Deal with this scam company at your own risk. A few months back I had to make a return and you MUST receive an RMA number from them with instructions. After a number of attempts they never replied. I sent the return with NO RMA number to the only address I could find - then they took forever to say they found it and refunded me - after I had to chase them down. Then I had another one item return out of a very large order and again after six e-mail requests they NEVER replied. I had to dispute this with my credit card carrier and they got it resolved. Then I said, OKAY I'll try another order with them and placed it. Order said "placed". Then I wondered why I never received anything. Went to order history and they cancelled the order with NO notice to me. They overcharge. They put expensive sets together which gives you nothing that you really need and then on the aftermarket the price drops by 50%. This entire "poster" stuff is a waste - who really needs the poster and you pay more. They can't simply sell you items for a fair price - all they do is play games and scam buyers. I feel sorry for anyone who has a return. You can purchase the same items elsewhere so do so and save money and deal with sites who will answer your e-mail and work with you. This company thinks they are too good for anyone - they are the worst and I would never ever spend one second even looking. Do yourself a favor - save money - get better assistance and not be ignored and go elsewhere. There are many great places you can get the same items for less. Pail full retail, a LOT of money for my family, purchasing the Green Acres boxed set. Season 2, Disc 4 would not load in five different dvd players, so I emailed for a replacement. After a couple weeks I finally received a reply, asking for digital photos and copy of receipt. We bought these a year or two ago and NOBODY keeps receipts for common purchases. They insisted that I use a digital camera and send pictures but refused to offer me a camera. My nephew took pictures and I could not load them into the email so apparently I'm stuck with a brand new boxed set with a bad dvd. Placed my first, and only, order with this company. 9 items showed up in 6 different packages over the next two months, only after that time period was I made aware that the rest of my items had been back ordered. Then, against my wishes, I was issued a partial refund with no apology or compensation for wasting my time or the fact that they failed to communicate with me properly resulting in me being forced to pay for the things they had already sent me. So, even though I would've rather sacrificed all the items I had ordered in favor of Shout Factory not getting my money, the worst business practices in the home entertainment industry I have ever seen literally gave me no other option. I've purchased from Shout Factory before, but after my recent purchase, I don't think I will again. I ordered a limited edition steelbook for a birthday and placed my order in advance to compensate for Covid delays. Instead of being a smooth experience, I was forced to wait nearly a full month with a tracking number which showed no updates for quite some time. After receiving increasingly useless replies from their customer service, I decided to shell out the extra cash and ordered the exact same steelbook from Amazon, which arrived in a mere 48 hours. The Shout Factory order didn't arrive until a full week later and too late to be a timely gift. I hate writing this because I've had pleasant experiences before with Shout Factory. Yes they have succeeded in bringing great shows from the past and making them available on DVD, a noteable being NYPD Blue, the greatest crime drama ever. But they have no pride in their work. There motto is "Crank it out cheap as possible". Skipping scenes. Poor audio. No Closed Captioning if you have a modern TV with HDMI. No duration timer. I grew up in an age where TV shows were different. I am sure that every generation can say the same thing. Specifically for me it was the 90's, however, I missed some of the cool shows of mid 80's and early 2000's. The major reason why some of our favorite TV shows don't come out on DVD is 'cause obtaining music licensing. Of course today's shows are a lot smarter with that. Personally I would rather wait for the proper release of a TV series since original music, as watched the first time, played a major role for the story and scenes. If you're wondering why certain box sets are so $$$ at your stores it's 'cause of the music licencing. Specific case in point was the Freaks and Geeks box set. They've put their own dollars and effort into getting certain music licensing which is important for fans like myself. Their best accomplishment with this and 10 or more years in the waiting/making for me was the Dick Cavett compliation. They do have one toe in the Warner Music water which may explain the accessibility to certain music licensing. Shout Factory has agreements with, among others, Marvel Entertainment, Hasbro Studios, Nickelodeon/Paramount Home Entertainment, Classic Media, Universal Pictures, MGM, and Saban Capital Group. Would give ZERO stars if possible; too bad I can't! This is a fraudulent, shady and low-brow company who sends damaged and used items as "New". Good luck resolving any issues too as even registered customers can only submit a contact form via the sites template as there's no phone number or other means provided to contact them. Responses, when you get them, are very slow and generic and the "support staff" doesn't even sign their name. That should be a clue as any company who doesn't provide a means to contact them other than form template is generally one who doesn't want or wish to add value and support their products and those who purchase them. I recently placed an order from Shout Factory as a Christmas gift for my father. I paid for expedited shipping in hopes it would arrive in time, but I understood that it may not. Christmas came and went with no arrival or E-mail from Shout Factory as to the status of my order. When I signed into the website to check my order status, it still said the same thing it did the day I ordered it, "order sent to warehouse." I then sent a message through their customer service request form asking what had happened and if they would be mailing it soon. I received an automated reply saying they'd get back to me in a few days. A week went by with no change or response from them. After seeing the order status still hadn't changed, I realized they weren't serious about my purchase and sent a second E-mail cancelling my order. I explained that because no action had been taken on my order, I would like my purchase cleared from my account and a follow-up E-mail sent to me saying it was officially cancelled. I just checked the site today and my order is no longer on my account, but they never E-mailed me saying this. In fact, they never responded to any of my requests for information. I am VERY disappointed in this"company". I recently purchased a DVD set "Maude" from Ebay. The set was to include a book, but the book was missing. I contacted the Ebay seller, and the seller issued a partial refund. I contacted Shout! Factory asking how could I get a book. Instead of Shout! Factory offering to sell or replace the book, I was given an excuse that my set was a bootleg. I was asked for a disc size and that was all. I offered to send pictures, but the representative would not help me get a book. FAIL! See the email conversation: ME: Message: I purchased a brand new box set of Maude from a seller on Ebay. The set was to include a 40 page collector book. The set was brand new and sealed. But when I opened the set, I discovered the 40 page collector book was missing. How would I get the book that was to have been in the sealed package? Thanks! SF: Do you have a computer? Can you check the size (in gigabytes) of one of the discs? I ordered a couple of gifts for Christmas in early December. I never received a tracking number. I waited and waited and never got a "your items are shipping" email. I emailed 3 times. Got one response, responded and then nothing. I message again saying that I understand it's the holidays but Christmas is drawing nearer and nearer and they tell me, the day before Christmas Eve, that one item is on back stock and nothing has even shipped yet. I ordered items back in early November. Received them late November. However 1 the items arrived damaged on or about 24th. I emailed that day. No reply for 10 to 14 days or more. Generic 1 at that. I tell them I have email 2 or 3 times since I received the order. I answered their questions. And this was on or about the 4th of December. I haven't heard from them since and its the 15th. So now it looks like the person I got the gift for will have nothing to open on xmas. All thanks to shout factorys poor customer service department. I realize they are not as big as amazon but they are bigger than a local mom n pops shop. Oh they also posted a reply to a comment I made on their facebook on facebook a few days after I finally got 1 email and made excuse that they have a very small customer service department and are not a huge company like amazon. I never write bad reviews but these people really deserve zero stars. I bought two sets of The Colbys, one of which was on Amazon, and the discs were defective on both sets. Finally, I wrote to these people and they say these are bootlegs ?? I have bought from Amazon for nearly 20 years and have never had one single bootleg sold to me !! Shout!
