This is a solid, no frills sushi spot owned and operated by some of the nicest folks I've ever met. It's more of a take out spot than a sit down place, but after having a few drinks at New Moon down the street with my siblings we were all really craving some sushi, so we decided to stop in and order a few rolls. Service was quick and friendly, they went out of their way to accommodate us even though you could tell they were doing a lot of to go orders. Everything came out on paper plates with plastic cutlery and wooden chopsticks which was honestly fine by us, easy clean up for them and a casual night out for us. We did takeout on Friday afternoon, June 12. The sushi smelled fishy, and I shouldn't have eaten it. I got sick that night. Maybe it was the Ikura? Excellent food at really reasonable prices. The sushi and sashimi was super fresh. Bento boxes are a lot of food for a good deal and I like that they put the teriyaki sauce on the side. The location is small in a cute part of town with just a handful of tables inside and out we ended up getting takeout which seems to be the majority of their business. We were in town for a wedding this weekend and decided to stop here on the way home. We got the chicken teriyaki lunch special to go, which comes with shrimp shumai, soup or salad, 4 pieces of a California roll, and chicken teriyaki with vegetables. I very much so enjoyed the sauces for the shumai, teriyaki and the spicy mayo we asked for. The chicken was tender white meat strips with the sauce on the side, which I definitely appreciated. The shumai had just such a nice flavor to it and the sauce complimented it well. I don't normally like California rolls, but the spicy mayo we requested added a little something extra. Though it will probably be a long time if we ever come back because it's so far from home, it's definitely a good, fresh and reasonable meal in the area! read more

Awesome sushi! My favorites are the spicy crunchy salmon and tuna. Make sure to call ahead with your order as they are always slammed.

Ordered the salmon teriyaki which was sliced and grilled. Very dry. Probably ordered the wrong fish. Service was fine and ambiance basic.

Surely the best sushi around. The fish is always fresh and nicely presented. The prices are reasonable and the owners, both behind the counter, are super friendly and do their best to prepare your food as quickly as possible. Take out with a few tables inside and a few outside. BYOB. If you like tuna, I highly recommend the Orlando Roll. LOVE this place! Ken, the original owner sold it a few years ago to a new owner and the quality tanked...resulting in some disappointing, yet true reviews. I absolutely love Sakura House!! I have been going here for years. It's the best the freshest the most delicious sushi you will ever have in your life.!! I live in Hampton year-round I was born and raised in North Sea, but live in Hampton Bays and I frequent Sakura House at least six or seven times in a month because the food is just outrageous!! Absolutely delicious!! and always always fresh!! Zoe and her husband, Ken, who own the place and run. It are the sweetest, most kindest people they always greet you have a smile on their face. They are never distracted. 1.5 stars. Given the limited Japanese options around the area, I was hoping Sakura House would be my go-to sushi spot. Unfortunately, Sakura House was a disappointment. The decor was unremarkable and gave off a low-end fast food restaurant vibe. To make things worse, our food was served on paper plates and bowls. Other photos on Yelp show the food on non-disposable tableware, so maybe this was an isolated instance (?). My friend and I ordered two rolls, both acceptable in taste but lukewarm in temperature. It definitely did not feel like the fish was stored in the fridge prior to preparation. Luckily, no stomachaches after. All in all, I am shocked that Sakura House has a 4-star rating here on Yelp. If this spot had existed anywhere closer to NYC, I'm pretty sure it would have been out of business by now. read more

So I guess I'll start off with the good news first. So I got the large edamame, which was actually worth the price, however they are cold and unsalted. Next my two meals came with a salad, the dressing is very water down. To the point were you can see water in it separating as you poor it. My chicken teriyaki looked amazing! Visually the food looks great but the chicken was cold and tough. Again the sauce is very liquidy. The last thing I got was the beef teriyaki bento box.... it comes with 6 peices of beef! This places seems to be cutting the quantity of food and watering down sauces, to make up for lack of customers or maybe just to save money. I would not recommend this place. I love getting take out from Sakura House. They have affordable sushi options and everything for the most part is tasty. Solid lunch time bento boxes (the teriakyi salmon is perfectly cooked!). Also, they have a great onion tempura roll which I haven't really seen elsewhere. Really nice and eager to help staff/owners (I believe they're a family owned restaurant?). This is the place where I discovered Tako-Su. If you don't know it means octopus covered in cucumber and citrusy soy sauce. It's amazing, must try!
