without much finesse. The sever was friendly, but the food took forever to come out. It also took us a little longer to get seated (no resy). Minus two stars really for the fusion that is missing just a little refinement and the slowness of kitchen. The appetizer that we got needs to be upgraded, really no excuse for what it sounded liken vs what came out. On the positive side, they had a small free parking lot. I enjoyed two different herbal ice teas and they had a nice decor. I'd go again on an invite, but not sure I'd re initiate one here. I've been here on two occasions now. The menu is quite extensive, so it can be a bit overwhelming at first. The appetizers are my favorite part--the naan bread with red curry dipping sauce, Mexican corn, and Mexican sushi were all excellent choices. I also enjoyed the burritos and pad Thai. This place has been on my list forever! I checked out on a Friday night with no reservation and was sat instantly. Opted for the outdoor back patio seating, they also offer outdoor seating infront of the restaurant. An array of chairs and tables were outside a decent distance away from each other. Water is served with a carafe allowing you to refill when needed. The menu was expansive and a little confusing when it came to the burritos/tacos. I opted for the yellow curry burrito with veggies which were seasonal but included zucchini, squash, peas and carrots. There was also jasmine rice inside. When choosing the veggie option the server kindly asked if I would like the meal to be vegetarian, removing the fish sauce. When it arrived there was a vegan skewer in the meal which is always appreciated. The burritos were filling and yummy, I had a whole burrito to bring home! My partner got the pad Thai with shrimp. The shrimp still had the tails which required pulling the tail off with his fingers as he ate. The scallions were about 2-3 inches long which was a little awkward. One thing I really appreciated was that they can customize the spice level to your liking. I prefer my food on the spicier side, while my friends like things a bit milder, so it worked out perfectly for everyone. The only downside was the restaurant's hours. We met for dinner on a Thursday night at 7 PM, which feels like a pretty normal after-work dinner time, but they close at 8 PM. For a restaurant that serves dinner and cocktails, that felt surprisingly early. To their credit, the staff never rushed us out and were very patient while we continued catching up past closing. However, the early closing time would make it difficult for me to come back regularly, especially for weeknight dinners with friends. We also order carry out several times. But Yesterday Our experience Was truly tainted and inconsistent with what I would normally expect. My husband ordered his normal colossal burritos, no problem. But My order on the menu was titled a Basil dish where I had the option to add shrimp which I did. When my food arrived it was garnished with fresh Mint on top and sprigs of cilantro. There was zero sign of Any Basil, nowhere in my dish, lifted up the noodles, veggies and Shrimp. I Called over our guy Luke and showed him the plate and asked if he could simply bring a few leaves of Basil to the table. Luke returned and was told by the chef to inform me Basil was already in the dish! Then my husband offered to pay for the Basil that was supposed to be already present but, obviously missing. Luke went back to the kitchen and returned to our table empty handed, informing us he was instructed by the chef to give him my plate, and repeated again Basil is in there, and the chef, she will add to add the Basil. I told Luke I wasn't going to send my plate back to the kitchen after me already placing my fork into the plate and I don't understand Why, I can't just simply have the Basil bought over to our table. Luke's reply was "there's not enough Basil for that, and there was Basil already, and he had to follow the rules of his chef" I asked if the chef or manager could come to the table and he said No because she was cooking!". It was the strangest encounter to the point I had to let Luke know I have a full garden filled with herbs and know the difference between Mint and Basil. Cilantro, and he replied "some of what I was seeing was garnish0 . I couldn't believe I left my home to pay for this experience as my food sat incomplete on the table. My husband asked for the manager and he Finally bought a small bowl filled with the Basil. I added the Basil to my dish and stayed and ate my food because I truly was saving my appetite for the outing. But it Was awful, just sitting there with the staff happy to tell a customer what they would not do! And still pay! We gave Luke his gratuity as always, because I believe it wasn't his fault having to do all that unnecessary back and forth! But I won't forget this awkward experience as I watched other folks receive their choices from the menu. There are three seating areas all beautifully decorated and very casual feeling. On a Saturday night they had us seat ourselves and warned that entrees were taking about an hour to come out, but apps would be faster.
