    Sake flight

My hubby's first Omakase. I experienced it in nyc a few months ago so I did have something to compare it to. The ingredients were fresh and chilled perfectly. It was delicious but not as creative as what I expected. The concept tried to mimic a speakeasy with a secret code to enter, but didn't follow through. The dining room was coastal beachy vibe and comfortable. Sake and wine flights accompanied our meal nicely. Very pricey for pieces that were small in size. Attentive staff.

This place is amazing, such a chill experience, with the highest quality sushi. You'd need to go to Japan to beat this place!

Our sushi chef even gave us an uni "bump" to eat off our hands like caviar, which was amazing.

Still no actual bread that I could find, but the tortillas are wrap size! And not bad. BUT: their prices are much better than King Kullen, especially for produce. Which has seriously gone up. We all know why *rolls eyes* The produce selection is okay, not amazing. But they had everything I needed. One thing I do like about Lidl is the limited-time, well-priced specials. Especially cheese and sauces. They sometimes have very unique cheeses and other items. Currently, they have glow-in-the-dark Oreo cookies, Tate's pumpkin spice cookies, and pumpkin and caramel Oui yogurt. I can't eat the cookies, and the yogurt is fattening, but it was fun to see them. Lidl also sells odd assortments of ugly clothes and shoes, and occasionally useful housewares. I bought an emergency iron for $18! The box was open and damaged, but the iron works well. Service is mostly friendly. There don't seem to be many employees. The store is very bright, which is excellent for examining produce for spots, and they also have plants at much lower prices than King Kullen. I bought two African violets for $2.99 each! This store is farther away than King Kullen, but the savings on produce alone are worth the drive. I also got two jars of ricotta, red pepper, and pesto sauce. Never saw that combo before!

We checked Lidl out for the first time today. Prices were really low. Produce was really inexpensive. So was chicken. The set up is rudimentary. There are a lot of Lidl branded products there. This won't be our one and only supermarket, but it gets the job done for staples.

We went two nights ago and will never return. The food isn't bad. It's borderline inedible. Lobster Mac and Cheese was like soup with Orchiette. Lobster bisque had on shard of lobster and no flavor. For dinner, the scallops were bland and $59 got you 4 scallops. Yup, $15/bland scallop over some gooey paste. The steak, overcooked and tasteless. The Caesar's salad with no protein was the best meal at the table. Everything bagel Salmon had no taste. How does something with everything bagel seasoning need salt? It's a shame to see what was a great set of memories be relinquished to never being more. Go elsewhere. Oh yeah, all that and it was $750 for six people eating half of crap...

Main course...Deliciously spicy and fresh rolls at a fair price. The inside of this space feels very sleek and high end. There's a nice bar and tables in front, as well as a few hibachi tables in the back. The menu here is extensive and truly a fusion of Asian cuisines. Can't decide behind Chinese, Thai, or Japanese food? At Tony's you can have it all. I had been under the weather the previous week, so I opted for some hot and sour soup to kick things off and it was the exact cure I needed. Hot and sour and chock full of mushrooms, it really hit the spot. The pork dumplings were decent as well, and the chicken lettuce wraps were fresh and crisp. I ordered tea as well which came in a kettle and was perfectly brewed. We also tried the Massaman curry which had just the right amount of spice and sweetness to it. This place is pricey, but the portions were huge, so I couldn't even be mad. The service was a bit slow, but again, willing to overlook that if the food is good (which it was). If you've been avoiding this place due to bad reviews, I would say you should reconsider.
