My favorite sport bar. They offer bingo almost every night. Pull tabs, special drinks and tons of food. I recommended either the honey bbq wings or the bbq rodeo burger. The staff are always the best. They play good music all day. They also offer live bands

I have another review that's a bit different. Last month, I drove over to Shortstop Bar & Grill to pick up an order for pickles from Fire and Ice Pickles. Michelle is a server at this eatery and has a side pickle business. She has a few pickup locations. On this particular day, she was there in the afternoon. I headed over to pick up my order on my lunch break, which was roughly a 25-minute drive northbound from where I was in Bloomington. Her pickle business started when she made batches of pickles and shared them with customers at the restaurant. They were such a hit that she created her own business. Her pickles continue to be popular. It was easy finding the parking lot where she was. I parked my car and she came over to say hi. Before I left the hotel, we texted, so she knew that I was on my way. She was friendly and nice to chat with. I got my bottle of pickles and thanked her. She accepts cash only. Luckily, I had the exact amount with me. It took me just over a day to go through the entire bottle. Part of me felt that I should have got another bottle. Her pickles are tangy and garlicky, with a bit of heat that gets you at the end of crunching each pickle slice. I've never had anything quite like her pickles. So good! You basically place an order through a Google spreadsheet. The demand is high such that there's a one-month order backlog. I had to change my pickup date and time a handful of times due to timing pickup times with when I was in town. She was understanding and accommodating. I highly recommender her pickles. I am on her waiting list to place another order. I had thought about picking up food at this eatery while I was here. It serves burgers, tater tots, and more. I wasn't in the mood that day (weird, I know). I hope to place an order the next time I'm there and feel like a good burger. (67)

If you haven't been to shortstop for a hamburger than this is you're next spot. The good: The bang bang shrimp are pretty solid. The sauce around them is heavy, but tastes great. 4/5 The works Bacon cheeseburger is no joke. It's one of the nicest looking hamburgers I have eaten. it was a little pink inside and had a little tasty fat grease that came out of it. 4.5/5 Tha bad: you do not get many bang bang shrimp, so it would be a nice appetizer to share between two people. If you share it with more than two people, then it feels like a tease and that's not very nice. The tater tots were slightly overdone. Tip: try parking on the side or back. The front parking lot gets packed and you can get In a jam.

Wonderful service outside patio and bags.

As you walk in to the place, it looks and feels like a post-round atmosphere. Most people are wearing their Titleist hats with tees sticking out the back and their freshly pressed slacks while talking about how they could have done better today. There are plenty of TV's to choose from showing sporting events relative to the season. Much like a sports bar, it also has some video games (Golden Tee, Buck Hunter, etc.) and pull tabs that support the locals. Although the atmosphere is somewhat generic, the food is great! They always have a lunch and dinner buffet for an affordable price. It ranges from soup and salad bar to pizza to wings to actual entrees. If however, you don't feel like gorging yourself after your round, their menu is equally as good. Some of my favorites include the Mango Habanero wings (bone in or out), the Chile Lime Tilapia Taco's and the Chicken Salad Croissant. Most sandwiches come with kettle chips and a fantastic sour cream and onion dip (any midwesterner will love this). If there is a disappointment to this place, it is the beer selection. Cheap, cheap and cheap. Not only in price, but in quality. Generally being a beer snob, I have to succumb to the 'lite' beer takeover. However, I don't have to empty my wallet while doing so. They do have a full bar for those who choose the stronger libations. Service is hit or miss. There are always a lot of X-factors. Often busy and properly staffed, the service is pretty good. At times it can be slow, but understandably slow with all of the retired men taking the time of the good looking servers. Stop it! It is getting creepy! I have had their brunch buffet. It is mediocre at best, but fairly affordable. (Not sure why this is of lesser quality than the regular menu/buffets...) They do host banquets and parties. Beautiful scenery in the banquet areas looking over the courses and green space, but food is on par with the brunch buffet. I am obviously going back. I think you should too. Whether you are golfing or not, it is a good place to hang out if you are into the golf crowd like I am.

Pizza is of course a perfect pairing to beer, and you can get ice cream to do a float with root beer or a sweet imperial stout (seriously, get it, so good). Ok, so why three stars? First, OMG sugar. The pizza sauce is sweet, and then they put honey on everything. I get it, bee themed, commit to the bit, but that did not go well with beer. Second, you're serving yourself, ordering at the counter, busing your own table... but unless you alter it, it's a 20% automatic tip on everything. I'm a believer in tipping, but not when there isn't any actual service. This is a norm right now for self pour places and I hate it. This is right off the highway and does have a smaller parking lot to the side and overflow in the back. (All free) When I walked in I was not greeted. I stood awkwardly for about 5 minutes in the doorway until the bartender made eye contact with me. I did a to-go order and it would be nice if there was a sign directing you where to go! This definitely seems like a place locals go and if you are in with the crowd, AWESOME! And if not... well it's just not that welcoming. If you decide to go for a sit down experience, there are tables indoors and a patio for summer months. This is not an overly large establishment. It has your typical bar vibes with pull tabs and spot where you can play music. The bartender was nice and pointed me to the other side of the bar. A younger man grabbed me food and was very pleasant! The food: My boyfriend got the "Drive inn smash" burger with added bacon and fries. He said the burger was "solid." We shared and order of the pot roast poutine! Highly recommend! I didn't get a picture of it because it's not much to see drowning in brown gravy, but it was DELICIOUS! I got the pico shrimp fettuccine. It states the shrimp is "blackened" but it was not. The sauce was also a bit gritty. Not smooth. It still tasted good but not exactly what I was expecting. The portions for everything were very generous! Overall, this place was ok. I would like to try out their patio in the summer. I would also like to try other food options. My personal recommendation would be to get the food as a to go order.

You sit at a table and order off your phone, and servers will bring your food and drinks out to you. Had no problem with that, it was a fairly easy process. Our servers were kind and I believe we talked to the owner for a bit who was attentive to all the tables! The food is the disappointing piece. I had the chicken rojo avocado tacos and they really lacked flavor. There was plenty of chicken in such a small tortilla, which made the taco fall apart as you ate. My sister ordered the pesto Mac and cheese with chicken and it was okay, but the chicken was not good. I didn't try the tenderloin bowl, but it seemed to have better reviews than my meal or my sisters from my family. I don't make my way out to Blaine often enough to try again, but I think this would be a better spot for pizzas and milkshakes.
