Failed repair
Trevor B.

Well, tbh, I had a simple job to be done on some floppy leather shoes. The side of the sole started to separate from the center towards the toe. $45 to glue and I assume stitch. After trying to retrieve for a few weeks, on the 2nd wear the original separation opened back up. Id have taken them back but the operation hours of this place make it extremely difficult to do any business with them, if you have a normal job. If you have no where else, they will get the job done, though.

Ricky was very nice today, the shop has mixture of types of items. There was a old school stereo which was playing great music. I'm getting a purse repaired I visited several shops no one to repair my purse . I will definitely return very soon....

When you walk in the door. This place is a mess.

DON'T GO HERE! This place is the worst!! I dropped off a backpack at the end of September to have zippers fixed. The owner said it would be done in a week. I went back two weeks later and he said it wasn't done to come back on Monday. I came back and it still wasn't done. Again, he said come back in a week. I just picked it up today, almost 6 weeks from the day I dropped it off. I don't like being lied to or strung along. He should of told be to begin with that it would be 4 weeks. I would have chosen to either leave it or go somewhere else. Now the damage has been done and I will never use his services again. There are several other shoe repair places in Long Beach and Lakewood. Use any of them except this guy. The price was good and my zippers are fixed, but not worth the hassle and multiple visits.

Unfortunately, the service requested was half done. I ended up having to take my shoes back after already paying to have the work completed.

Looking to have a pair of vintage boots shined, strings replaced and broken in...can i get a price?

How much to resole vibram-soled boots?

I'm curious whether Shoe Doctor dyes leather boots? If so then what would dying a pair of Tony Lama cowboy boots cost approximately. The boots are a brownish orangish and I'd like to get them dyed black. Thanks so much - brian

I had a pair of leather flats dyed for $20. Maybe that will give you an idea of pricing.

So when the exact same thing happened on the other side of my purse, I told Carlos that I did not want it repaired the same way!

I was perfectly fine since I knew exactly what I was going to purchase. My purchase was going to be Archie's flip flops with a perfect arch! Soon after...Alex checked on me. Again, I was good. Once I picked the color and size I was ready to check out. Alex was at the register with an inviting demeanor and excellent customer service. Tenni-Moc's has quite a selection of comfortable shoes and sandals. They offer well fitted shoes for elders as well as custom foot wear. Flip flops are my thing and they offer that type of inventory. They offer a nice selection of comfortable flip flops. Oh! And they offer shoe repair! Thank you Alex for your superb customer service and friendly demeanor. I'll be returning and referring friends!

I have a big foot and wide one at that. Somehow as I've gotten older my feet need more attention. I was in so much pain well walking that it was truly exhausting me after I work a 10 hour shift. So Lucy mentioned to ask for Vanessa. I made an appointment she was available certain times and days. Vanessa helped me get my personalized mold of my feet for my insoles. She also looked at my soles I was currently using and tweaked them a bit so I would not be in so much pain well walking. Vanessa was patient with me well I explained my issues and she had answers for everything I asked. Also on my very first visit Spencer assisted me in finding a new shoe to wear size 9 4 E. He brought me two pairs of shoes to try on and I loved my second pair he brought out. Brooks very roomy wide shoe. I ended up walking out with them on. Paid of course! The experience I had both times was amazing... the attentiveness was awesome I felt I was the only person in the store. Sitting down waiting on Spencer to bring out shoes. There were so many customers coming in and out of the shoe store I knew I was in the right place. I am just waiting on my insoles to be completed and will pick them up in a month.

I had seen good reviews online so I decided to take two pairs of Yves Saint Laurent boots there to get re-soled. I took them there like the 21st. I was told to come back today the 26th in the afternoon... Well friends, I walked in there and the place looked like a bomb had gone off. Everything was in trash bags and there was a garbage hauler out front. They were going to close down the shop and take everybody's shoes So I told them I'm not leaving until you find my boots. One pair was found pretty quickly and she kept trying to get me to come back the next day and I said no, you won't be here. And I literally waited an hour until he found my second pair of boots . They were half fixed, and the craftsmanship was horrible. I'm gonna have to take them somewhere else to get fixed, but I'm just so grateful to have my shoes back because they are so expensive. On one hand, I feel really badly for these people because clearly they're on very hard times on the other hand, you can't do this. You can't just close your business and leave a bunch of people stranded . I feel sorry for everyone who's gonna lose belongings they care about.

Picked them up about two weeks later (that is not how long he said it would take - I was traveling and requesting the later pick up). He requires payment in advance, in full - this was a huge red flag to me, but because of the positive reviews, I let it go. Arrived to pick up the boots and the lace holes had not been cut in. So he did it while I waited. Turns out, the holes were too small for the laces. He damaged the end of the lace trying to get them through. Said I just need to work it a bit more but if it doesn't go through, he'd have to replace the metal rivets and charge me more. He was eventually able to get the lace through one of the holes and sent me home to do the rest. When I asked about the damaged lace, he told me I could tape it up or buy new laces. I got home to finish the job. Had to use my husband's tools to try and make the holes a little bigger. As a result, some of the leather started cracking off - is leather supposed to do that?? I'm so angry. In fairness, I did not call the owner back to give him a chance to fix this mess. I don't trust he would actually do it. I debated a long time before leaving this review. I don't like leaving such negative reviews without giving the owner an opportunity to make right. But, in this case, it didn't seem that he cared that the job was not done well from the outset - why should he do anything; he already has the money. Then saying he would have to charge me more so I could lace the boots? Seeing the damaged laces and telling me to just tape it or buy new laces? This is not someone who cares about the end product. I did buy new laces but the holes were too small for the these as well. I tried two with the smallest diameters I could find. It wasn't the laces. I recently moved to the area. My prior shoe repair person charges far less and would NEVER return the shoes to me looking as these did. He took pride in his work. The shoes always came back looking brand new. And, while not cheap (taking care of good shoes is not cheap), I never paid as much as I did at San Pedro Shoe and Handbag. Sadly, he's an hours drive, one way. May just do that in the future though. About the only positive with this entire experience is that parking is quite ample. Just thought I should warn you. Would strongly recommend AGAINST paying in advance.
