SP&P has revamped their business under new ownership, but none of their online information has been updated. We searched extensively on foot for the advertised shop. They are no longer at that location. Bikes are obtained at public bike racks around town and unlocked with a combination that is texted to you. That is very convenient but knowing that ahead of time would have been nice. Alse, their prices were increased over the ones advertised online. The prices are still reasonable, but they should honor the advertised prices until they get their act together. read more

We stay at St. Michaels Marina and it is so convenient to call and reserve kayaks for the location near Foxy's Bar and Restaurant. $33 for a hour on a "tandem" kayak is a pretty good deal in my opinion. I would like to talk about a matter of personal safety that happened this weekend.... I went kayaking with my wife in the St. Michaels area. The rental period was for 2 hours. After about an hour of kayaking, we decided to go back to where we departed from. We soon realized we were going the wrong way. A 2-hour kayaking rental quickly turned into 3.5 hours of kayaking. After realizing we were getting more lost, it started to get darker which meant it could only get more dangerous in terms of visibility. After 3.5 hours of kayaking, I knew it was time to deploy more resources. I looked in our life vest for whistles. There were none. We called the kayak company and told them we were lost and they told us to look on our iPhone and they had no boat that they could provide. They provided improper directions to us that actually led us to the Choptank River. With having a wife who has T1 diabetes this was a serious concern. I tried flagging down boats with the distress signal and barely had any luck until about after the 10th boat saw us. They finally stopped and asked us what was wrong and loaded our kayaks on the boat. Was there some responsibility on us that we got lost absolutely. However, their lack of concern, improper directions and lack of PROPER help is a grave concern that one must consider before renting ANY equipment from them. Some key takeaways from this moment: 1. If we had a compass (not digital) that could have seriously helped us in finding our way back 2. Always carry some type of whistle when on the water 3. Bring back up battery chargers 5. Always have enough water for hydration 6. Do not rely on a company to help rescue you. They just want their kayaks returned to make more money. 7. Don't be afraid to ask for help. We called from the road, and they have a tandem kayak ready for us when we arrived. They drive you a few blocks to a launch area in a park, give advice on a paddle route appropriate to your planned excursion, and help you get out in the water. The equipment was in good condition, the staff friendly, and beautiful location to paddle - we saw herons, osprey and beautiful shoreline. read more

We rented a tandem kayak and launched it in the St. Michaels Harbor. It was fun cruising around the harbor and into the Miles River by the Inn at Perry Cabin for an hour and a half. Next time, we launch at the park on W Chew Ave. read more

Just a great place to rent kayaks, bikes, etc. Everyone is friendly, reasonable and helpful. We found out the hard way that we couldn't manage a tandem kayak. The staff was incredibly understanding even after hauling the kayak to the water and hauling it back. We ended up renting bikes instead and the owner didn't hesitate in refunding the difference. What could have been a disaster turned into a very pleasant excursion. read more

Not faithful to their prices listed online. They tried to charge three times the amount so we went elsewhere. TriCycle and Run is so much better than this place, although they don't offer SUP or kayak rentals unfortunately. Either way, I'm definitely not going back here. If you dislike great customer service you should move on immediately. We came in to sheepishly ask to borrow a pump for our own bikes instead we ended up leaving with a map, full tires and great directions on the area and what to expect. A very good company to use when in Saint Michaels! They offer bikes, electronic bikes, kayaks, and paddle boards. I believe they offer purchase of many of these too and also repairs. We arrived about 30 mins before our Scheduled 12pm reservation and they were easily able to accommodate us. We reserved online and paid in advance-!highly recommend! We chose to walk down to the launch site and it was not more than 0.25 miles. When we arrived our paddle boards, life jackets, paddles, and dry bag were waiting. We never paddle boarded before but the guy was quick to give instructions and help us before we left out. Neither of us fell (thank god because there were a million jelly fish in the water which would have been painful) and we were easily able to navigate the waters- it was only an hour. We waited a bit for the guy to show up to collect our stuff but it wasn't too bad. We had the waters to ourself which was nice. We'd use their services again in saint Michaels if we found ourselves there again. Even if not, we would recommend their services to anyone interested in water activities in Saint Michaels in the future! read more

A perfect combination for an afternoon by the bay or in it. Rent a kayak or stand up paddleboard near Foxys on the bay for a water view of the maritime museum and beautiful shoreline. For a less challenging afternoon on the water, opt for a rental on the river. The cycling in the area is easy. The speed limit in town is low so cycling on the streets is not a problem. There is also a short bike path about a mile and a half long near the shop. Dave and Adam were very helpful and patient. I cannot wait until the next time I get back to St Michaels to rent again from them. read more

These guys were so great! My boyfriend and I walked in as they were opening on a Saturday and were on the water within ten minutes. They took everything to the water for us, gave us a map and were flexible on how long we stayed out. The prices are reasonable too! Such nice people and great service!
