You know when a chowder leaves a thick coating of cream in your mouth that lingers long after each bite? This wasn't like that at all, and it was perfect. I also enjoyed the Caesar salad. I've seen it presented this way before, and while it does put a little more work on the diner, it's really not a big deal to use a fork and knife. The lettuce was crisp and cold, the dressing tasted homemade, and the crouton crumble was a game changer. I decided to add the seared blackened scallops, and they were cooked perfectly. The upcharge was a little more than I would have liked for the amount, but it was worth it. After all, who doesn't love a scallop straight from Montauk? That scallop traveled less to get to my plate than I did to get to Hampton Bays. The drinks were festive, the wine was cold, and the atmosphere was lively.
