My favorite 3-year-old boot got an amazing makeover, and I'm sure they'll last another 3 years.

I am new to the area and was looking for a show repair service. I went to a couple of locations near Shoe Wiz. In fact, Shoe Wiz was my last location I went to, to determine where I was going to have my shoes resoled, cleaned, and shined. My shoes are expensive so I was looking at products, reading reviews, and wanted to see first-hand the shops. Sam was working on an expensive, high-end purse when I walked in. He greeted me with a hello. I mentioned to him that I was looking at having some work done on some shoes and I was looking at a couple of locations. He set the purse aside and took the time to address all of my questions. It went so well, that I went to the car and retrieved 5 pairs of dress shoes. He walked through he shoe, asked me what I thought may be needed and they he walked me through each shoe too. The prices, like cleaning $20-$25 dollars, or the heel $40-$45, or the sole guard $45-$50 for men's dress shoes was very competitive. Also, I asked him about long-term care to keep the leather soft, so that the shoes would last awhile. I had some cute platforms, and the strap came off the shoe. It was glued to the shoe, and now...it's not. So I took it here, since the other one I go to is closed. First things first. The owner is the sweetest man ever! Very friendly and makes you feel welcomed. He's Armenian and I asked for good Armenian restaurants to go to. We talked a bit about food, and then he had me try this sliced meat on a French baguette. I expected to just get my shoe fixed, but I also got a sample of a Armenian snack. The meat was texturally similar to prosciutto and kinda tasted like that with a hint of salami flavor. I don't even know why I am talking about it...it's irrelevant to shoes. Either way I just felt so welcomed. I picked up my shoe today, and it was fixed. As good as new. Now I can work it with my black dress. This place is a great place to go. Great service, and had my shoe fixed 3 days after. And mind you he is getting a lot of customers. I see bags of other peoples orders. This man is busy! read more

I am SO glad I found this place - Sam is such a treasure and I really love being able to support local businesses. It's so great Sam is able to give new life to good quality pieces that might be a little worn out; I would rather repair some of my treasured shoes instead of throwing something out and contributing to landfill waste. Sam is so kind and honest and funny - can't praise him enough! I brought in my worn out, beat up, sad Coach boots that I've had for ~6 years. They were my favorite, treasured shoes and I couldn't bring myself to throw them out, even though I knew they were pretty worn out. Sam was really honest and upfront about how much everything would cost - he made recommendations on what he would fix now, and things that he thought we could hold off on. For $90, Sam gave the boots a good cleaning/polishing, fixed the zipper, fixed the soles, filled in chipped areas, and basically made my boots look like new. He made my shoes look INCREDIBLE/brand new and I'm so glad I'll be able to keep them and continue creating new memories with them. Love, love this small business. Happened upon this place when searching for a boot cleaning/repair for my daughter's ariat boots. The first time I dropped in the owner gave me a demo on how to use a shoe cleaner to save me money, and do it myself at home. The second time I returned was to give her boots a little more tlc. I brought knee high leather boots that were too big for my legs. I inquired from different locations but Sam from Shoe Wiz was the most helpful in explaining how he would alter my boots. Was looking to fix a pair of shoes that got scuffed on New Years Eve. You know how that goes lol. Looked up a few places and this had the best reviews. Asked him if he could fix them and he was honest and said he would do his best, and he can't guarantee that it will be like new but that it will be unnoticeable. Decided to take the chance and I was blown away. Sure if you look right at it in-front of you, you could tell it's been touched up and fixed but from far away they look brand new. I've had my Vince Camuto boots for over 7 years and the sole on the heel had finally cracked and completely fallen off four months ago. I absolutely love these boots, have never seen anyone wear them, and can't find them anywhere else. So much easier to throw them away (I \ like throwing things away so I can make room for new things) but instead, I thought - why not try and see if I could get them fixed? The boots had been sitting at home collecting dust... Fortunately, I got off work early on Christmas eve and found this place on Yelp as I was doing errands. I wasn't sure if they'd be open or closed early, but when I called at 2pm, they said to drop by and they will take a looksy. I got there in 10 minutes and showed them my struggle. Sam said they could fix it in an hour or so... OH NO, I have an appointment at 4pm, so I needed it to be done in more like 30 minutes... They were kind enough and understanding (it's Christmas eve), and he said okay, they will get it done in 20 minutes! In reality, it took them 15 minutes tops. I have a pair of 20 year old designer shoes and when I wore them a few days ago, the heels crumbled off (probably because I hadn't worn them in a while). I needed a shoe cobbler since they are one of my favorite pair of shoes. I found the business on yelp, and realized that they were the same business that once was in the Cerritos Mall. Before anyone says it, I get it, it's SHOE Wiz. Belt Wiz they are not. Most people who work on shoes, have the ability to work on other leather items. I would think someone rated so highly could at least sew in a straight line. I had my now Father-in-Law bring in my brand new Allen Edmonds belt to be altered from 32" to 30" on November 7th. I had talked prior to the folks at Shoe Wiz about bringing my belt in to get altered, but didn't have time to do it myself because no wedding planner means more work for you. Anyhow, my father-in-law texted me saying they suggested to go to 29" so when the belt was put on, it'd be on the center hole. I was like ok, sure. So I get the belt from my father-in-law and the stitching is diagonal across the belt. I mean seriously??? You had one job. There's nothing complicated about sewing in a straight line. I ruined my pair of suede dress shoes during a drunk night in Asia, and I tried to clean it off with Kiwi shoe cleaner. I made the tips of my shoes hard to the touch and there were noticeable marks all over. After Sam had a good laugh about how foolish I was to try and clean it myself, he explained to me what he was going to do and charged me a reasonable amount. A few days later, I picked up my shoes and they looked and felt as though they were brand new! The suede is mostly soft again and I'm very happy with their quality of work - good job guys! read more
