Word of advice...make a reservation lol. It's aways busy but the service doesn't waiver. Our waitress Zane was amazing. I'm always complicated and need to change this and add this and do this and she got it to correct and relayed what needed to be to the chef. I appreciate her. As well our chef Manuel was outstanding. He made sure to adhere to all my requests and did it with a smile. All and all it was a great experience. Another word of advice...bring cash to tip. We came to celebrate or grandson's 5th birthday on Wednesday night. Thankfully, we had a reservation for 6. You do have certain expectations when you come to restaurants like these that offer a little show & great food. It was a hot, sweltering evening replete with the state's flex alerts. When we were seated at our table/grill the temperature was just as uncomfortably hot indoors. Yes, I get it, the room is filled with hot grills. It was so bad that my daughter spoke to someone about turning on the AC. This indicates to me that the business is showing little concern toward their customers & employees. It's unacceptable that the paying guests' comfort is not a priority for what could be an otherwise entertaining evening & overall great experience. The AC mercifully kicked on about mid-meal. The meals are costly & at that price point our comfort should be part of the Shogun package. That was the only downside. Now for the positives: Our grill master expertly showed off his chops (pun intended) and served us a great meal of fried rice, noodles, teriyaki steak, chicken, shrimp, and mixed vegetables. He was very entertaining. Unfortunately, I didn't catch his name but he did well and had a very nice personality and wowed us with his professionally coordinated utensils flipping/juggling. Hope the grandson doesn't get any ideas! LOL! Our server Zane was awesome. She remained sweet, friendly, and attentive throughout the heat. Not an easy feat while wearing a kimono with a perpetual smile. We received 10% off the bill when I checked in. Yay! Thanks Yelp! We absolutely savored the delicious food & would return again. 10% off on Yelp Mon-Thurs as of early January 2021! We were going to the axe throwing place nearby, which allowed outside food. Like most restaurants during covid, these guys are take out only. We placed our order over the phone. It was ready when promised. Quick and easy process! We got two trays - appetizer and sushi. Perfect amount of food for 5 adults! You get a little bit of everything. The app tray isn't customizable, but you get your selection of a few sushi rolls to go with the rest of the sushi tray. We made reservations a few nights ago to come and celebrate our new engagement. This place has been a go-to since 2008. We usually love it here. Tonight we had the worst dining experience I think I've had in my life. When we arrived, we were seated next to a family of 4 and two babies. The chef came out and did a small routine then got to cooking. The rice was great as always but then everything else went downhill quickly. Lobster was dry, scallops were completely over cooked, and our first filet mignon (which was supposed to be rare) was cooked completely too long. In the middle of cooking the second filet that we ordered, the people that we shared our table with said they were not happy with their yakisoba noodles. They said to the chef that they were hard and wanted them cooked longer. We saw them both take bites with their fork and then put the half eaten noodles back into a pile with the other noodles on their used plates. When they complained to the chef, he scooped the noodles off of their used plates with his metal spatula that he was using to cook, and put the noodles back onto the grill! This was less than a few inches from the filet mignon that we were waiting for. Seconds later, he then used the same spatula to pick up (our now over cooked) steak and tried to put it onto our plate. We kindly refused it explaining that we thought it was unsanitary. He asked the waitress to bring out another steak, though we said we would rather just skip on it at this point. Without cleaning the grill, he put the new steak onto the grill and used the exact same spatula again. We asked the waitress for a box so we could give it to our dog and not let more food go to waste. Our waitress, Traci, was very kind. We informed her what happened after the chef and other party left. She apologized and went to her manager right away, but then came back to let us know that her manager said that she wasn't going to come out to speak with us. The manager gave us an embarrassing 20% off of our bill, even though we did not eat anything from that $50 meal except the rice. We didn't ask for a free meal. Instead of the manager coming out to speak with us, she gave a discount in an effort to shoo us away. There were only two tables in the entire restaurant at that point, and it was after 9pm. There was no excuse for that. Our bill came out to be $125. We made sure to tip our waitress appropriately. Our night was not great. Our engagement dinner was disappointing. This place needs better sanitary standards and when a mistake is made, their managers should step up and take accountability. After this experience, and laughable discount rather than fixing the issue, we will not be coming back. What a complete disappointment. read more

Upon our arrival we were seated right away with another party of four at the grill. Waitress came took our drink orders, everything seemed to go smoothly. She brought our soups, salads and drinks. No utensils on the table, we had to wait for her to bring some over. That would be the last time we would see her. We waited over and hour at the grill, no one came to check on us, or give us a status I decided to ask up at the front what the status of our table was. It was then when someone came to let us know that a chef would be over as soon as one became available. By this time another 20 minutes went by and no chef or waitress came. We got up and left. The only reason I am giving 4 stars is because of feeling so rushed during the drink, appetizer, soup and salad. They were very wonderful as we had reservations at 4pm for 9 people. We made the reservation earlier so we wouldn't be rushed with a big party. Everything seemed like it was going great, as we ordered our drinks and appetizers. Then the waitress came back and asked if we were ready to order? We were but as soon as we ordered the appetizers came. Within a couple of minutes we had soup and salad. Really not a lot of room for all of that at once. So we hurried to finish the appetizers then tried to get to our soup and salad. I have been here before and definitely never felt so rushed, especially at an early hour. Our chef was Jorge and he was wonderful. We had two birthdays for a couple of youngsters and he really did make them happy. I will say I had the sashimi appetizer and it was very fresh. Everyone else had sushi as an appetizer and they were all very happy. Love that Jorge knew how to cook a rare filet and scallops!!! They were wonderful!!! Reservations recommended, and you have to call them (they don't use OpenTable or another service). There's always a packed house and the service is pretty good. They serve large portions, but we've had our chef burn our food pretty bad a few times. When we do come, it feels like we go more for the experience than the quality of the food. read more

They are always pretty busy so call for a reservation or expect a wait. I think that being busy is indicative of running a successful establishment that provides a wanted product. They have a wide variety of appetizers. The crispy rice is our absolute favorite. Sometimes we just do 4 orders of crispy rice for pick up and eat that for our movie night. Crispy rice is deep fried rice rectangles with spicy tuna and a delicious thin sauce on top. Can't get enough, but don't fill up before the show begins. Every show we have experienced has been entertaining and exciting. Each different chef has their own unique moves as they make your fried rice and entree on a huge flat iron grill as you and your party sit along the perimeter. The waiter staff are always available and they keep tasty adult beverages coming. It is best to try and sit directly in front of the chef because you might get a special shrimp treat. Do not hesitate to communicate with the chef; they have special sauces available that are not necessarily offered. My favorite is to ask them to cut the fat off of the ribeye steak and grill the fat eXtra crispy. Then, I ask for the spicy sauce on my steak and shrimp. My wife's favorite is the ginger salad dressing that comes with the dinner salad. They have a decent selection of sushi that is always delicious. Come to Shoguns if you are looking for great food, entertaining show, and great service! read more

The only reason I'm giving this place 4 stars instead of 5 is because of how long we had to wait before they got started. We were literally sitting in our seats for almost an hour. When the chef came he was good and the food was really flavorful. So the meal itself was good. I don't know if our waitress was just overwhelmed or new or whatever but she was slow to refill our drinks as well. Great experience once things got rolling. It was just super slow to get our food cooking and slow to get our drinks refilled once it did start. But the meal itself was awesome. I'd give this spot another try. Overall it's a good spot quality wise especially being a chain spot.. what made this place great though, the chef named Cyril. What a guy! He had amazing suggestions, and was quick. This was my first time at this restaurant. We had reservations so we were seated promptly. The ambiance was very nice, it was busy and loud. People were laughing and the music was nice, at least for me most of the songs were 80's. Our chef was friendly. He was a bit difficult to understand because the place is loud and he had a mask on, but we enjoyed his tricks. The food was ok. It lacked seasoning, there are no salt or pepper shakers anywhere. The steak was cooked to perfection and I appreciated how he cut it before serving it on my plate. You do get a lot of food!! Overall it was nice but I will bring salt and pepper with me. read more

I hadn't eaten all morning and I was HUNGRY. Normally hunger will help make most meals even tastier, unfortunately no amount of starvation could make my teriyaki chicken less dry. We opted not to do the grill and just sit down. The service was nice, props for having really friendly staff (super courteous.) I don't know if the lunch crowd gets the previous night leftovers, but the steak, chicken, rice, everything but the crab mix in the California roll was dry and almost stale. I'm still hungry but I couldn't finish my food. (I despise wasting food but what can you do? The damage was done.) Maybe if you get the grill you get the fresh food? I love hibachi! I mean who doesn't? We have been coming here for years and have always had a great experience. We usually opt to sit at the grill rather than a booth mainly for the entertainment. We were in a group but my husband and I ordered the filet minion & chicken dinner which was about $34 so for both of us it was $69 for the meal. It included salad, miso soup or onion soup, meat of choice, vegetables & rice. You really can't go wrong with hibachi. The ginger sauce was so delicious I had them give me extra. Our server was nice and so was the man who was making our delicious meal. After a bit of entertainment we decided to order a desert. We got a banana tempura ice cream combo. Trust me, it is as good as it sounds! Banana was deep fried in tempura served with vanilla ice cream with whipped cream and chocolate drizzle. Are you kidding me? My mouth is still watering. Of course we devoured the entire thing. The banana dessert was around $8. Our total was over $100. But still it was so worth it. I absolutely love this place. Next time I'd love to try the sushi! I can't wait to come back. This place does seem to fill up fast we were lucky to get in without a reservation but definitely get one to be sure you sit at the grill. It was a little hot in here. The restaurant rules. The food is dynamite. The presentation is akin to a drum solo at a Rush concert. This particular restaurant, we've had two issues with, one time we ordered pickup, and they didn't have it, didn't have a record of it. But we definitely were talking to the person that took our order over the phone. The other thing was we had a reservation on a holiday, and they completely did not have a record of it, told us, oh well, if you booked it on the website we don't see those. Like... okay? Don't have an option on your website. They didn't seat us and we all had to go somewhere else. But still, the place rules. Just avoid holidays. Maybe call several times to check on your reservations?
