Our group of 9 were in Temecula to celebrate my wife's uncle Allen's 88th birthday. We're quite familiar with Shogun, having celebrated family get togethers on several occasions at their original Pasadena location in the past. So why only a 3 star rating from me? After probably a half dozen or more experiences with Teppanyaki grill restaurants, not really a fan of the food. More for show than anything else and a first time for uncle Allen. So that was good but things like our chef not providing much veggies for the rest of the remaining 7 of us, compared to the same amount given to her uncle and aunt was inexcusable. Especially seeing the amounts other same sized parties were receiving. Or the fact that my wife and I got the same bland chicken as others in our party requesting teriyaki, while we had orders of sesame with no sesame seeds or sauce provided. And finally getting the three sad birthday singers and drummer showing up to our table well after they had visited others. Some well after our group's birthday party had arrived. No need for me to visit another Shogun location in the future. My 3 star vote is being a bit generous. A big thank you to my wife's youngest brother Ken and his wife Natalie, for hosting and covering all expenses at Shogun. And later opening their home for the remaining birthday and Super Bowl celebrations!

Shogun Special

Last night, me and my husband and our three month old went to Shogun. It was my husband's first time at any hibachi. I was a little bit nervous with bringing a baby in a stroller, but the staff was very helpful. The restaurant was very clean inside they had a really nice bar inside. I also noticed. The service was honestly amazing Cathy was our server and she was very attentive ,fast with getting our drinks and very good with checking up on us.. Wes was our chef who was cooking for us and he was 10 out of 10 amazing. The food tasted amazing. Overall, it was a great night and a great first time experience for my husband. We will definitely be coming back.!

Always love going to Shogun. We frequently eat here. My go to is the Filet and Colossal shrimp. My last visit I chose the Wagyu Rib Eye and Colossal Shrimp. I also love the butter cake, it is a must. Enjoy the selection of Japanese beer and Saki. Sometimes it takes a while to get your drinks from the bar so make sure to get the bar orders in early. The show is always entertaining and they have a large selection of combinations.

Wonderful experience every time! Delicious food, happy talented chefs.... Sometimes they can be a little slow on the drink orders but otherwise quite a lovely dinner show. The new bar is beautiful

We had a great experience at the Shogun tonight. Our Tap pan Grill chef was Limber. I took his name down because I had colossal Shrimp and they were perfectly cooked. My husband and I ended up with so much shrimp as the people that were on the table didn't eat shrimp at all so we got all their shrimp appetizer. We have dinner now for another day.

We have been dinning at Shogun over 10 years. Yum!

We have been enjoying Shogun for 15+ years. We have been there twice in the last month to celebrate our anniversary and my birthday . We could have chosen other restaurants but know we always get really great food and service at Shogun. They remodeled over the last year, sparing no expense. Frankly, there is no comparison to Benihanna. Shogun is a far better choice. The chefs at Shogun are outstanding provide exceptional entertainment and really delicious food. The staff is always welcoming and efficient. We can hardly wait for our next visit.

Great experience, first time at this particular location! Our chef was funny and kind! We came in mid day during week and it was super slow which was great for us! Our food was cooked to perfection and our servers suggestion of sushi was AMAZING! We will definitely be back. Only con: the hostess was not there at the moment, a gentleman helped us and he was terribly rude. I'm glad the rest of the experience was great!

She was the best server ever!

What time do the teppan tables start seating?

Is Shogun have weekdays lunch specials meal? Any idea what's kind of meal?

Yes

How much in advance can we make a reservation? Planning for a graduation dinner in a couple weeks and want to make sure we lock in a time.

You can call however long in advance to make a reservation! The earlier the better, cause this place can get pretty busy during graduation times/holidays. Just include how many people will be in your party and whether you need any baby… Read more

Anyone how to make reservations? they are not answering the phone

I suggest calling early like around 12nn-1pm right when they open.. Or right before they close around 8-8:30pm

Not only was the Bloody Mary on point, but the food was incredible. We started with the ahi tuna, which was fresh and flavorful. Brunch lasts until 2pm and then from 2pm to 245pm they serve only appetizers. Lmao. Thats certainly interesting. Aesthetically this place is gorgeous. I love that they are dog friendly and it wasnt too hot today at the patio. I got the bloody mary to start and it was pretty good. The bacon in it was amazing, however, it didnt taste like 2 shots. The drink was thick but the flavor was still good. I got avocado toast with smoked salmon. This very small meal was 20$. I got a lox bagel and 4 huge pieces of smoked salmon with capers and a side of avocado a few days ago in Vegas on the strip and that was 16$. Sooooooo... how is this justifiable? Anyways, I also ordered a diet coke and they came out with a mini can. Talk about why this place is called "small" barn. Lol! The server stated the can is super small bc its only 2$. Thats just silly. Just get the bigger can and charge me 3 bucks for it. Thats fair in my humble opinion. 4$ for two mini cans is wonky to me. Alas, these are not the reasons why this place originally got a 2 star from me. It was the tomatoes on my avocado toast. They taste spoiled, old, and mushy. It made my stomach hurt a bit. As for the salmon, it tasted like it smelled, funky. Why i ended up giving this place a 3 instead of 2 stars? Bc their creme brulee was the BEST creme brulee I've ever had. It was so luscious, creamy, and it felt like these are the kinds of desserts GODS eat! It was amazing! My server was friendly and talkative with me up until the end. She said "have a good day" in an oddly, irritated way when I paid with my card. Oh wells. Ill come here for the desserts! And perhaps ill give other things a try

My man spoiled me beyond measure, we got the Tomahawk, bone in family style, it only came with asparagus and mash for... $198. I really wanted the steak and I love a good bone in steak. For this price, they could do better with the sides, I mean, asparagus and potatoes aren't that much and especially in bulk. In my opinion m, these sides do not match the overall esthetic of the restaurant. The sides should be way better! Although they were good we wouldn't spend the money again. We also got bread, it wasn't good, it was just too much of a different variety and they should give free bread and make you pay for that kind of bread basket. The wedge salad was amazing!!! I could have just ate that, no joke, it's so good. The Mac n cheese was definitely a great choice! It was so bomb! Get the mac n cheese I also loved my waitress and should have gotten her name! This place is great for their employees bc they're not overworked, well it seemed as if they were not and many people helped out with our table collectively! Five stars for that! That also creates a happier environment for employees. Overall I would come back here, especially bc it's located inside of Pechanga, the food is great, and the customer service is top tier. I just wouldn't get that tomahawk and wouldn't get so much but could have the Mac n cheese with a salad for dinner or just a steak. 10 out of 10! Oh and the waitress said you really don't need sides for the steak, they have lots of side/sauce options but they served the steak with a house made A1 and it's so damn goooood haha

Wow. Usually love coming here. But. Tonight was different…read more Greeted nicely. MJ at the host stand stand was epic. Happy. Nice. On point. Server Pradeep is stellar! Not sure there are many servers in the world as kind as him. Incredible. My wife and mom ordered Flo's Filet. 6 0z. Medium. My wife's was excellent. It was a filet. Thin pink. Slightly charred outside. Tender. Perfect. Mom's. Gray. Pale. More tough. A top sirloin. No pics. Sorry. But. Definitely not the same steak. At all. Braulio the mgr came over. Looked at the steaks. Stated there was no way meat could be mixed up because they use skewers on outgoing steaks. Weirdly, there were no skewer markers in our steaks in the three steaks we ordered. He semi-apologized and conveyed the least amount of empathy ever witnessed. He still denied the wrong steak was delivered. He offered to send out another filet. But, an 86-yr-old lady can only eat so much. She ate 1/3 and was over it. At the very least, the mgr could have said "So sorry. We sometimes make mistakes. Let me down-charge you to a top sirloin." It's ok to admit the kitchen maybe, possibly, might have made an error. And that's ok. But to say there was no error, you are doing a disservice to customer service. Heck. If he had even offered a $10 gift card for a return visit, I would have been impressed. See. It wasn't the point of being delivered a wrong steak, it was the point that the manager denied it. I never do this, but I took pictures of the floors. Oof. Never seen this before. Trash. Food chunks. I showed Braulio, and he couldn't have cared less. He said "Ok." I can't recall this restaurant ever looking like this. I did get an answer from a worker, "It's late and we're finally getting the floor cleaned up." Most places have the floors cleaned regularly throughout the day/night. Never have seen this in prior visits. So.....Would we return? Possibly due to Pradeep and MJ. And to the usual great experience.

The minute you walked in, the ambiance just wasn't it. Perhaps because we were the only minorities there and everyone else wasn't (including the staff) but it was uncomfortable having people stare at us while we were eating and having our own conversations. Someone came to get our drink order and then it took a bit of time for our actual waiter Leila to come take our order. She did mention she was doing something else. we ordered the steak and frites and their pork chop which was the special of the day. I ordered my steak medium rare and the rest of the table ordered it in medium. When the steaks came out, the waiters seem confused as if they weren't sure which plates went where and when asked if that's a medium rare steak, they stated yes. That steak was medium and it was also dry and under seasoned. It was also tough and chewy. The fries were either undercooked or overcooked. Chimichurri sauce had no flavor to it. We did also order the cedar salad which was delicious. Their calamari and wings were as well. At the end of the night, Leila asked our friend how he liked his steak because it didn't seem like he ate anything. He said it was okay and she kept insisting you can be honest and kept pushing the matter. This was extremely uncomfortable because there was no need to make him feel like he was put on the spot. while I understand the need to want feedback, if your guest says it's okay and seem uncomfortable, maybe leave it at that. She then came over to me and asked about my steak and again saying, "you can be honest." Why wouldn't I be? I did tell her the steak was cooked incorrectly, that was not a medium steak and pointed out that it was dry. There was this awkward silence at the table because honestly there wasn't a need to keep pushing. Simply asking how was it would have suffice. They did end up comping my steak which was nice of them however the entire experience just wasn't pleasant. From the ambiance, to the crowd, to the food - wasn't worth it.
