The edamame too tasted different with what they called the "spicy edamame". It wasn't your typical chili flake spice; this one tasted like a bit of gochujang or miso paste. It was a nice change from what you normally get at other Japanese places. The inside is just on the smaller scale so if you have a large group, it may not work out especially if they are busy. They also do not have an outdoor area. So, I would say 1-4person group would work. We came on a Friday evening and there was only 1 table of 2 left for us. So, we will definitely be back. We recommend this spot if you are in the area and want to eat good quality Japanese food!

Everything I've had here has been exceptionally fresh and delicious. In fact, I keep bringing more friends and family with me each time because I want everyone to experience it. If you're planning to visit on a Friday, I highly recommend arriving around 5:30 PM if you want a good chance at getting a seat because it's small. This place is absolutely worth it.

It was a little chaotic trying to figure out how I could submerge all the ingredients in the broth so they would cook evenly. The tempura is perfectly crispy, but the rice was a little brittle and got dried really fast. The texture was more like Vietnamese broken rice, and it caught me off guard because when I tried their sushi a while ago, they used very high-quality rice. As is typical with sukiyaki, the broth becomes very flavorful at the end, absorbing all the flavors from high-quality ingredients, but my udon got a little dry while waiting. Since I tried both set, the wagyu sukiyaki broth became a little too sweet at the end. My favorite is definitely the seafood sukiyaki broth. Would I try these pricy sukiyaki again? Probably not. Would I go back to Azayaka again? 100%. This would not discourage me from going back there any amount.

Everything was very fresh and presented beautifully. It was a lovely solo lunch on a beautiful day. I can't imagine a nicer way to treat myself after a doctor's appointment. When scheduling future visits, I'll try to make sure they're around midday so I can stop off at Express for lunch before heading home.

We also had the spicy Karaage, it was not overly spicy, super flavorful, and very juicy large chunks! The little salad that came with the karaage was also very delicious. They offer sushi on the menu as well as all the more common Japanese dishes like Teriyaki. That's kinda like the sweet and sour of Chinese food, it's everywhere. Service was super friendly and I ordered the Beef Sukiyaki and my friend ordered the Chicken Sukiyaki. For sort of an appetizer we ordered some salmon sashimi. Tea to drink for us. The sashimi comes out first. Decent sized portion and the salmon was super tender melt in your mouth like it should be for sashimi. Then our big bowls arrive. My beef sukiyaki smelled wonderful. The chicken sukiyaki was good smelling too, but not as strong as the beef version. They both were super hot, so we needed to let them cool a little. Meanwhile I used my chopsticks and pulled out some of the beef. Blow to cool and tasted it. Wow, this was super good flavor and tender, not all chewy like it could be. The broth was seasoned just right, just the right sweetness and saltiness combined with tofu and veggies. The noodles were cooked just perfect. The chicken version, my friend liked a lot. She's not a big red meat eater like me, so it was good they offered a chicken version. The portions in the bowl were so big, we barely finished and were stuffed. I'll definitely come back here again if I'm in the area. This is way better than Vietnamese Pho that's for sure.

There was no sign for us to wait to be seated. 2) server was very nice. 3) we got our water quick. Water tasted good. 4) Sushi and bento box was good. Sauces were very salty. Chicken katsu was moist and good. 5) server paid attention to the tables with customers and made sure to bring the tab as soon as they were done eating. 6) as I mentioned, it's one large room with several businesses inside there is a bathroom in the back. You have to walk past the bar to get to the bathroom. 7) lots of parking. There were so many options on the menu that we were hoping to sample, but we finally settled on one each of the three different kinds of musubi they have (the OG Spam, chicken katsu and barbecue chicken), the fried saimin (again with Spam); I selected the barbecue mixed plate and my cousin picked the barbecue and chicken katsu plate. For dessert, the malasadas were an obligatory finish. (I'm just sorry we didn't get a photo of the malasadas.) We were instantly transported home with the first bite of the fried noodles. The musubi was the perfect ratio of meat to rice, and the nori perfectly covered everything (not one of these "bikini strips" of seaweed that don't even cover half of the musubi). The portions for the plates was impressive, and I've gotten a total of four meals from my leftovers. The malasadas were pillowy, and perfect, not greasy. The Hawaiian music was the perfect touch. It really felt like we were home during our meal. The restaurant was immaculate as was the restroom (yes, I judge a place on the cleanliness of the restroom and make sure there's soap in the dispenser!). So take it from someone born and raised in the Aloha State: if you're looking for 'ono mea 'ai (means "delicious food" in Hawaiian) DQ Hawaiian BBQ is the place to go.

I got the chicken katsu curry, crispy and tasty with a nice mild curry sauce. I could have gotten the mini version and still been full. As it was we took a LOT home. Our friend got the kalua pork and she was very happy with it also. We're suckers for malasadas and we were very pleasantly surprised to find them on the menu.
