What went well? Well, just about everything. Upon entering I noticed Alex and Spencer tending to customers, but within two minutes Spencer checked on me. I was perfectly fine since I knew exactly what I was going to purchase. My purchase was going to be Archie's flip flops with a perfect arch! Soon after...Alex checked on me. Again, I was good. Once I picked the color and size I was ready to check out. Alex was at the register with an inviting demeanor and excellent customer service. Tenni-Moc's has quite a selection of comfortable shoes and sandals. They offer well fitted shoes for elders as well as custom foot wear. Flip flops are my thing and they offer that type of inventory. I was referred here from Lucy! I am so grateful for her because she guided me in the right direction. I was having trouble with my insoles not being supportive enough as well as my shoes. I have a big foot and wide one at that. Somehow as I've gotten older my feet need more attention. I was in so much pain well walking that it was truly exhausting me after I work a 10 hour shift. So Lucy mentioned to ask for Vanessa. I made an appointment she was available certain times and days. Vanessa helped me get my personalized mold of my feet for my insoles. She also looked at my soles I was currently using and tweaked them a bit so I would not be in so much pain well walking. Vanessa was patient with me well I explained my issues and she had answers for everything I asked. Also on my very first visit Spencer assisted me in finding a new shoe to wear size 9 4 E. He brought me two pairs of shoes to try on and I loved my second pair he brought out. Brooks very roomy wide shoe. I ended up walking out with them on. Paid of course! The experience I had both times was amazing... the attentiveness was awesome I felt I was the only person in the store. Sitting down waiting on Spencer to bring out shoes. What started as a quick online search for shoe availability turned into one of the best brief shopping encounters I've ever experienced! Tennis-Moc's Shoe Store is located in a strip mall shared with Straw Hat Pizza and Starbucks. The drive from Norwalk was an easy one, and parking was ample. There's only one Tenni-Moc's, so they're truly one of a kind, and they're an absolute amazing small business! My oldest son needed sturdy, non-slip shoes for work, and he found them here. He spoke with Spencer over the phone to confirm if they had the size and style he wanted, and they did! When we walked into the store we were immediately and happily greeted by Alexandra (I think that's her name...), but she had a messy top bun and wore Danskos. They'd already set aside the shoes that my son requested, and all he needed to do was try them on. I took a quick walk thru the store, and while it's a small store, it's very well stocked with New Balances, Danskos, Birkenstocks, support stockings, fuzzy socks, beanies, purses, and more! It's very welcoming and the vibes are chill. I feel that if they don't have what you want, they would have very close seconds, or they would be very convincing to get you to buy something that you wouldn't have thought of buying. I told my son that he needs to bring his dad with him next time around because I'm sure there's something orthotic or support-something or other that he would want to buy. They have an IG account, @Tennimocs, and they're promoting their first livestream, a contest, and a pop-up. If there's ever a small business that you'd want to support, it should be Tenni-Moc's Shoe Store. There is a great selection of shoes. I was disappointed in some of the service though, specifically I asked some questions that I later found out the responses of the worker were not entirely correct and I felt my questions were kind of brushed over in order to just get me to make a final decision on buying one of the pairs I was trying. For example, my doctor recommended I get shoes in the 2e width because I have wide feet. The worker had me try a pair of shoes with 4e width probably because 2e wasn't available at that time in the shoe I was trying. When I questioned whether this made any difference and was okay, they said there was hardly any difference and that it was fine. I later found out that there is a significant difference between 2e and 4e and it has to do with the differences between female/male feet in regards to anatomy and width. The worker either was not knowledgeable, or just wanted me to buy the shoes and dismissed my question/concerns. In the end, I would say if you shop there, especially if you have feet problems, you need to do your homework and not go there blindly relying on what they tell you, otherwise, you'll probably end up second guessing yourself when you make a purchase. read more

I gave four stars because I had a pair of Naot brand sandals straps resized due to weight loss in my foot. Well, worth $35, if they had actually fit after being resized, but they were still too big. I took them back and was told under no uncertain terms I would have to pay another $35. This just did not make sense to me. I paid to have them resized and they were still too big. Either the measurements of my foot and or straps were not taken correctly, written incorrectly in the first place or the person who repaired them made a mistake. They have several different brands of "comfort" type of shoes. This is the perfect store for people with various types of foot problems. All of the employees are very knowledgeable and helpful. They also offer a money-back guarantee in the form of store credit, which I've used, and the process was easy.
