[[HIGHLIGHT]]This is a quaint little cozy coffee shop.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a trip back in time to when life was slower, more simple.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff is friendly. They serve good coffee and good pastries. I like that they have different flavors.

I had an appointment in Wylie and arrived to the area somewhat early and so I went to the main historic downtown area to spend a little time before my appointment. That is when I first came upon this lovely coffee shop. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Upon entering, I almost felt like I had walked into an old general store of yesteryear. The place is quite lovely really. It has the old creaky wooden floor as well as the old Timey built-in the wall shelves. The decor is absolutely lovely[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The only thing that I personally did not care for was all the taxidermy animals in the place. Don't get me wrong, they are tastefully displayed, but dead animals on display just freak me out a little[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. The folks working here are very friendly and welcoming. And when I ordered my food, they were very accommodating. In addition to coffees and teas this place serves baked goods as well. Their blueberry muffins looked amazing so for me, it was an easy decision of what I was getting. I am happy to report. It tasted as amazing as it looked! I love finding unexpected places - like Shoemaker & Hardy Coffee. We had a few minutes before a meeting, and the books layered in the window caught my eye, so I walked in. And I'm glad I did! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The store married old with new, with the smell of great coffee brewing, and homemade muffins.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It was delightful. I bought the blueberry cream muffin and loved every bite! It felt a little like a general store, at least that's what I think they were going for, but with modern twists. Like offering great coffee. It's a place you need to stop in when you're in downtown Wylie.

It's filled with nostalgic little knick knacks and was so charmingly decorated during the holidays.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They had tons of pastries to choose from, holiday special drinks like peppermint iced tea, and classics. What a hidden gem in downtown Wylie! I love this coffee shop. It is so warm and welcoming. The staff is so friendly and helpful. Both times I have visited I have always enjoyed my coffee. It is just the right amount of sweet in terms of the flavor and syrup. The store itself also offers cute trinkets and home decor for sell. There is seating throughout the store so you can enjoy your coffee and treats... and hangout. This is definitely just go to coffee shop in Wylie!

Lots of parking nearby! I love the ambiance it's very cozy and a good place for conversation. The person on register was very helpful with our questions. Our drinks came out great! I loved the specialty lattes and the almond poppy seed muffin was good as well. The muffin was warmed up for us and it was moist! Solid cafe!

Located in the heart of historic downtown Wylie, this coffee shop / novelty-gift-taxidermy store is certainly unique! I tried a Hawaiian Dream latte, with coconut and cinnamon, just because I've never seen a combo like that before, and was pleasantly surprised. There's a limited selection of cookies for sale. You can enjoy your snacks in a soft armchair with a zebra head or stuffed howler monkey looking on. While the gifts, greeting cards, nostalgic toys and other curios might appeal to children, this might not be the best spot to hang with your kiddos as every inch of every surface is crowded with irresistibly appealing (breakable!) items. Certainly worth a visit! Add this coffee shop to your list of hidden treasures of the Metroplex.

Ordered a CinnaBabe Iced Latte Medium. I really enjoyed the drink as the espresso was smooth and light and the flavor was well balanced. I would order an extra shot next time, but overall I enjoyed it. Would return. Staff was welcoming and kind and the atmosphere was casual and intriguing with many unique decorations.

First time in Wylie ever and this is the coffee shop I visited! Love the general store feel and how they have a ton of local goods as well as items that you see online sometime from bloggers but don't want to buy online because you want to smell first. Lots and lots of sweets, treats, cookies, candy, anything you can think of that will give you a cavity but satisfy your sweet tooth for sure. Not gonna lie, my latte was VERY sweet. If I'm ever back in the area and come here again I'll makes sure to ask for my drink half sweet or pick something different. This whole area is very cute! Loved walking up and down the road to check out the shops and then go to the park that's right up the street.

Love this place! The coffee is so much better than the big chains. The Chocolate Grasshopper is my favorite, with extra sprinkles! So many cool things to look at. I love to shop here for gifts for friends and family because you can find such cool stuff. I love to patronize small shops like this because it really supports my community and helps a local family pay their bills. read more

This is our favorite place in Wylie! We love the yummy coffee, lattes (Milky Way is the best!) & hot chocolate! Fresh muffins, scones, & cookies are a real treat. The atmosphere is homey & eclectic at the same time. The kids always find something they want, whether it's a toy, game or old-fashion candy. It's hard to get outta there without a game of checkers! And my hubby knows I won't complain if he buys me a gift from here either! The staff is super friendly and they know us by name. The employees must love it too, because many have worked there for as long as I can remember. They had to close a while last year after the hail storm. This is great coffee they serve it well hot or iced the staff is nice and will greet you with a smile the coffee is really rich and vibrant tasting it's fast too and a bit more pricy than Starbucks but it's totally worth it. If you are looking for a pick me up coffee and are in the area this is the place to be. If you are a traveler grab one and stop by the cafe across the street they let you take the coffee in. The sea salt caramel mocha is great for those looking for a rich salted caramel and coffee taste. The milky way mocha is great for vanilla lovers and if you want some regular coffee look no further. read more

Great cute place for coffee!! They have a ton of different flavors of lattes, coffees, and teas to choose from, along with some cute antiques and stuffed animals to shop around for. They have soy and almond milk too which is great, and the staff is so nice. Being vegan it's sometimes hard to find out if a mix or syrup has dairy in it or not, but the staff ALWAYS is willing to check ingredients for me and change some of the drinks to accommodate for me. Great place overall. read more

It's a cool vintage shop with a nice little coffee bar inside. The flavored coffee drinks are pretty good and unique, though they definitely run heavy on the flavoring. This isn't the kind of place where you will find hand-drips or local roasts, though. There are a few cozy chairs inside where'd you can enjoy your drink. The atmosphere is fairly nice. read more

#1 coffee shop in Wylie! Owners and staff are very friendly and coffee can be ordered half sweet....so you can splurge on a cinnamon scone! Also it is a great place to shop for unique gifts.....I wouldn't go anywhere else....can't beat this place! :) read more

Cute little place, reminds me of an old drugstore, lots of cool knick knacks. I ordered the caramel slip and though it was on the sweet side for me it was pretty delicious, more of a dessert than a coffee though. I'm excited to try other items on the menu, I really love small business coffee over a Starbucks any day. My one complaint would have to be the lack of seating though, there was only one small table from what I could tell. I will definitely be back, but will probably just order a drink to go. read more

Great lattes! I always make a detour to downtown Wylie when I'm in town to grab a coffee. Their scones are the best I've ever had. The staff is always very nice and treat you like family. I enjoy walking around the gift shop while I wait on my coffee. They always have great, unique gifts that are decent priced. My kids love going to the back off the store to play whatever game is on the table. read more

This place is OK in terms of drinks. I know that will upset some people. It is a fun shop to stop by and if you are looking for weird gifts. I came away unimpressed with their coffee, but to each their own. I think it does add to the downtown feel of Wylie. read more

Good old fashioned small town charm and great coffee drinks. This is definitely a perk to living in Wylie. My daughter and I love to come here and share a cookie and frappuccino. We especially enjoy the sitting area where I usually get schooled in checkers. Sometimes we even let Mom come along. Good place for gift shopping also. read more

Can't find better coffee! I get my espresso ground by the pound every two weeks. Always grab an English Toffee latte, cause....YUM! The cute fun little gift shop is a bonus because you can always find something you or somebody you know NEEDS and the cinnamon scones....DROOL! My husband and I love this coffee shop and have been coming here for years. We especially love the pumpkin pie latte that is new this year - it blows all other pumpkin spice lattes away! However, the baristas have been inconsistent over the past month. Sometimes the latte is amazing and sometimes its mediocre. It would be great to be able to confident in purchasing a drink there that it is going to be made the same way each time. read more

My best friend and I love meeting here on weekday mornings!! It's quiet and the chairs in he back are perfect for sitting and having a good conversation. The staff is friendly and the environment is warm. I especially love their coffee bar. You can get free refills or a specialty drink. They also have a selection of bakery goodies to snack on. This is my new writing spot when I need to go bang out some blog posts or get out of the house to work. They have a nice big comfy chair in the back and it's usually pretty quiet with a good atmosphere. Staff is friendly and fellow patrons are nice. Lots of crazy stuff to shop for if you are into antiques and what-nots. Their scones are REALLY good, and the specialty coffees I have had were all good, too. read more

Love this store. You never know what you will find when browsing. Something for your flower garden, wind chimes, a new scarf and the Southern Pecan coffee is always a treat. It's a tradition in my home to brew some up for our after dinner coffee at our Thanksgiving and Christmas feasts. read more

Shoemaker and Hardt has been around for a long time and used to be in many ways symbolic of the homey, friendly nature of Wylie and a staple of downtown. Unfortunately, in recent years, it has become apparent that Shoemaker and Hardt is nothing more than the other corporate businesses in town. First, they are massively overpriced and out of every four drinks that I've ordered, half are made incorrectly and often times, they are barely even stirred before being given to you. At many other places in town you can get the same or better drinks for cheaper. Secondly, the items in the store are at an even higher markup and while they used to seem unique and interesting, are now generally the same things you find at Walmart or Target with very little new things. Lastly, out of every store that I (and the people that were helping me) visited in Downtown Wylie, only one store refused to allow a few flyers for a local small church Vacation Bible School that was in need of kids and volunteers. Even Ballard Street Cafe and The Flower Shoppe- two other big staples of Downtown Wylie- happily allowed the flyers. While I generally am all for supporting local mom and pop stores in the area, I will be doing my best to avoid giving business here again. The prices are too high and while I understand the need for this in small businesses and used to be willing to pay the extra price, it is no longer a friendly, local establishment. It seems that the place is trying to hard to emulate the larger, corporate stores and is no longer the friendly little corner store it used to be. read more
