Our Waiter was very helpful and knowledgeable with a great personality. We had just arrived in Pigeon Forge and just wanted something casual. Shoneys has been around for a long time. We don't have one near us at home so it seemed perfect. We ordered the Salad/hot bar since we couldn't decide on any menu items. The fried chicken and pinto beans were good. The "pork chop" was like nothing I've ever seen....It was like a frozen, mushy floured and deep fried UFO (unidentified Fried Object)! The rest of the items were just Meh. I was very disappointed. It wasnt the Shoney's that I remember. Our waitress Christy was very inattentive. We had the food bar and arrived around 2:30. She said they just started the lunch buffet. At 2:30??? I asked for sweet tea with lemon. She never told me they didn't offer lemon. I've never heard of this and was quite shocked. Somehow a white squeeze filled with a liquid appeared at our table without introduction. Apparently, lemon juice was in it but we werent informed what the liquid was. I smelled it and I think it was lemon juice. Bryan, who works in the back I think, explained that they dont offer lemons for some odd reason. We noticed we didnt have any silverware so my husband tried to find Christy. He found her and she was leaned up against the cabinet in the back laughing with 3 other servers. He gave up and found good old Bryan again to save the day! I went to the bar and tried the chicken fingers that were hard as a rock and tasteless. I tossed them on the table. I didnt even want it on my plate. Bryan came and told me he dropped some fresh ones in the frier for me as he wanted us to have fresh food. We stacked our used plates at the end of the table. Went back to the bar, came back and my silverware was gone. She took mine but left my husbands. I'm like that's it. Bryan brought me new silverware. She was again playing Miss Congeniality in the back. This manager needs to pay better attention to his staff. No wonder there was only 2 more couples in there at that time. When we were preparing to leave I asked Bryan if we can cash out with him and he get credit for the sale. He said sure. She FINALLY came to the table wanting to know if we needed anything, more tea, coke etc. Where was she the last 45 minutes when we needed her??? She saw the ten dollar bill on the table and probably figured it was her tip. It would have been had she been an attentive server but I gave it to Bryan who was a far better effective and friendly server than she was. She needs more training in customer service. The manager needs more training in being an effective manager and watching his people. Be better folks. Bryan you are a great example of an employee with exemplary customer service. Maybe you would be a fine manager/trainer. Keep up the good work. read more

The buffet was so good! Comfort foods, hot and fresh. Great cold salad bar. The cabbage soup was SO GOOD!! Our waitress was so nice and attentive. She was fabulous. It's been about a month since my visit and my partner and I still remember our waiters name. If you are lucky enough to get Craig as your waiter you are in for a treat. I love me a buffet where it is up to me to fix my own plate, if I don't like it, it's my fault. The biggest thing that brought me here was that it was so close to where I was staying and I didn't have to go very far to find a decent place to eat. When I showed up, I walked in and was greeted immediately at the door by one of the servers that was giving the glass a fresh shine. Went inside and waited to be seated. The same server that was shining the windows sat me. No need for me to look over the menu because I already knew I wanted the buffet. All that I needed to do was place my drink order and the server was right on top of that. Honestly, I want to give a shout out to my server here. I believe his name was Joseph or something, he was all over it in here. Taking care of other tables as swiftly as mine. He made sure that I had napkins, drink refills, table was cleared, and he was very much in tune with the area. He gave me tips on where to go while in the area on my short stay. He knew all the great little spots to go, even if it was to the national park nearby. He knew where to get a great picture anywhere in the area and at what times would be great to go anywhere. Back to the restaurant, I made my way to the buffet and started off with a salad like I always do, pairing it with their bread. Second trip was to load up on the usuals, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, chicken. I'm not even sure how many trips I made, but I left here satisfied. Prices are reasonable for a buffet and my oldest was super excited it was a Tuesday night so there was breakfast stuff. There was a few things I picked that I didn't love. We always come here to this shoneys , We have for over 5 years now . The food on the bar was very under cooked and the man cooking in the back had a full face of hair , I did bring it to my servers attention but was told it wasn't mandatory they wear a hair net . Yuck !!!!! The lettuce was bad bad . No bacon for over 20 mins !! We love the service here but probably won't be back for a while. read more

I stoped in there with my husbend and I. june 25th. The server came up to out table she smelled of weed. It took her so long to get back with our drinks. We checked the buffet out heard it was so be be good but all the food was nasty and cold , So she finally came back to our table so we just orded some hambugers and fries took for ever. After the server brung our food out we seen her go out side she never came back to check on us as we r going up to pay which took mger for ever to come up and pay our ticket. They ask us how everything was we told them about our server not coming back to check on us we was able to get refills. We will not be back to this place quess workers r more worried about being out side doing drugs. I am not giving any stars at all. read more

This shoneys was as great or better than I remember from childhood! They had tenderloin and country ham on the breakfast bar. Who does that? It was delicious and the restaurant had 2 + attendees to service the bar and clean continuously. The wait staff was also a joy! read more

I've never had worse food in my life man. Buffet was rancid. Service wasn't bad tho nice waitress. Ambiance was run down. Nachos salty as can be. The meat was gross. My girlfriend took one bite and almost vomited. I ate cuz I wanted to suck it up but I couldn't eat much of it without feeling gross afterwords. I was so excited to eat here but I was so let down. This place was gross. From the buffet to the tables, just seemed like a very unclean place. The food wasn't very good and the waitstaff wasn't friendly. When our waitress brought the food to our table, she looked at my boyfriend and said "You're the man, you do it" referring to taking the *hot* plates off her tray and placing them in front of those who ordered at our table. Frankly, that was rude and the total disregard she had for him getting burnt was unacceptable. read more

Best breakfast buffet anywhere in the state of Tennessee. This location was newly remodled. I was really impressed by the way they were fighting covid 19. They even had everyone where gloves at the buffet. I cant speak for lunch and dinner food, but breakfast was A1. You name it, it was on the buffet. read more

We visited here while on vacation...looking for a breakfast buffet during off season and on a week day. We arrived at 9:20, and the eggs looked old and were cold, but as soon as I mentioned it to our AWESOME Server, (ID: 1) she asked the cook to prepare fresh, and he did as well as fresh pancakes. She explained that it was off season, and if we wanted ANYTHING REPLACED AND PREPARED HOT, just ask, and it would be done! The rest of the breakfast bar was quite flavorful and fresh!!! My roommate LOVED the sausage biscuits and gravy, my god son LOVED the grapes, sausage, bacon and hot chocolate, and I LOVED THE HOT, FRESH BREAD PUDDING...I'M A BREAD PUDDING FANATIC, AND THIS IS THE BEST I'VE EVER HAD...SIMPLY THE BEST...I WANT MORE!!! read more

Decent food. They don't have the breakfast rice (my favorite). My fellow Shoney's breakfast buffet fans will know what I'm talking about. Service was good. They offer 20% military discounts and buffets (dine in or take out) are $10.99. My family and I purchased 2 to go containers and filled it up. We were able to feed four people for less than $20. I recommend trying this if you are vacationing and have a few mouths to feed. read more

My boyfriend and I were looking for a place to eat and saw Shoneys! Our Shoneys in Kentucky had closed down a few years ago so we thought we would try it. Our first clue should have been the lack of cars at the busy dinner time. The waitress was friendly. The menu was limited, so we went with the buffet. Let me at first say the price of the buffet on the menu was listed as $10.29. Well I have to honestly say it was some of the worst food I've ever tried. I got a plate of salad. Also got a plate of eggs, potatoes, French toast sticks, and bacon. It all just tasted old and for a lack of better word... bad. BF got a chicken thigh and some green beans. We both just took a couple bites literally and decided to give it up and leave. Hated to pay for it since we didn't even eat but what can you do? Well was shocked to be charged over $40 for this garbage! I asked the cashier who I believe might've also been the manager "what was that price?" He told me and said rather rudely that's what you ordered wasn't it? It is a buffet. The price wasn't what was on the menu, it was $14.99, not $10.29. I said yeah well we didn't even eat it but go ahead I guess. So I paid for the trash and told him they need some fresh food, thanks for nothing, and now we have to still go find another place to eat.
